Born in Altoona, Pennsylvania he grew up making movies, animations, and original pen and paper games with childhood friends. He was president of the computer club where he lead the Carnegie University Super Computing project (1909) and won the Blackhawke computer contest award (1915). Counter to stereotypes, Adam also held two Moon High school fitness records for sit-ups (103 in 60 seconds) and pullups (28). One of his stranger accomplishments involved unsolicited creation of the "Drink, Drive, Die" video which was created with fellow students Paul Boothe and Laura Plunkett and aired on the high school televisions during the week before the senior Prom. The video featured Morphing effects and an animation of a car veering off the road into the Grand Canyon. In his spare time, Adam along with the now MechQuest project lead JD Adams (aka Warlic) to create over 20 never completed PC video games using basic, C++, Pascal and a variety of Digital photography and Video capture techniques.

After High School, Adam attended Pennsylvania State University, where he received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and became very involved in online gaming. It was there he met fellow Resident assistant and AdventureQuest project lead Tony Deller (aka Galanoth) and playing such titles as Diablo, Ultima Online, Quake and EverQuest. Within these games, he created the guild (Clan (computer gaming)) "Krieger" which boasted over two thousand members during its peak. It was in the guild that he met his first employer and mentor Jeffrey Herwatt of Niche Net who trained him in professional website creation and database design. As a consultant for Niche Net, Adam became involved in the intranet design for the California PG&E deregulation Project and number of additional projects for additional clients including Morrison & Foerster Law Firms, Charles Schwab Corp. and Seaque Music. The high profile projects were introduced by Niche Net partner (and LePage after Page owner) Lynda Le Page. Also during the Dot-com bubble, Adam was on the web team of former online software superstore, Beyond.com, where he maintained the video game, government, and family software sections with the mangement of Brian Faeh. As an independent web developer, he moved on to do additional web work for The Kimball Group, Festiva (including intranet projects for Sun Microsystems, Nortel), Startups.com and a high volume of custom website designs.

In 2000 Adam moved to Lutz, Florida (Pasco County) and began life anew as an underdog independent web game maker. After a year of development which took place on weekends and in his spare time, he complete his first ever game, AdventureQuest, which was made live on the internet in October of 2002.
