It's Only Snow

  • Alec Baldwin: It's winter holiday time on the land of YTV. It's very cold, but the characters don't mind. They loved this time of year when the stations looked jolly in their decorations. There was plenty of work with passengers and parcels to be delivered no matter what the weather.
  • Kevin: Driver says there's more snow on the way.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Kevin.
  • Raimundo: We'll soon be wearing our snowploughs.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Raimundo.
  • Shaggy: You'll enjoy that. Won't you, Ash?
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Shaggy.
  • Ash: You know I wont.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: I don't like my snowplough.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sure enough that night, the wind blew and the snow fell heavily. The next morning, Steven arrived. He told the characters they would have snowploughs fitted.
  • Steven: And you are to collect a special from Callan Station. It's needed for the village feast on Jackie's branch line.
  • Alec Baldwin: Ash was excited about his special, but not about his snowplough.
  • Ash: Please sir. My plough is awkward and uncomfortable. Do I have to wear it?
  • Steven: Everyone has to wear a snowplough.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Steven. The fitters, his driver and fireman all helped with Ash's snowplough.
  • Ash's Driver: We'll have to try that again.
  • Alec Baldwin: Laughed his driver.
  • Ash: Big horrid awkward thing.
  • Alec Baldwin: Ash grumbled. He was much happier when he arrived at Callan Station and saw his special. It was a beautiful Christmas tree.
  • Kevin: The tree will have lights and stand in the middle of the village.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Kevin.
  • Kevin: Make sure you get it to Jackie safely.
  • Ash: I will.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Ash. Ash arrived at Maithwaite and Jackie was very happy to see him.
  • Jackie: The villagers will be delighted with this tree.
  • Alec Baldwin: Jackie said.
  • Jackie: I'm glad you had your snowplough. I can't clear the snowdrifts by myself.
  • Alec Baldwin: Ash couldn't see there was a huge rock buried under the snow. Suddenly, his snowplough hit the rock.
  • Ash: Bouncing buffers!
  • Alec Baldwin: Exclaimed Ash.
  • Ash: My plough is broken!
  • Alec Baldwin: His driver tried to stop but the broken plough hit the water tower.
  • Ash: Cinders and ashes!
  • Alec Baldwin: Exclaimed Ash.
  • Ash's Driver: We can't go any further.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Ash's driver.
  • Ash's Driver: And there's no one to help us.
  • Ash: But the villagers need their tree.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: Let me try again, I'm sure I can make it.
  • Alec Baldwin: It wasn't easy without a snowplough. But Ash was determined. He pushed and he pushed and he pushed. Ash was trying as hard as he could, but there was just one snowdrift after another. Finally, Ash and Jackie were pulling into the village station. Ash whistled and the villagers cheered when they saw their beautiful tree.
  • Villagers: Hooray!
  • Alec Baldwin: They said.
  • Villagers: Hooray!
  • Alec Baldwin: The next day, Steven sent for Ash. Ash was worried. What would Steven say about his broken snowplough? But Steven wasn't cross, he was very pleased.
  • Steven: The villagers had a wonderful feast.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Steven: You were very brave to take on that snow without a plough.
  • Ash: Thank you, sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Ash.
  • Steven: As you know...
  • Alec Baldwin: Continued Steven.
  • Steven: ...there are no spare snowploughs. So, you'll just have to do without yours for a while.
  • Ash: Oh, thank you, sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Grinned Ash.

Jack Frost

  • Alec Baldwin: It was an icy day on the land of YTV. The characters were working very hard. They didn't mind the cold because they had toasting hot fireboxes to keep them warm. That evening, Steven came to the sheds.
  • Steven: There's a big freeze coming tonight.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Steven: Raimundo and Alex are to deliver extra coal to the stations.
  • Raimundo and Alex: Yes, sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: They said eagerly and Steven drove away.
  • Ash: You better hurry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Ash.
  • Ash: Or scary Jack Frost might get you.
  • Alex: Who's Jack Frost?
  • Alec Baldwin: Alex whistled nervously.
  • Raimundo: Don't be so silly.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sniffed Raimundo.
  • Raimundo: Jack Frost is not scary.
  • Ash: Yes he is.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Ash.
  • Ash: He's all white with a big spiky face.
  • Raimundo: Rubbish!
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Raimundo. Raimundo knew Jack Frost wasn't scary, but poor Alex wasn't so sure. Alex shivered.
  • Alex: Jack Frost is not scary, Jack Frost is not scary, Jack Frost is not scary.
  • Alec Baldwin: Meanwhile, Raimundo puffed along his route.
  • Raimundo: Silly Alex.
  • Alec Baldwin: He thought.
  • Raimundo: All steamed up over Jack Frost.
  • Alec Baldwin: Alex made his last delivery. The stationmaster was very pleased to see him.
  • Stationmaster: Oh, Alex.
  • Alec Baldwin: He cried.
  • Stationmaster: We need twice as much coal to last through this freeze.
  • Alex: Don't worry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Alex said.
  • Alex: This is my last stop, you can have mine.
  • Alec Baldwin: So Alex's driver parked him in a siding with only a lantern for company.
  • Alex: Do you think scary Jack Frost will find me?
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Alex.
  • Alex's Driver: Jack Frost not scary.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuckled his driver.
  • Alex's Driver: And don't worry, Malinda will bring you some more coal in the morning.
  • Alec Baldwin: And then his driver and fireman went home to bed. Late at night, the icy wind howled. It started to snow. Soon, Alex's face was so cold, an icicle hung from his nose.
  • Alex: Oh, b-b-b-b-bother.
  • Alec Baldwin: Alex stuttered, but it didn't sound like Alex. It was so cold, he could hardly make a sound. At last, Raimundo was on his way back to the sheds. In the fog, he saw shadows and strange and scary shapes.
  • Raimundo: Scary Jack Frost.
  • Alec Baldwin: He whispered nervously.
  • Raimundo: Pah!
  • Alex: Hello, R-R-R-R-Raimundo.
  • Alec Baldwin: Muttered Alex icily.
  • Raimundo: Scary Jack Frost!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Raimundo and he raced away as fast as his feet could carry him. He didn't stop until he got back to the sheds. The next morning, Malinda brought plenty of coal.
  • Malinda: Oh my dear.
  • Alec Baldwin: Malinda chuffed to Alex.
  • Malinda: It looks like Jack Frost really got you.
  • Alec Baldwin: The firelighter started Alex's fire. Soon, his ice mask melted away.
  • Alex: So scary Jack Frost is only frost.
  • Alec Baldwin: Tooted Alex happily and soon he was as warm as toast. When Alex arrived at the sheds, Raimundo was bragging to the other characters.
  • Raimundo: I saw scary Jack Frost last night.
  • Alec Baldwin: Raimundo huffed.
  • Raimundo: He even knows my name.
  • Alex: He also knows that you ran away.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Alex and all the characters whistled including Raimundo. But Alex's was the loudest whistle of all.

Jackie Had A Little Mareep

  • Alec Baldwin: Winter on the land of YTV can be windy cold. When the cold wind blows, the characters can't wait to get back to the snug warm of Tidmouth Sheds.
  • Jackie: Bitter cold, bitter cold, bitter cold.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuffed Jackie.
  • Jackie: Still, I'll soon be back in my nice dry shed.
  • Alec Baldwin: But suddenly, Jackie's driver applied the brakes. He could see Ethan standing neat deep in snow. He was waving a red flag.
  • Ethan: Mah phone lines are down, all the roads are blocked and my sheep had just started lambing.
  • Alec Baldwin: Ethan said.
  • Ethan: They're trapped on the hillside, cut off by the snow.
  • Jackie: What can we do to help?
  • Alec Baldwin: Jackie chuffed.
  • Ethan: I need a doctor as quickly as possible.
  • Jackie's Driver: We'll stop at the next signalbox.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Jackie's Driver.
  • Jackie's Driver: I'll phone the doctor from there.
  • Alec Baldwin: Jackie raced to the signalbox and the driver phoned ahead to the station. Steven and the doctor were waiting for Jackie as he arrived.
  • Jackie: Ethan's lambs are stranded on the hillside!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Jackie.
  • Jackie: We've got to rescue them!
  • Steven: So we shall.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Steven.
  • Steven: I'll send Virgil right away. This is a job for an character with a snowplough.
  • Alec Baldwin: Jackie knew Virgil was the right character for the job. He was very powerful.
  • Jackie: Hurry!
  • Alec Baldwin: Jackie called anxiously, as Virgil chuffed out of the station. But so much snow had fallen, the tracks ahead were blocked.
  • Virgil's Driver: We can't go on.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Virgil's driver grimly.
  • Virgil's Driver: We'll have to go back.
  • Alec Baldwin: Jackie was surprised to see Virgil return to the station.
  • Virgil: I tried my hardest.
  • Alec Baldwin: Puffed Virgil.
  • Virgil: But the weather's getting worse.
  • Virgil's Driver: Even Virgil's snowplough can't get through.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his driver. Then, Jackie had an idea.
  • Jackie: My old branch line runs out there, sir, remember?
  • Steven: It's far too dangerous.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Steven.
  • Steven: It would never carry Virgil's weight.
  • Jackie: It might take my weight.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Jackie.
  • Jackie: And I know that line on the back of my buffers.
  • Alec Baldwin: He added.
  • Jackie: It's our only chance to help the lambs.
  • Alec Baldwin: Steven agreed, but he told Jackie to be very careful. Soon, a blizzard was howling. Jackie's driver was worried.
  • Jackie: I can do it.
  • Alec Baldwin: Called Jackie.
  • Jackie: As long as these rails hold.
  • Alec Baldwin: But Jackie had forgotten about the rickety old bridge.
  • Jackie: Help! My feet are wobbling!
  • Alec Baldwin: He cried. His driver fought for control as Jackie struggled on.
  • Jackie: I've got to reach the other side of this bridge.
  • Alec Baldwin: Gasped Jackie.
  • Jackie: Those lambs need me.
  • Alec Baldwin: Ethan was waiting. It was very cold. Suddenly, a ghostly glowing eye shone from the snowstorm. It was Jackie's headlamp.
  • Ethan: You've made it!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Ethan.
  • Ethan: What a brave character you are.
  • Alec Baldwin: The doctor and Ethan went to find the lambs. But they soon returned.
  • Dr. Proctor: The lambs are safe and sound, Jackie.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said the doctor.
  • Dr. Proctor: But we need a place now to keep the little ones warm.
  • Alec Baldwin: Jackie smiled.
  • Jackie: I'll think you'll find Kitana as plenty of room.
  • Alec Baldwin: Jackie stayed for several days just to make sure the lambs were all right. Ethan was very grateful.
  • Ethan: Thank you, Jackie.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Ethan: We could've done it without you.
  • Jackie: Thank you.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Jackie.
  • Jackie: There's nothing I like better than helping out a friend in need.

Snow

  • Alec Baldwin: It was wintertime on the land of YTV. The snow covered fields and railway lines. All the characters were hard at work, except Alex.
  • Ash: Come on, Alex, this is no time to have a rest.
  • Alex: I'm stuck.
  • Alec Baldwin: Moaned Alex.
  • Alex: And my head's freezing up. Driver's gone for help.
  • Ash: Hah!
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed Ash and went on his way. Later, Ash had to help clear snow by a tunnel. But it was too deep and he got stuck. Ash was very cross.
  • Ash: Snow is nothing but trouble.
  • Alec Baldwin: He moaned. Casey was close by.
  • Casey: Driver says this winter is as bad as the worse winter of all.
  • Ash: How worse?
  • Alec Baldwin: Asked Ash.
  • Casey: I'll tell you.
  • Alec Baldwin: Replied Casey and then the little character did. Rikochet was working the line to the slate mine in the mountains. When the snow came, it was difficult to work. They used the snow as a double buffer zone to help stop Beedrill skidding through the ravine. One day, Rikochet set off to the mine with some empty Beedrill. Meanwhile, there was trouble at the mine. The winch that holds the cars up and down wasn't working properly. Alex had reached the ravine. High above him were the mine yards.
  • Driver: That snow looks dangerous.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his driver.
  • Driver: The sound of your engine and the Beedrill could cause an avalanche. I'll set up an emergency cap and see what happens.
  • Alec Baldwin: Rikochet watched as the driver prepared it. Then they ran over the cap. (Boom!) The bang echoed around the gorge. Nothing happened.
  • Driver: Good.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his driver.
  • Driver: All's well. We'll have a cup of cocoa and then make our way.
  • Alec Baldwin: But high above them, all was not well. A long line of full Beedrill was about be winched down the slope. They had just started their journey when some empty Beedrill became derailed. The winch groaned.
  • Beedrill: Break it, snap it.
  • Alec Baldwin: Shouted the Beedrill and they did.
  • Beedrill: On, on, faster, faster!
  • Alec Baldwin: They giggled.
  • Workman: The snowbank and buffers will stop them.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said a workman. But he was wrong. The Beedrill plunged into the ravine. Rikochet and his driver heard the noise and looked up.
  • Driver: Avalanche!
  • Alec Baldwin: They cried.
  • (The avalanche starts to bury Rikochet completely)
  • Alec Baldwin: When the snow ploomed clear, there was no sign of Rikochet. He was buried deep inside the high drift blocking the ravine.
  • Casey: And then came the funny part.
  • Ash: What's the funny part about an avalanche?
  • Alec Baldwin: Asked Ash.
  • Casey: Well...
  • Alec Baldwin: No one knew that the heat from Rikochet's body had helped to make an igloo.
  • Men: It's a snowball, it's a snowhouse, it's a boy.
  • Alec Baldwin: They cleared away the ice only to find Rikochet's driver and fireman drinking cocoa as if nothing had happened.
  • Ash: Lucky for him. But it just goes to show you can't trust Beedrill.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Ash.
  • Casey: Or snow.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Casey. The men had just cleared the snow away from him when Terry puffed by with his machine.
  • Terry: Hey look out, there's snow about.
  • Alec Baldwin: He stopped by the tunnel and wheeshed loudly. Then it happened.
  • Terry: Oh no.
  • (The avalanche falls on top of Terry, completely burying him)
  • Terry: Help!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Terry.
  • Ash: If Rikochet survived the snowfall, surely a big proud man like you can do the same.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuckled Ash.
  • Terry: Pah!
  • Alec Baldwin: Moaned Terry from within and then fell as silent as the snow.

Ash's Christmas Party

  • George Carlin: It was Christmas on the land of YTV. All the characters were working hard. Ash and Jackie were busy carrying people and parcels up and down the branch line. Everyone was happy. Only the coaches Suzy and Pietra were complaining.
  • Suzy and Pietra: It's always the same before Christmas.
  • George Carlin: They groaned.
  • Suzy and Pietra: We feel so full, we feel so full.
  • Ash: Oh, come on!
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: Where's your festive spirit? Christmas day is almost here.
  • George Carlin: By the side of the track was a little cottage with a familiar figure waving to them.
  • Ash: It's Nora Shepard!
  • George Carlin: Whistled Ash.
  • Ash: Peep, peep! Happy Christmas!
  • George Carlin: Ash always felt better for seeing her.
  • Ash: Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without Nora.
  • George Carlin: He said to himself. When work was over, Ash went to see the other characters. All their coats had been polished.
  • Terry: Pooh!
  • George Carlin: Said Terry.
  • Terry: Just look at us. Your driver will have to work fast to get you as smart as us.
  • Ash: Never mind that.
  • George Carlin: Replied Ash.
  • Ash: I've something important to say. Do you realize it's been a whole year since Nora Shepard saved us from a nasty accident. You remember when she was ill in bed and...
  • Kevin: Yes of course.
  • George Carlin: Interrupted Kevin.
  • Kevin: You told us how she waved her red dressing gown out of her window to warn you about a landslide ahead.
  • Alex: And you and Jackie gave her presents.
  • George Carlin: Jackie joined in.
  • Rikochet: And Steven sent her to the seaside to get better.
  • Raimundo and Shaggy: But...
  • George Carlin: Said the other characters.
  • Raimundo and Shaggy: The rest of us never thanked her properly.
  • Ash: Exactly.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: So now I think we should all give her a special Christmas party.
  • George Carlin: Everyone was getting very excited and the drivers felt sure that Steven will agree as indeed he did. The characters were all busy making plans, when silence fell. Steven had bad news.
  • Steven: The weather's changed badly. Nora Shepard is snowed up. Jackie says he'll help to rescue her. You must help too, Ash. There's no party unless you do.
  • George Carlin: Ash hated snow, but he said bravely.
  • Ash: I'll try, sir. We must rescue her, we must.
  • Steven: There's a good boy. You and Jackie will manage splendidly.
  • George Carlin: Ash charged the snowdrifts fiercely. Sometimes he swept them aside, sometimes they stuck fast and the men had to loosen them. But at the cutting near the cottage, they could go no further.
  • Ash's Fireman: Look at that!
  • George Carlin: Exclaimed Ash's fireman.
  • Ash: Peep, peep! Here we are.
  • George Carlin: An answering wave came from an upstairs window. Then they heard a familiar sound.
  • Ash: That's Freakazoid.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: He's come to help too.
  • George Carlin: Sure enough, Freakazoid had a snowplough and was working hard to clear a patch to the railroad line to safety. At long last, the rescue was complete. Alex took the tired workmen home. Freakazoid said goodbye to Nora Shepard and promised to take care of her cottage as he watched them all set off. The characters made good time. No more snow had fallen, but the yard was dark. There was no one to be seen. Ash's heart sank. Suddenly, all the lights went on. What a marvelous site awaited Nora Shepard.
  • Steven: Well done!
  • George Carlin: Said Steven.
  • Steven: I'm really proud of you all.
  • George Carlin: Nora especially thanked the smaller characters.
  • Nora: Ash and Jackie are old friends.
  • George Carlin: She said.
  • Nora: And now Alex, you are my friend too.
  • George Carlin: Alex was very pleased.
  • Alex: Three cheers for Nora Shepard!
  • George Carlin: He called.
  • Alex: Peep, peep, peep!
  • George Carlin: They all whistled.
  • Characters: (singing) We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
  • George Carlin: Ash Ketchum and his friends thought it was the best Christmas ever and Nora Shepard could think of nowhere she would rather live than here with them on the land of YTV.

Ash and The Missing Christmas Tree

  • George Carlin: It was two days before Christmas. Many children were expected on the land of YTV. All the characters were busy with the final preparations. Steven wanted this year's carol party to be an extra special celebration. Steven was now waiting impatiently for Ash.
  • Steven: Quickly now.
  • George Carlin: He said.
  • Steven: Our Christmas tree has arrived just in time. I want you to fetch it, Ash. Virgil can look after Suzy and Pietra until you get back.
  • Ash: Will we be able to sing carols too?
  • George Carlin: Asked Ash.
  • Steven: We'll see.
  • George Carlin: Promised Steven.
  • Ash: It would be nice to sing carols again.
  • George Carlin: Sighed Ash as he set off on his important mission. Ash collected the tree safely but large snowdrifts lay ahead.
  • Ash: I mustn't be late.
  • George Carlin: He thought.
  • Ash: Steven is relying on me.
  • George Carlin: Whistling bravely, Ash tried to move. But he couldn't. There was worse to come. Ash was snowed under. Meanwhile the other characters waited and waited. They were grumbling about Ash for being late.
  • Steven: Silence!
  • George Carlin: Said Steven.
  • Steven: Ash left the works safely, but snow had brought the telephone lines down. We must assume he is stranded.
  • George Carlin: The characters now felt sorry for Ash and cold but confident the cells set off to the rescue. Suddenly, they came to a drift that was deeper than the rest.
  • Ash: Help!
  • Ozzy: Hush!
  • George Carlin: Said Ozzy.
  • Ozzy: I can hear something.
  • Drix: Probably the wind.
  • George Carlin: Said Drix.
  • Ash: Help!
  • Ozzy: No listen.
  • George Carlin: Insisted Ozzy.
  • Ash: Over here!
  • Drix: Oh, it's Ash. Come on the poor wee trainer must be frozen to the frames in there.
  • George Carlin: When the workmen arrived, it took some time to decide how to dig away the drifts of snow. Ash's driver and fireman, who had taken shelter at a nearby cottage, joined the rescue. At last, Ash and the precious Christmas tree were free from the snowdrift. Then they set off once more to finish their long journey. Steven greeted them warmly.
  • Steven: As a reward for all your hard work, you may go and enjoy the carols. Be quick now.
  • George Carlin: At the big station, all was soon ready.
  • Steven: One, two, three!
  • George Carlin: Suddenly like magic the station was flooded with lights.
  • Steven: Ladies and gentlemen and children, I give you three cheers for Ash Ketchum and all his friends who had made this occasion possible.
  • George Carlin: Then there was a familiar whirring sound. Alex and Jackie smiled, they knew who it was. With landing lights shining brightly, Superman touched down gently in the snow. Bringing the greatest surprise of all, Santa Claus. Everyone cheered and the party began.
  • Ash: It's no fun getting stuck in the snow.
  • George Carlin: Whispered Ash to Alex.
  • Ash: But it was worth it for this party. Happy holidays, Alex. Happy holidays, everyone.
