The Atrician Calendar is a 384 day calendar based on twelve months of thirty-two days each. There are four seasons, each spanning three months. Each month is broken down into four weeks of eight days. The current calendar was created by King Davis Koontz-Beldrocks XI in 1521ivA and established as the calendar for the whole of Atrica in 16vA by King Reinhart Therlieinner-Beldrocks I.

Ages of Mortality

Within the last 10,000 years, the world has changed much from when scholars believe that the gods walked across the planet, forming the world into existence. Since then, scholars agree that five major ages have come and gone, though lesser ages are still disputed.

Earlier Ages

"Cataclysm's Arrival"

-21,821oA to -1oA

This time period is often referred to as the Forgotten Times. Not even the records of the elves extend back this far, and only speculation can be made by the best of scholars. It is rumored to have been a period of time when gods walked hand in hand with the fledgling mortals.

Noteworthy
  • Soltham, Slumbering God of Ruin and Destruction, is believed to have been active in this age.

First Age

1iA to 1157iA

An "Age of Chaos" The Ages of Chaos are distinguished from each other by their various catastrophic events. Though none would destroy civilization, there were few strong, centralized governments during these ages.

Noteworthy
  • This age is marked by a heavy volume of ash or pyroclastic flow, implying a massive volcanic eruption. Sources point to a volcano near the island of Prathis.

Second Age

An "Age of Chaos"

1iiA to 1944iiA

The Ages of Chaos are distinguished from each other by their various catastrophic events. Though none would destroy civilization, there were few strong, centralized governments during these ages.

Noteworthy
  • This age is marked with a thick layer of fossilized sea life. This indicates that a massive flood covered almost seventy percent of landmass.

Third Age

An "Age of Chaos"

1iiiA to 1110iiiA

The Ages of Chaos are distinguished from each other by their various catastrophic events. Though none would destroy civilization, there were few strong, centralized governments during these ages.

Noteworthy
  • This age is not marked at it's end by a cataclysm, but the first recordings of legal actions taken by the Tribunals of Tenacis.

Fourth Age

"Age of Yonis"

1ivA to 1548ivA

During the age of Yonis, the original grand nation came to power and rose to conquer Atrica. The long, involved war it waged with the previous super-power, the Gathering Councils of Tenacis, the Yonis Council of Elders. Eventually, after the defeat of Tenacis, Yonis enjoyed several centuries of peace and inevitable decadence. By this point, the Dominan had arrived in the south of the continent. They openly challenged the place of Yonis. The eventual war tore the Dominan Empire apart, causing a three sided conflict. The doomed nation of Yonis was no match for the war being waged between the Dominan and their fallen Darkeners. This is known as the Darkener's War. At the end of this age, the Nation of Beldrocks rose to power on the heels of Yonis's fall from grace. Choosing to side with the Dominan, the two nations exchanged troops and arms and defeated the Darkeners.

Noteworthy
  • Beldrocks was founded during this time, as was Rebelissio, Ariton, and Namnagar.

Fifth Age

"Age of Enlightenment"

1vA to 1355vA

The Fifth Age gave rise to more recorded nations than the previous ages could. In spite of this, few nations have spawned into the myriad assortment on the continent at this point. With the advent of reliable sailing vessels, contact with other colonies and cultures allowed Atrica to advance technologically and magically faster than previously able. Dotted with occasional border wars and continental conflict, Atrica is a thriving place that has a standard of living currently better than any previous time period.

Noteworthy
  • This is the current age.

Sixth Age

1viA to 1284viA
