(Bål´•thĕ•zår) b. c. 47 BCE, d. c. 35 CE; Ba’alethazir was Zoroastrian Magus of the 13th degree. One of three commissioned by the astronomical observatory at Nineveh to search for the Israelite Master born in Judea in 4 BCE and discovered Joshua ben Yusef at Bethlehem. He was responsible for evacuating Joshua and his family to Alexandria. He took up residency with the family at the Ormus School in that city.
