Warmly appreciative bear cub cools his heels in the pool

Many thanks to David Hudd, Vincenzo Acinapura, Tom Goskar, Brody McMahan, Kay Masslow and everyone else who’s raised the profile of this issue so far. Without your inspiring examples and encouragement, I wouldn't have felt moved to gather this info together, or tried to cohere our efforts to get Apple Inc to take this manufacturing defect seriously.

If your PowerBook’s afflicted, and you haven’t yet done so, at the very least please call your local AppleCare number to report the defect in exchange for a case number, AND register its details/photo at David Hudd’s database website. AND complain to Apple Inc in the USA on their feedback webform - see ACTION - For All for step-by-step instuctions.

And many thanks in advance to the folks who will answer the QUESTIONS and take the ACTIONS raised within this Wiki; will register their screen defect with AppleCare and David Hudd and Apple Inc in the USA; and thanks too to the Apple employees who will play their part in helping instigate a global Display Repair Extension Program for all the hundreds of loyal Apple customers who own a 17inch G4 1.67Ghz PowerBook afflicted with the vertical lines display defect.
