I. This text concerns the problem of higher education , namely the problems of higher education in Japan.
II. This text starts emphosising the fact, that Japanese higher education stands on the brink of crunch. Many universities plans to close down. And this tendence have one reeason:
the country birthrate declines, private universities are running out of students, failed to meet theyr enrollment targets, so why they are in the red.
There are 3 ways to save higher education:
1) recruting students from China because of proximity and linguistic similarities;
2) creating programs that appeal to the swelling ranks of retiries;
3) merging. Many private universities will have to merge ro survive.
For conclusion - more and more chancellors thinks that its time to quit.
