On a summer day, four young children named Derek, Michael, Tina and Min are building a sand castle in their backyard. When they wish they could visit a real castle, Barney comes to life and takes the children to a magical forest. They hear echoes and meet a friendly elf named Twynkle who likes to play games and make new friends. She shows them the road to the castle where they ride pretend horses and meet a real king named Old King Cole! But Old King Cole has a day-off from ruling his kingdom, so he decides to go fishing. While Old King Cole is away, Barney becomes the king and the kids are princes and princesses and they take good care of his castle with Barney’s best friend, Princess Baby Bop, before he returns.

Plot
