  1. The Snow Song

  • Alec Baldwin: It was wintertime on the land of YTV. The snow covered fields and railway lines. All the characters were hard at work, except Alex.
  • Ash: Come on, Alex, this is no time to have a rest.
  • Alex: I'm stuck.
  • Alec Baldwin: Moaned Alex.
  • Alex: And my head's freezing up. Driver's gone for help.
  • Ash: Hah!
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed Ash and went on his way. Later, Ash had to help clear snow by a tunnel. But it was too deep and he got stuck. Ash was very cross.
  • Ash: Snow is nothing but trouble.
  • Alec Baldwin: He moaned. Casey was close by.
  • Casey: Driver says this winter is as bad as the worse winter of all.
  • Ash: How worse?
  • Alec Baldwin: Asked Ash.
  • Casey: I'll tell you.
  • Alec Baldwin: Replied Casey and then the little character did. Rikochet was working the line to the slate mine in the mountains. When the snow came, it was difficult to work. They used the snow as a double buffer zone to help stop Beedrill skidding through the ravine. One day, Rikochet set off to the mine with some empty Beedrill. Meanwhile, there was trouble at the mine. The winch that holds the cars up and down wasn't working properly. Alex had reached the ravine. High above him were the mine yards.
  • Driver: That snow looks dangerous.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his driver.
  • Driver: The sound of your engine and the Beedrill could cause an avalanche. I'll set up an emergency cap and see what happens.
  • Alec Baldwin: Rikochet watched as the driver prepared it. Then they ran over the cap. (Boom!) The bang echoed around the gorge. Nothing happened.
  • Driver: Good.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his driver.
  • Driver: All's well. We'll have a cup of cocoa and then make our way.
  • Alec Baldwin: But high above them, all was not well. A long line of full Beedrill was about be winched down the slope. They had just started their journey when some empty Beedrill became derailed. The winch groaned.
  • Beedrill: Break it, snap it.
  • Alec Baldwin: Shouted the Beedrill and they did.
  • Beedrill: On, on, faster, faster!
  • Alec Baldwin: They giggled.
  • Workman: The snowbank and buffers will stop them.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said a workman. But he was wrong. The Beedrill plunged into the ravine. Rikochet and his driver heard the noise and looked up.
  • Driver: Avalanche!
  • Alec Baldwin: They cried.
  • (The avalanche starts to bury Rikochet completely)
  • Alec Baldwin: When the snow ploomed clear, there was no sign of Rikochet. He was buried deep inside the high drift blocking the ravine.
  • Casey: And then came the funny part.
  • Ash: What's the funny part about an avalanche?
  • Alec Baldwin: Asked Ash.
  • Casey: Well...
  • Alec Baldwin: No one knew that the heat from Rikochet's body had helped to make an igloo.
  • Men: It's a snowball, it's a snowhouse, it's a boy.
  • Alec Baldwin: They cleared away the ice only to find Rikochet's driver and fireman drinking cocoa as if nothing had happened.
  • Ash: Lucky for him. But it just goes to show you can't trust Beedrill.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Ash.
  • Casey: Or snow.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Casey. The men had just cleared the snow away from him when Terry puffed by with his machine.
  • Terry: Hey look out, there's snow about.
  • Alec Baldwin: He stopped by the tunnel and wheeshed loudly. Then it happened.
  • Terry: Oh no.
  • (The avalanche falls on top of Terry, completely burying him)
  • Terry: Help!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Terry.
  • Ash: If Rikochet survived the snowfall, surely a big proud man like you can do the same.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuckled Ash.
  • Terry: Pah!
  • Alec Baldwin: Moaned Terry from within and then fell as silent as the snow.

Ash's Christmas Party

  • George Carlin: It was Christmas on the land of YTV. All the characters were working hard. Ash and Jackie were busy carrying people and parcels up and down the branch line. Everyone was happy. Only the coaches Suzy and Pietra were complaining.
  • Suzy and Pietra: It's always the same before Christmas.
  • George Carlin: They groaned.
  • Suzy and Pietra: We feel so full, we feel so full.
  • Ash: Oh, come on!
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: Where's your festive spirit? Christmas day is almost here.
  • George Carlin: By the side of the track was a little cottage with a familiar figure waving to them.
  • Ash: It's Nora Shepard!
  • George Carlin: Whistled Ash.
  • Ash: Peep, peep! Happy Christmas!
  • George Carlin: Ash always felt better for seeing her.
  • Ash: Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without Nora.
  • George Carlin: He said to himself. When work was over, Ash went to see the other characters. All their coats had been polished.
  • Terry: Pooh!
  • George Carlin: Said Terry.
  • Terry: Just look at us. Your driver will have to work fast to get you as smart as us.
  • Ash: Never mind that.
  • George Carlin: Replied Ash.
  • Ash: I've something important to say. Do you realize it's been a whole year since Nora Shepard saved us from a nasty accident. You remember when she was ill in bed and...
  • Kevin: Yes of course.
  • George Carlin: Interrupted Kevin.
  • Kevin: You told us how she waved her red dressing gown out of her window to warn you about a landslide ahead.
  • Alex: And you and Jackie gave her presents.
  • George Carlin: Jackie joined in.
  • Rikochet: And Steven sent her to the seaside to get better.
  • Raimundo and Shaggy: But...
  • George Carlin: Said the other characters.
  • Raimundo and Shaggy: The rest of us never thanked her properly.
  • Ash: Exactly.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: So now I think we should all give her a special Christmas party.
  • George Carlin: Everyone was getting very excited and the drivers felt sure that Steven will agree as indeed he did. The characters were all busy making plans, when silence fell. Steven had bad news.
  • Steven: The weather's changed badly. Nora Shepard is snowed up. Jackie says he'll help to rescue her. You must help too, Ash. There's no party unless you do.
  • George Carlin: Ash hated snow, but he said bravely.
  • Ash: I'll try, sir. We must rescue her, we must.
  • Steven: There's a good boy. You and Jackie will manage splendidly.
  • George Carlin: Ash charged the snowdrifts fiercely. Sometimes he swept them aside, sometimes they stuck fast and the men had to loosen them. But at the cutting near the cottage, they could go no further.
  • Ash's Fireman: Look at that!
  • George Carlin: Exclaimed Ash's fireman.
  • Ash: Peep, peep! Here we are.
  • George Carlin: An answering wave came from an upstairs window. Then they heard a familiar sound.
  • Ash: That's Freakazoid.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: He's come to help too.
  • George Carlin: Sure enough, Freakazoid had a snowplough and was working hard to clear a patch to the railroad line to safety. At long last, the rescue was complete. Alex took the tired workmen home. Freakazoid said goodbye to Nora Shepard and promised to take care of her cottage as he watched them all set off. The characters made good time. No more snow had fallen, but the yard was dark. There was no one to be seen. Ash's heart sank. Suddenly, all the lights went on. What a marvelous site awaited Nora Shepard.
  • Steven: Well done!
  • George Carlin: Said Steven.
  • Steven: I'm really proud of you all.
  • George Carlin: Nora especially thanked the smaller characters.
  • Nora: Ash and Jackie are old friends.
  • George Carlin: She said.
  • Nora: And now Alex, you are my friend too.
  • George Carlin: Alex was very pleased.
  • Alex: Three cheers for Nora Shepard!
  • George Carlin: He called.
  • Alex: Peep, peep, peep!
  • George Carlin: They all whistled.
  • Characters: (singing) We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
  • George Carlin: Ash Ketchum and his friends thought it was the best Christmas ever and Nora Shepard could think of nowhere she would rather live than here with them on the land of YTV.

Ash and The Missing Christmas Tree

  • George Carlin: It was two days before Christmas. Many children were expected on the land of YTV. All the characters were busy with the final preparations. Steven wanted this year's carol party to be an extra special celebration. Steven was now waiting impatiently for Ash.
  • Steven: Quickly now.
  • George Carlin: He said.
  • Steven: Our Christmas tree has arrived just in time. I want you to fetch it, Ash. Virgil can look after Suzy and Pietra until you get back.
  • Ash: Will we be able to sing carols too?
  • George Carlin: Asked Ash.
  • Steven: We'll see.
  • George Carlin: Promised Steven.
  • Ash: It would be nice to sing carols again.
  • George Carlin: Sighed Ash as he set off on his important mission. Ash collected the tree safely but large snowdrifts lay ahead.
  • Ash: I mustn't be late.
  • George Carlin: He thought.
  • Ash: Steven is relying on me.
  • George Carlin: Whistling bravely, Ash tried to move. But he couldn't. There was worse to come. Ash was snowed under. Meanwhile the other characters waited and waited. They were grumbling about Ash for being late.
  • Steven: Silence!
  • George Carlin: Said Steven.
  • Steven: Ash left the works safely, but snow had brought the telephone lines down. We must assume he is stranded.
  • George Carlin: The characters now felt sorry for Ash and cold but confident the cells set off to the rescue. Suddenly, they came to a drift that was deeper than the rest.
  • Ash: Help!
  • Ozzy: Hush!
  • George Carlin: Said Ozzy.
  • Ozzy: I can hear something.
  • Drix: Probably the wind.
  • George Carlin: Said Drix.
  • Ash: Help!
  • Ozzy: No listen.
  • George Carlin: Insisted Ozzy.
  • Ash: Over here!
  • Drix: Oh, it's Ash. Come on the poor wee trainer must be frozen to the frames in there.
  • George Carlin: When the workmen arrived, it took some time to decide how to dig away the drifts of snow. Ash's driver and fireman, who had taken shelter at a nearby cottage, joined the rescue. At last, Ash and the precious Christmas tree were free from the snowdrift. Then they set off once more to finish their long journey. Steven greeted them warmly.
  • Steven: As a reward for all your hard work, you may go and enjoy the carols. Be quick now.
  • George Carlin: At the big station, all was soon ready.
  • Steven: One, two, three!
  • George Carlin: Suddenly like magic the station was flooded with lights.
  • Steven: Ladies and gentlemen and children, I give you three cheers for Ash Ketchum and all his friends who had made this occasion possible.
  • George Carlin: Then there was a familiar whirring sound. Alex and Jackie smiled, they knew who it was. With landing lights shining brightly, Superman touched down gently in the snow. Bringing the greatest surprise of all, Santa Claus. Everyone cheered and the party began.
  • Ash: It's no fun getting stuck in the snow.
  • George Carlin: Whispered Ash to Alex.
  • Ash: But it was worth it for this party. Happy holidays, Alex. Happy holidays, everyone.

  • George Carlin: Autumn had come to the land of YTV. The fields were changing from yellow stubble to brown earth and an tractor was hard at work as Ash puff along. Later Ash saw the tractor close by.
  • Freakazoid: Hello.
  • George Carlin: Said the tractor.
  • Freakazoid: I'm Freakazoid, I'm plowing.
  • Ash: I'm Ash, I'm pulling a train. What ugly wheels you got.
  • Freakazoid: They're not ugly, they're caterpillars.
  • George Carlin: Said Freakazoid.
  • Freakazoid: I can go anywhere. I don't need rails.
  • Ash: I don't want to go anywhere.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: I like my rails, thank you.
  • George Carlin: Winter came with dark clouds full of snow.
  • Driver: I don't like it.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash's driver.
  • Driver: A heavy fall is coming. I hope it doesn't stop us.
  • Ash: Huh!
  • George Carlin: Puffed Ash.
  • Ash: Soft stuff, nothing to it.
  • George Carlin: And he puffed on feeling cold but confident. They finished their journey safely but by now the country was covered.
  • Driver: You need your snowplough for the next journey, Ash.
  • George Carlin: Said his driver.
  • Ash: Huh! Snow is silly soft stuff it won't stop me.
  • George Carlin: The snowplough was heavy and uncomfortable and made Ash cross. He shook it and he banged it and when they got back it was so damaged that the driver had to take it off.
  • Driver: You're a very naughty boy.
  • George Carlin: He said to Ash. Next morning, Ash's driver and fireman came early and worked hard to mend the snowplough, but they couldn't make it fit. Ash was pleased.
  • Ash: I shan't have to wear it, I shan't have to wear it.
  • George Carlin: He puffed to Suzy and Pietra. But they were rather worried.
  • Suzy and Pietra: I hope it's all right, I hope it's all right.
  • George Carlin: They whispered to each other. The driver was worried too.
  • Driver: It's not bad here.
  • George Carlin: He said to the fireman.
  • Driver: But it's sure to be deep in the valley.
  • Ash: Silly soft stuff.
  • George Carlin: Huffed Ash.
  • Ash: I didn't need that stupid old thing yesterday and I shan't today. Snow can't stop me.
  • George Carlin: He rushed into a tunnel thinking how clever he was. But there was trouble ahead.
  • (Crash)
  • Ash: Cinders and ashes!.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: I'm stuck.
  • George Carlin: And he was.
  • Driver: Back, Ash, back.
  • George Carlin: Said his driver. Ash tried but his feet run and he couldn't move. The conductor went back for help while everyone else tried to dig the snow away. But as fast as they dug, more snow slipped down until Ash was nearly buried.
  • Ash: Oh, my wheels and coupling rods. I shall have to stop here till I'm frozen. What a silly boy I am.
  • George Carlin: And Ash began to cry. At last the bus came to rescue the passengers. And then who should come to Ash's rescue but Freakazoid. Snow never worries him.
  • (Freakazoid hooks up to Pietra and pulls her and Suzy out of the snow)
  • George Carlin: He pulled the empty coaches away, then came back for Ash. Ash's feet were clear but still spun when he tried to move. Freakazoid tugged and slipped and slipped and tugged and at last dragged Ash clear of the snow ready for the journey home.
  • (Freakazoid goes away into the tunnel with Ash following him)
  • Ash: Oh, thank you, Freakazoid. Your caterpillars are splendid.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Driver: I hope you'll be sensible now, Ash.
  • George Carlin: Said his driver.
  • Ash: I'll try.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash and he puffed slowly away.

Ash and Alex's Mountain Adventure

  • George Carlin: If someday you should see Ash Ketchum walking happily along the route, he may be on his way to a village nestled deep in the heart of the land of YTV. One November morning, Ash whistled to all his friends.
  • Ash: It's nearly Thanksgiving and I'll bring you lots of letters and parcels.
  • George Carlin: But then, an early snowstorm came. The land was covered with thick snow. The characters found work difficult. Some had to help clear snow from the track and workmen hacked away at the frozen banks of ice. Ash and Alex were collecting important mail for Thanksgiving.
  • Ash: Driver says there's of mail for the village.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: I'll need an extra car for it all.
  • George Carlin: Alex was feeling left out.
  • Alex: It's not fair, you're not leaving any mail for me.
  • George Carlin: But Alex's chance had come.
  • Ash's Driver: There's been a change of plan.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash's driver.
  • Ash's Driver: Steven needs us at the big station. Alex, you are to take Ash's train to the village.
  • George Carlin: Alex was delighted, but Ash was sad.
  • Ash: I won't be able to say happy Thanksgiving to all my friends.
  • Alex: Don't worry.
  • George Carlin: Said Alex kindly.
  • Alex: I'll do it for you.
  • Ash: It's not the same.
  • George Carlin: Sighed Ash. Alex was making good time on his way to the village when suddenly...
  • Alex's Driver: What's that?
  • George Carlin: Called his driver. There ahead was a fogman by the line. He was holding a red light.
  • Fogman: The village is cut off by the snow.
  • George Carlin: He shouted.
  • Fogman: We need snowploughs, workmen and a superman. Leave your cars on the sidings and go back quickly.
  • George Carlin: Alex was soon steaming to Superman's airfield.
  • Alex: Peep, peep!
  • George Carlin: Whistled Alex.
  • Alex: Wake up, lazy-wings, the mountain villagers need your help. They're stranded.
  • Superman: With so.
  • George Carlin: Replied Superman.
  • Superman: I like an emergency to keep me warm.
  • George Carlin: And he flew away.
  • Alex: Now.
  • George Carlin: Sighed Alex.
  • Alex: What's next?
  • George Carlin: Suddenly, there was Ash with Freakazoid and the works train.
  • Ash: Come on, Alex.
  • George Carlin: Whistled Ash.
  • Ash: Follow me.
  • George Carlin: The two characters battled their way through the snow. At last, they reached the village. Superman was already there busily dropping food for Thanksgiving dinner to the people below. Freakazoid quickly got to work.
  • Freakazoid: Lovely stuff.
  • George Carlin: He said as he pushed the snow aside.
  • Villagers: Well done, Alex. Well done, Ash.
  • George Carlin: Cheered the villagers.
  • Ash: Alex, I just remembered. Your mail train is still back at the siding isn't it?
  • George Carlin: Alex hurried back to fetch it. Just then, Jackie arrived with Kitana.
  • Jackie: We've brought lots of hot drinks and food for the villagers.
  • George Carlin: He whistled. That night all the characters had gone back to the sheds, except Jackie. The villagers had made a plan to thank the characters. They loaded paint pots and parcels into Kitana and then they set off through the moonlit countryside. All the characters were fast asleep in the sheds as Jackie ran slently into the yard. He had no idea what the villagers were going to do, but he knew it was going to be a big surprise. When the characters woke the next morning they could not belive their eyes. The sheds had been repainted and decorated. The characters whistled in delight and everyone agreed that it was a really happy Thanksgiving.

Special Hat

  • George Carlin: It was winter on the land of YTV. Froggo puffed nervously along the line. His hat had never been the same since his accident with some Beedrill. Now the biting wind was trying to blow it away.
  • Froggo: My hat feels wobbly.
  • George Carlin: He complained.
  • Froggo: I wish manager would hurry up with my new one. He says it would be something special.
  • Characters: You and your special funnel.
  • George Carlin: Laughed the other characters. The were fun to Froggo, but his special hat had become quite a joke. The winter wind grew worse. The rain came too turning hillside streams into torrents which threatened to wash the line away. Casey Matthews worked hard carrying workmen up and down the line. They were removing branches and trees so water could flow away. But one morning, Casey's driver brought bad news.
  • Casey's Driver: There's been a washout near the tunnel. The track bed had been swept away. We must repait the damage inmediately.
  • George Carlin: The important work took longer than it expected. As days went by, the weather changed. It became frosty and much colder. The workmen finished at last. Froggo was most careful as he took the morning train over the mended piece of track. Soon, he approached the tunnel. It was short and curved so his driver could not see right through it. Froggo was heading for trouble.
  • Froggo's Driver: There's something hanging from the roof.
  • George Carlin: Shouted his driver. Froggo came out of the tunnel a different looking character. He no longer had his hat.
  • Conductor: Here's what hit you, Froggo.
  • George Carlin: Called the conductor and he produced a think cold icicle. They set off again. But without his hat, the journey was very difficult. Then the fireman saw an old drain pipe lying beside the track.
  • Froggo's Fireman: We'll use that instead of your hat. At least it'll help control the smoke.
  • George Carlin: Froggo finished his journey with the drain pipe wired to his boiler. The other characters laughed and Gug sang a song about.
  • Gug: Froggo said again and again, his new hat will put ours to shame, went into a tunnel and lost his old hat now his famous new hat's a drain.
  • George Carlin: The teasing continue until at last the day came when his new hat arrived. Steven proudly presented it.
  • Froggo: Oh dear, someone squashed it.
  • George Carlin: Said Froggo. But Steven laughed.
  • Steven: Don't worry, Froggo. This hat is something special indeed. You'll soon see.
  • George Carlin: Froggo's new hat had special pipes which made puffing much easier.
  • Froggo: I feel stronger than ever before.
  • George Carlin: He hummed. Even Gug was impressed.
  • Gug: I can't understand it. Froggo just seems to stroll along the line. He makes work look so easy.
  • George Carlin: The characters don't laugh at Froggo's hat now. They wished they had one like it.

The Snow Song

  • Children: (singing) You wake to the silence the bright afterglow. Now there's a surprise for what do you know. It's snowing. Look, it's snowing. Little Jack Frost has been busy last night. The land of YTV is a blanket of white 'Cause it's snowing. Yes, it's snowing. White winter wonderland. Beautiful day. Snow, snow, snow, snow. Snow, snow, snow, snow. There in the valley someone you'll know. The Pokemon Trainer finds his way through the snow. Whistle blowing. Yes, it's snowing. It's a beautiful world; It's a lovely day. Cherish this moment, remember this day 'Cause it's snowing. Yes, it's snowing. White winter wonderland. Beautiful day. Snow, snow, snow, snow.
  • (Children laughing)
  • Children: (singing) White winter wonderland. Beautiful day. Snow, snow, snow, snow. Snow, snow, snow, snow. Stay, stay, please stay.
