Ash and Brock[]

  • Ringo Starr: Ash is a Pokemon trainer, who lives at the Puzzle University on Puzzle League Village. He's a cheeky little trainer with six small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler and a short stumpy dome. He's a fussy little trainer too. Always pulling coaches about ready for the big trainers can take on long journeys. And when trains come in, he pulls the empty coaches away so that the big trainers can go on rest. Ash thinks no trainer works has hard as he does. He loves playing tricks on them, including Brock the biggest and proudest trainer of all. Thomas likes whistling rudely at him.
  • Ash: Wake up, lazybones. Why don't you work hard like me?
  • Ringo Starr: One day after pulling the big express, Brock had arrived back on the sidings very tired. He was just going to sleep when Ash came up in his cheeky way.
  • Ash: Wake up, lazybones. Do some hard work for a change. You can't catch me!
  • Ringo Starr: And off he ran laughing. Instead of going to sleep again, Brock thought how he can back at Ash. One morning, Ash wouldn't wake up. His driver and fireman couldn't make him start. His fire went out and there was not enough steam. It was nearly time for the express. People are waiting, but the coaches weren't ready. At last, Ash started.
  • Ash: Oh dear, oh dear!
  • Ringo Starr: He yawned. He fussed into the station where Brock was waiting.
  • Brock: Hurry up, you!
  • Ringo Starr: Said Brock.
  • Ash: Hurry yourself.
  • Ringo Starr: Replied Ash. Brock began making his plan.
  • Brock: Yes.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Brock.
  • Brock: I will.
  • Ringo Starr: And almost before the coaches had stopped moving, Brock reversed quickly and was coupled to the train.
  • Brock: Get in quickly, please!
  • Ringo Starr: He whistled. Ash usually pushed behind the big trains to help them start, but he was always uncoupled first. This time, Brock start so quickly they forgot to uncouple Ash. Brock's chance had come.
  • Brock: Come on, come on!
  • Ringo Starr: Puffed Brock to the coaches. The train went faster and faster. Too fast for Ash, he wanted to stop, but he couldn't.
  • Ash: Peep peep! Stop, stop!
  • Brock: Hurry, hurry, hurry!
  • Ringo Starr: Laughed Brock.
  • Coaches: You can't get away, you can't get away!
  • Ringo Starr: Laughed the coaches. Poor Ash was going faster than he had ever gone before. He was out of breath and his feet hurt him, but he had to go on.
  • Ash: I shall never be the same again.
  • Ringo Starr: He thought sadly.
  • Ash: My feet will be quite worn out.
  • Ringo Starr: At last, they stopped at the station. Ash was uncoupled and he felt very silly and exhausted. Next he went on to the turntable thinking of everyone laughing at him. And then he ran on to a siding out of the way.
  • Brock: Well, little Ash.
  • Ringo Starr: Chuckled Brock.
  • Brock: Now you know what hard work means, don't you?
  • Ringo Starr: Poor Ash couldn't answer. He had no breath. He just puffed slowly away to rest and had a long long drink. He went home very slowly and was careful afterwards never to be cheeky to Brock again.

Danny and Brock[]

  • Ringo Starr: One day, Danny was at the library where he lived with the other trainers. They were all bigger than Danny and boasted about it.
  • Brock: The driver won't choose you again.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Brock.
  • Brock: He wants strong trainers like us.
  • Ringo Starr: But the driver and fireman felt sorry for Danny.
  • Driver: Would you like to come out today?
  • Danny: Oh yes, please.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Danny. So they lit his fire, made lots of steam and Danny puff away. The other trainers were very cross of being left behind. Danny worked hard all day. The coaches thought he was very kind and the driver was very pleased.
  • Danny: I'm going out again tomorrow.
  • Ringo Starr: Danny told the other trainers that night.
  • Danny: What do you think at that?
  • Ringo Starr: But he didn't hear what they thought, for he was so tired and happy that he fell asleep at once. Next morning, Danny woke up to find nothing had change. Brock was still boasting.
  • Brock: You watch me, Danny, as I rush through with the express. That will be a splendid sight for you. Goodbye, Danny. Look out for me this afternoon.
  • Ringo Starr: Danny went off to do some shunting. Danny like shunting. It was fun playing with Beedrill. He would come out quietly and gave them a push. Then he would stop, and the silly Beedrill will go bump into the each other.
  • Beedrill: Oh!
  • Ringo Starr: They cried.
  • Beedrill: Whatever is happening?
  • Ringo Starr: Danny played till there were no more Beedrill. Then he stopped to rest. Presently, he heard a whistle. Brock was very cross. Instead of pulling shiny new coaches, he was pulling a very dirty Beedrill.
  • Brock: A goods train, a goods train, a goods train!
  • Ringo Starr: He grumbled.
  • Brock: The shame of it, the shame of it, oh, the shame of it!
  • Ringo Starr: Danny laughed and went to find some more Beedrill. Then, there was trouble.
  • Porter: Brock can't get up the hill.
  • Ringo Starr: The porter called to Danny's Driver.
  • Porter: Will you take Danny and push him please?
  • Ringo Starr: They found Brock halfway up, and very cross. His driver and fireman were talking to him severly.
  • Driver: You're not trying.
  • Brock: I can't do it!
  • Ringo Starr: Said Brock.
  • Brock: The noisy Beedrill hold a trainer back so!
  • Ringo Starr: Danny's driver came up.
  • Driver: We've come to push.
  • Brock: No use at all!
  • Ringo Starr: Said Brock.
  • Driver: You wait and see.
  • Ringo Starr: Replied Danny's driver. They brought the train back to the bottom of the hill.
  • Danny: I'm ready.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Danny.
  • Brock: No good.
  • Ringo Starr: Grumbled Brock. They pulled and pushed as hard as they could.
  • Brock: I can't do it, I can't do it, I can't do it!
  • Ringo Starr: Puffed Brock.
  • Danny: I will do it, I will do it, I will do it!
  • Ringo Starr: Puffed Danny. Danny pushed and puffed and puffed and pushed as hard as ever he could. And almost before he realized it, Brock found himself at the top of the hill.
  • Brock: I've done it, I've done it, I've done it!
  • Ringo Starr: He said proudly. He forgot all about Danny and didn't have to wait to say thank you. Danny was left out of breath and far behind. He ran off to the next station and there he found that the driver and fireman were very pleased with him. The fireman gave him a nice long drink and the driver said.
  • Driver: I'll get out my paint tomorrow, and give you your beautiful coat of blue with red stripes, then you'll be the smartest trainer in the shed.
