Welcome to the American Immigration mini wiki at Scratchpad!
You can use the box below to create new pages for this mini-wiki. Make sure you type
[[Category:American Immigration]] on the page before you save it to make it part of the American Immigration wiki (preload can be enabled to automate this task, by clicking this link and saving that page. Afterwards, you may need to purge this page, if you still see this message).
This site is designed for the entire American Immigration class at CSF to easily post and manage content. It uses the wiki format, which you can learn in 15 minutes just by reading a few tutorials. Everyone will be able to post their own information and modify/expand upon existing pages.
The class is actively compiling a list of subtopics within American Immigration to discuss on the site. We hope to spark a dialog between CSF students and the greater Santa Fe community and raise awareness on the issues of immigration as they affect us on the personal, national, and global level.
Create an Account
Before you contribute anything to the site, you should register a free account so that everyone can see who is posting what. Simply click "login/create account" in the top right of this page to create your account. I recommend selecting a username that isn't obscure; for example mine is choover for Cory Hoover.
Wiki formatting can be confusing at first; but after a few minutes of practice it becomes easy. Please read the following tutorial to learn how to write and edit pages.
Once you start getting the hang of things, go ahead and post some content! You can click the discussion tab at the top of this page to contribute your thoughts or suggestions for the site. You can also create new pages for specific topics (each page has its own discussion too). Remember: everyone can edit every page of this site!
You can email Cory: choover (at) csf.edu if you're having difficulty with the wiki format or have any questions about the site. It may seem daunting at first, but trust me; it doesn't take long to get up and running. Anyone can do it!
