Asteroid belt in VESS

The asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter orbit contains over one million inhabitants, and is divided three-way between the United Earth Regime, League of Planets, and Outworld Alliance. It is a major source of conflict in the universe of Void of Earth's Solar System. There is an asteroid mining industry in the belt, and competition for natural resources is a reason for the Regime-League-Alliance three-way conflict. The local belt is also home to Ceres (see Ceres in VESS), a dwarf planet that is a member of the Alliance.
