Andy "Quasar" Ober joined the Ship of Fools in (insert date). The nickname "Quasar" was bestowed upon him because of the lyrics to his song "You're the Bursar". Andy is known for his colorful relationship with his girlfriend, his outstanding hosting style, and bringing a distinctively Jewish flavor to most things he does.

Andy Ober is the frontman for a parody group which is deeply ingrained in Ship of Fools history and lore. His songs, lyrics, mannerisms, performances, and connections are held sacred in the hearts of fans and Fools alike.

Andy once discovered an internet video that revolved around a certain former member of the television show CHiPs. At the end of the joke, Erik Estrada loudly proclaims "You're Gay!", an expression that Andy found hilarious. Bringing it to the next weekly meeting, the catchphrase quickly spread to the group and became an expression to represent almost anything except homosexuality.

Despite what their day to day banter would lead you to believe, Andy is very much in love with his ladyfriend Jacque. That said, many of the Fools find their relationship to be quite humorous. Andy goes out of his way to pretend like he doesn't care for her, constantly looking to pawn her off on others, sell or trade her, telling her to stop talking or go away, or ignoring her. Often, he cuts her off in mid-sentence to put her in the master lock. One of his nicknames for her is the "Queen of the Twattoman Empire".
As stated before, one must take this all with a grain of salt. Andy and Jacque love each other very much and are seen double-dating with Ryan "T-Rex" Garwood and Jenny Wilson. Together, Andy and Jacque own several pets, including a rabbit (El Rabbito the Pooping Bandito) and the ugliest frog ever.

Andy graduated from Ball State University in (year) with a degree in (some kind of communication thing). He worked in Lafayette at the local radio station for a long while before being let go and moving to Ft. Wayne.
