Narrator: "Mickey Mouse puffed sadly to Doc's Station."

Mickey Mouse: (Sobbing) "It's not fair!"

Narrator: "He complained."

Mickey Mouse: (Sobbing "Captain Hook has been telling lies about me, and made Walt Disney and all the dwarfs think I'm horrid." They Think I Told Tales About Them To The Pirates And Now Walt Disney Sent Me Away''

Narrator: "Doc smiled."

Doc: "I know you aren't, and so does Walt Disney. You wait and see. Why don't you help me with these pirates?"

Narrator: "Mickey felt happier with Doc, and set to work at once.

The pirates were silly, heavy, and noisy. The two characters had to work hard, pushing and pulling them all afternoon. At last, they reached the top of the hill."

Mickey Mouse: "Good-bye!"

Narrator: "Whistled Mickey, and rolled gently over the crossing to the other line.

Mickey loved coasting down the hill, running easily with the wind whistling past. Suddenly, it was an guard's warning whistle!"

Pirates: "Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah!"

Narrator: "Laughed the pirates."

Pirates: "We've broken away! We've broken away! Chase him! Bump him! Throw him off the road!"

Narrator: "They yelled."

Mickey's Driver: "Hurry, Mickey, Hurry!"

Narrator: "Said the driver. They raced through Doc's station, but the pirates were catching up."

Mickey's Driver: "As fast as we can, then they'll catch us gradually!"

Narrator: "The driver was gaining control."

Mickey's Driver: "Another clear mile, and we'll do it!"

Mickey Mouse: "Oh, glory, look at that!"

Narrator: "Dopey was just pulling out on their line from the station ahead. Any minute, there could be a crash!

Mickey's Driver: "It's up to you now, Mickey!"

Narrator: "Cried the driver.

Mickey put every ounce of weight and strength against the pirates."

Mickey Mouse: "It's too late!"

Narrator: "Mickey groaned, and shut his eyes. He veered into a siding where Colonel Hathi set up shop. He was shaving a customer."

"The silly pirates had knocked their guard down, and left him far behind after he had whistled a warning.

But the pirates didn't care. They were feeling very pleased with themselves."

Mickey Mouse: "Beg pardon, sir."

Narrator: "Gasped Mickey."

Mickey Mouse: "Excuse my intrusion."

Colonel Hathi: "No, I won't!"

Narrator: "Said Colonel Hathi."

Colonel Hathi: "You've frightened my customers! I'll teach you!"

Narrator: "And he lathered Mickey's face all over. Poor Mickey.

Bashful was helping to pull the pirates away, when Walt Disney arrived."

Colonel Hathi: "I do not like mice popping through my walls!"

Narrator: "Fumed Colonel Hathi."

Walt Disney: "I appreciate your feelings,"

Narrator: "Said Walt Disney."

Walt Disney: "But you must know that this mouse and his crew have prevented a very serious accident. It was a very close, um, shave."

Colonel Hathi: "Oh."

Narrator: "Said Colonel Hathi."

Colonel Hathi: "Oh. Excuse me."

Narrator: "He filled his trunk with water to wash Mickey's face."

Colonel Hathi: "I'm sorry. I didn't know you were being a brave mouse."

Mickey Mouse: "That's all right, sir. I didn't know that, either."

Walt Disney: "You were very brave, indeed."

Narrator: "Said Walt Disney."

Walt Disney: "I'm proud of you."

Narrator: "Walt Disney watched the rescue operation, then he had more news for Mickeyl."

Walt Disney: "And when you are properly washed and healed, you are coming home."

Mickey Mouse: "Home, sir? Do you mean the yard?"

Walt Disney: "Of course."

Mickey Mouse: "But sir, they don't like me. They like Captain Hook."

Walt Disney: "Not now. I never believed Captain Hook, so I sent him packing. The dwarfs are sorry and want you back."

Narrator: "A few days later, when he came home, here was a really rousing welcome for Mickey Mouse."
