[edit] Welcome to BECA 670!

This is a place for Radio & Television majors at San Francisco State University to tell their stories, and share resources and information about life on campus.

[edit] How I Got Here

My name is Marie. I was once a confused Etruscan history/extraterrestrial biology double major. Then I realized I had a deep and abiding passion for daytime television. I changed majors and finally feel I am on the right path.

It looks like I'm the first student to join the Broadcasting Electronic Communication Arts (BECA)670 wikia! My name is Josephina Antonia Maria Dominguez Perez, most people call me Josie for short. One of my passions is to change the world using media. I believe that the universe has put me here at this time for a reason. We shall see!

I really like the positive attitude in Josie's entry and am slightly envious of her prodigious moniker as well. I guess I could add some stuff to my own name if I wanted but what I really want is to know why our professor thought some Italian ancestors came from outer space. Mike

Hmm? (I'm the professor mentioned above.) How is majoring in Etruscan History and also majoring in extraterrestrial biology the same thing as thinking Italians come from outer space?
Wait, so they don't?

I'm Tauri, I love pizza but I don't like sharing. I am aspiring to be a writer although I began my journey trying to be a psychologist... and then a biologist. Well it has been a crazy four years but I'm finally getting my writing off to a start. Everyone should check out some of my work.

Hola!!! This is Lorena I am from Colombia and have been living in the U.S for the last 10 crazy years of my existence. Can't say for sure what is going to happen once I graduate in May but one thing is for sure, success is just around the corner. I believe in myself, and I certainly believe that everything happens for a reason; so, I encourage you to believe that anything is possible and that each moment is a step towards that higher purpose.

What's happening everybody? This is Josh. I am a student at San Francisco State and am enrolled in the BECA department. It is awesome. I like long walks on the beach and am a HUGE A's fan. This class is one of the more interesting and fun one's that I've had thus far in my academic career. Right on to all.

What's up fellow BECA majors and 670 classmates?!? This is Grant. Like everyone else in class, I'm also a BECA major here at San Francisco State. I enjoy listening to my favorite music on the radio, music CDs, and iPod, watching TV, and I'm a Giants fan. I agree with Josh that BECA 670 is an interesting and fun (and challenging) class that I ever enrolled in.

Hello. My name is John. I wasn't a BECA major when I got to this school, and had to jump through 110 hoops to become one. I'm glad I did though because a lot of classes I had before worked well. If you're a BECA major and didn't do the Media and Social Issues cluster III. I pretty much don't know what you're thinking.

Hey this is Amanda McAneney, normally known as Amanda Mac. I like whiskey on the rocks, taking photos on my I-Mac using photo booth, and hosting hearty games of poker and my house every week. I want to be a writer for the E! channel, and if that doesn't work I am going to take a shot at writing my own book. This is a link to my blog

Hey everyone! My name is Claudia Novoa and I would like to take you on my Journey to Success. My passion for television journalism stems way back from when I was a little girl. Where my wanderlust will take me? I have no idea but I look forward to the journey I have set for myself.

What up, people? I'm Tony Fantano and I am just trying to live. My parents and God have been the biggest support in my life. When I left Scripps Ranch High School (home of the celebrated Falcons), I moved up all by myself to San Francisco and began my mission to create and make a positive impact on people's lives. Along my journey I produced: Golden Gator Rockers.

Yo, my name is Caleb and I can tell you how to live your life. I may not be doing it right on my own account, but I have hope for you. Life is a breeze, so fucking deal with it...That doesn't really roll off the tongue like I thought it would. It's a work in progress.

Greetings, I'm Shira. I'm an urban ninja studentista who enjoys the treasures that San Francisco has to offer--the views, the 'hoods, the hole in the wall eateries, the many coffee houses, and the pedestrian friendliness. I've dabbled in various forms of media, done quite a bit of traveling, and am close to wrapping up my windy academic career. I've made good use of many of San Francisco State University's resources (ranging from the obvious to the not-so-obvious) and am delighted to share some of them with you.

Howdy all, I'm Jesse. I would like to think of some really deep reason for being in BECA, rather than expressing my love for all things music and/or sports related. But, in the end, those are the things I really enjoy. Well, those and scotch. Did you know that you don't receive your diploma for a good six months after you "graduate?" Did you also know that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalkers dad? OH NOOOOOO, I ruined it for everyone. Aww, suck it up. Put a Care Bears band-aid on it and everything will be fine in the morning.

Hey this is Jeannine. Guess what? I'm a BECA student, and I'm in this class too! Unlike most of my classmates, I have not made good use of my SFSU resources. But I have had some pretty awesome times anyway, so I think I turned out alright.

Hello! I’m Veronica G, a BECA major with an emphasis in Video Production. Although I love learning all aspects of Broadcasting, when I first arrived at SFSU I had no idea what I wanted to major. I found myself exploring Geography, Criminal Justice, and La RAZA studies. But exploring my interest in other departments did not matter because neither one caught my attention like BECA did. And so, as a Radio & Television major in the BECA program, I will share a little bit about myself as well as share the resources I use, which have helped me succeed in this department.

Hey Beautifuls! My name is Reid. I attend class with all of you--go figure. Now I'm suppose to say something about myself. Well, I guess I moved here to San Francisco about half a year ago to study writing for television. I don't think I need to go into the 30 wizards and the Cyborg King I had to defeat to get here, but let's just say, I earned my spinning chair in class just like the rest of you.

Hey Everyone! I'm James, a BECA major with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism. I am interested in this program because being in front of the camera is something that I've been wanting to do. Although I might not have started as a BECA major, I slowly transitioned from being an undeclared student to a member of a program that I enjoy every moment being a part of everyday. You'll get to learn more about me, just keep reading.

Ciao Tutti! You can call me Sharon, obviously a BECA student as well. Every now and then, I get distracted and actually forget to eat and sometimes I can't get myself to sleep. But on average I eat, sleep, and repeat, just like everyone else.
