Adding Girls
Make sure you pick the girl to be in the world. On the main menu, click the girl(s) name in the list on the bottom half and click the middle button so her name is highlighted in red.
You must create the male character first in order to select the girls you want in the world.
If you want to modify a girl with customizer, you have to remove her from her worlds. Your Affection ratings will be lost.
Creating A New Male Character
In order to create a male character you must be able to type in Japanese characters. You may have to change your language and regional settings to Japanese (recommended). Once that's done, use the Left Alt key + Left Caps Lock key while the cursor is in the second text box down in the male character creator screen. In order to type Japanese characters you type two letters (ex: ka) then a character will show up (if confused type kazuya, that will give you a nice name that they can pronounce), once the Japanese characters have appeared hit the enter key to lock them in.

-You can type directly in Roman letters--without converting to Japanese--if you use Hentaijin's English Launcher Mod (see mod list, under Localizations); however, if you wish to use common Japanese names with the mod, you will have to render it in all-capitals (eg. MASATO). Moreover, you must render the name in Hepburn romanization. So TUKASA should be written as TSUKASA, YUUITI should be YUUICHI, HIROSI should be HIROSHI, SYUN should be SHUN, and so on.

Setting the girls starting place
Where the girl is in the beginning is determined by the order that you place her in the world:
- 1st girl - Japan Room
- 2nd girl - Western Room (in the Mansion)
- 3rd girl - General Room (across from the man's room)
- 4th and 5th - 2P Room

- Esc key: Quit menu (left icon quits game, right icon returns to game)

- When laying down on a bed, 3 options are presented. Choose the top option (セーブ which transliterates to "sebu," meaning save in English) to sleep and save, second option to sleep without saving, and the bottom option to cancel sleeping (and saving).

- Move forward: W
- Move backward: S
- Move left: A (can combine with W or S)
- Move right: D (can combine with W or S)
- Walk: hold Shift key while moving

- Talk: When sitting/lying beside her (Effect unconfirmed)Edit: It's actually the girl that's talking, not the avatar. If close enough he won't call her and then they'll have a 'conversation'(As IRL, she's talking alone and you 'listen'.).

- Holding Ctrl while in normal mode activates camera mode like in H mode.
- F11/PrintScrn - takes a photo (pictures stored in data/cap directory of installation folder)
- Bank spin - tilts the screen diagonally. Period key "." spins clockwise, Backslash "\" spins counter clockwise. Forward slash "/" resets.
- Preset camera centers:
- Default = C or numeric 5
- Face = V
- Chest = B
- Lower body = N
- Switch between guy and girl (girl has to be in same area) = M
- Camera rotation = numeric 2,4,6,8 (reset = 5 or C); Ctrl+left drag
- Camera center motion with respect to the current camera angle:
- Up/down/left/right: Ctrl+Wheel drag
- Camera center motion with respect to in-game z-axis: Page up/Page down, Ctrl+right-drag up/down
- Camera zoom in/out (home/End); mousewheel; Ctrl+right-drag left/right
- Pan adjustment: "]" pans out, ";" pans in.
[edit] Mood
The icons on your bottom left indicates your girls' location(symbol) and mood(color), to change the mood it is needed a change of color. There are four colors presented here in order of affection:
Blue Icon:
Means that she's not comfortable with you hugging or kissing her.
Note: The only confirmed way to get the girl to enter the H-scene while only the blue icon is shown is if she has the えっち - ecchi (lewd, dirty, sexual) personality trait.
Green Icon (Friend):
The green color indicates that the girl in question likes you (friendship). She will allow you to hug her and when worked a bit she will let you kiss and eventually do her (what he does to her depends on where you approach her, behind, front, in bed etc.). She will also not leave a room as randomly. She'll stay in the room and wait for you.
Red Icon (Lover):
The red color indicates that the girl in question loves you. In this state, girls with any type of personality trait will enter into sex-mode.
Girls who have a red icon can initiate new sex positions such as oral, tit fuck, cow girl, and sitting. Girls only take action if they are blushing red (not pink).
Note : The more girls that are in your world, the longer it takes to increase each girls' state to the red "love" state. In addition, each of the girls' states can revert back from red-to-green and green-to-blue if you ignore the girl in question for too long, or if you do things to displease her (such as walking in on her while she's undressing/naked in the bathroom).
Yellow Icon (Jealous):
The yellow color indicates that the girl in question entered a "jealous" state. The jealous mood may occur when a girl sees you taking actions with another girl. There are also traits and locations in game that can help speed up the jealous state. Jealous mood may change to either blue or red in an instant if you hug them or sleep in the same bed (This might depend on previous mood levels.)
This mood is similar to red since girls can initiate their own sex positions, but only if they are blushing.
Changing mood:
Each girl start with blue color icon. Here are some things that are known to change the mood so far are:
- Hugging & Kissing. (confirmed)
- Eating with her (you must be in the dinning room before she finds a seat at the table). (confirmed)
- Hold her hand and walk/run to different locations. (confirmed)
- Not interacting with the girl for a prolonged period of time. (confirmed)
- Sitting on the couch with her (you have to be leaned back with the left mouse button). You know you did this right if she puts her head on your shoulders.
- Sleeping in the same bed as her. (confirmed)
- Sex. (confirmed, but only if you satisfy her)
- Having sex front of other girl(s). (girls with lewd stay watching, but some trait(s) combined with lewd have chance of increasing girl's mood.)
- Walking in on her while she urinates.
- Walking in on her while she bathes. (makes her happy if she have lewd trait)
The changes are not that obvious so you might not really notice. The key thing is to do activities with each girl and spend time with them. Ignoring a girl and doing things to make her unhappy will have a negative impact. Her personality traits can magnify/alter the affects and reactions.
Deep explanation about mood colors:
Each girl stores numbers we call Green, Yellow and Red. Each one store a value from 0 to 2000. The game always shows the color with the highest number. You can get one of these 3 colors if you get enough of the respective points (this is affected by girls' type and traits). Here is the color you get when you interact with them:
Green >= 1000 points; Increases by staying with a girl, hugs, take her hand and walk.
Yellow >= 1000 points; Increases by staying with 2 or more girls in the same map/room, when one girl see you having sex with another.
Red >= 1000 points; Increases by staying with a girl, kiss her while hugging, entering H-scenes, (Only lewds: watch her while she is taking a bath).
(Tip: if you want to understand exactly how your actions influence the mood of your girls, you can get Darkhounds Illusion Wizard and see the actual values of their moods in the save file (link). For example, I was able to discover that when you sleep with the girl, you gain about 160 red icon points, and if you sleep alone, you lose about 146 red icon and green icon points from all your girls, and It seems you need 1000 points to get the icon color to change from blue).
Note that different traits appear to affect what a girl will do with a different colored icon. For example, sex still seems possible with a girl who has a blue icon, but also has the horny + easily aroused trait (other trait combinations allow this, as well).
Girls' Location:
In addition to the color, there are also kanji characters inside the mood icons. Each icon represents one of the girls currently in your world, and the kanji character tell you the current location of that girl. If an icon is highlighted, it means that that girl is in the same location as you.

The icons can be hidden from the "setup menu" or by using a number hotkey.
Misc Tips:
- Move after giving her a hug instead of trying to kiss her if she isn't comfortable with it, you can easily achieve a green icon by just hugging her repeatedly, it kinda ruins the fun but it works.
- If you're lazy and just want the action you should give her the Horny and Lewd traits, she'll be up for pretty much anything with relatively little effort, but that also "kinda ruins the fun" to be honest.
- The girl can go straight from red to blue if you don't do anything with her for some time, which depends on many different factors. If you notice this early enough, a quick intercourse will probably get her back to red easily, but if you prolong it too long you have to get her back up the hard way through stages of green. Even calling her/looking at her/holding hands for brief periods of time every now and then will lengthen this time considerably (unconfirmed if it will prevent the red to blue transition altogether).
[edit] Making her follow you
To have a girl hold your hand and follow you, move the male player so that he is facing the girl's left arm and right click. Or you can face away from the girl and position your right hand to her left hand, then right click.
While holding hands, even if you move far away from her, she will catch up to you. However, if you move far away and you transfer into a different map area, she will stop following you. To move to a new map area with the girl: have the girl right behind you as you move to a new area. If you want her to match you running speed make sure she has a firm grip before dashing off, and run smoothly (no quick starts/stops or fps circle strafing tricks) or she'll often let go. Just run forwards continually and turn with the mouse for a smooth trip.
