- People have invested their hopes and dreams into this city for thousands of years. It is a place of power, that inspires the belief that anything is possible. Those who are born here, grow with their eyes looking upward toward a dream, a hope or some perceived destiny. Those who arrive here see it as a place of change, and they invest themselves in trying to build a life in the shadows of the vast megalopolis. It is unfortunate, that New York is a city of broken dreams. Every dream realized feeds on the rotting remains of someone else's hope.
