  • (We open up, and see the outside of the school, and we see Barney walking in the school, to find books about "Magical Islands")
  • Barney: sees viewer(s)) Oh, hi everybody! I'm going in the school, to find books about "Magical Islands." (goes in school, and finds book.) Here it is, and here's a rhyme I like about this book: Magical Islands are filled with magic, each of them has one, so we go to one of them. (hears BJ's whistle) Do you know who that sounded like? That sounded like BJ. It's coming from outside. (fades outside) Hi BJ!
  • BJ: Hi Barney!
  • Barney: What are you doing?
  • BJ: I'm pretending to sail over the ocean. Would you like to join me?
  • Barney: Sure! (Barney gets on playground, and music starts for "Row, Row, Row Your Boat.")
  • Barney: Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream. Merily, merily, merily, life is but a dream. (to viewer(s)) Now, sing along with us.
  • Barney & BJ: Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream. Merily, merily, merily, life is but a dream.
  • Barney: (to viewer(s)) Keep rowing, everybody.
  • Barney & BJ: Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream. Merily, merily, merily, life is but a dream. (music ends)
  • Barney: That was fun!
  • BJ: Yeah! But there is one thing I want to do today.
  • Barney: What's that, BJ?
  • BJ: Go on a treasure hunt.
  • Barney: Maybe we can.
  • BJ: How?
  • Barney: By using our imaginations. We can set sail "Magical Island."
  • BJ: All right! But we don't have a boat.
  • Barney: That shoudn't be a problem. (does magic, and there at a boat dock, and Barney's boat is there. Barney & BJ have sailor hats.) Now BJ, are we ready?
  • BJ: Yeah! (Barney & BJ climb in boat, and music for "Let's Go On An Adventure" starts)
  • Barney: Let's go on an adventure, a sailing adventure. There's a great big world to explore.
  • Barney & BJ: Let's go on an adventure, a sailing adventure. For fun, surprises and more.
  • BJ: We can pretend that we're sailing, on a sailing ship. Or pretend we're climbing a mountain. We can go anywhere. Let's take a trip.
  • Barney & BJ: Let's go on an adventure, a sailing adventure. There's a great big world to explore. Let's go on an adventure, a sailing adventure. For fun, surprises and more.
  • Barney: We can pretend we're flying, in a hot air balloon. Or pretend we're in a rocket. We can go anywhere, even the moon.
  • Barney & BJ: Let's go on an adventure, a sailing adventure. There's a great big world to explore. Let's on an adventure, a sailing adventure. For fun, surprises and more. Let's go on an adventure, a sailing adventure. For fun, surprises and more. (music ends, and fades to "Magical Island.")
  • BJ: Wow! This is "Magical Island," Barney?
  • Barney: It sure is! (music starts for "That's What An Island Is.") Very far away from the homes we know is a very sunny place where it's fun to go. You can't get here with a car or train. But when you look around, you'll be glad you came.
  • BJ: This place is called an island and it's plain to see. It's got an ocean and a beach and greenery. Imagine all the fun things that we'll find out, as we see what an island is all about.
  • Barney & BJ: It's a little bit of ground, with water all around. A mountain in the middle and a jungly sound. Birds and the breeze and the coconut trees. That's what an island is.
  • BJ: You can gab with a crab, who lives in the sand, or wave to a butterfly as big as your hand.
  • Barney: And if you get hungry for a tasty meal, there bunches of bananas that have appeal.
  • BJ: Yummy.
  • Barney & BJ: It's a little bit of ground, with water all around. A mountain in the middle and a jungly sound. Birds and the breeze and the coconut trees. That's what an island is. It's a little bit of ground, with water all around. A mountain in the middle and a jungly sound. Birds and the breeze and the coconut trees. That's what an island is.
  • Barney: That's what an island is. One more time now.
  • Barney & BJ: That's what an island is. (music ends)
  • Barney: BJ, would you mind if I showed you around a little bit before we start the treasure hunt?
  • BJ: Not at all. (fades to the area with rocks.) Wow! This is a lot of rocks!
  • Barney: Why don't we collect some for you and Baby Bop?
  • BJ: Yeah! (music starts for "We Like Rocks.")
  • Barney & BJ: We see a lot of rocks, 'cause they're all around. There are big ones and little ones on the ground. There are dark ones, light ones, even green and white ones. We like rocks. They come in different shapes; some round, some square. Now I wonder if a rock could grow hair. That's a silly question, but we don't care, because we like rocks. Now if we played them like instruments, I guess you could say that we were in a rock band. Hey, hey, hey! I'm glad we found the rocks, 'cause all we can say is that we like rocks! (music ends)
  • BJ: I think Sissy is really gonna like these rocks.
  • Barney: Me too!
  • BJ: I would like when we see the sun.
  • Barney: Great! Before we see the sun, we have to put on sun-glasses.
  • BJ: Yeah. (they did)
  • Barney: Now that we have sun-glasses on, we can play in the sun all we want. (music starts for "Mister Sun.")
  • Barney & BJ: Oh, Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, please shine down on me. Oh, Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, hiding behind a tree. These little children are asking you, to please come out so we can play with you. Oh, Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, please shine down on me. Oh, Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, please shine down on me. Oh, Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, hiding behind a tree. These little children are asking you to please come out so we can play with you. Oh, Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, please shine down on, please shine down on, please shine down on me. (music ends. Cuts to a bee flying towards BJ's arm, and stings BJ's arm.)
  • BJ: BLAAAAAAAAAH!
  • Barney: Are you okay, BJ?
  • BJ: Yeah, I'm fine. I think I got stung by a bee.
  • Barney: Don't worry, I'll make it feel better. (blows kiss, and hearts fly towards the spot the bee stung BJ's arm.)
  • BJ: Thanks, Barney. Now my arm is much better.
  • Barney: Now, BJ. Are you ready for the Treasure Hunt?
  • BJ: Yeah! (music starts for "A Hunting We Will Go.")
  • Barney: I wish I had a pirate's map to share with everyone, 'cause if I did, we all could have a Treasure Hunt for fun.
  • Barney & BJ: A hunting we will go. A hunting we will go. We're going on a Treasure Hunt. A hunting we will go.
  • BJ: I wish I had a pirate's map to share with everyone, 'cause if I did, we all could have a Treasure Hunt for fun.
  • Barney & BJ: A hunting we will go. A hunting we will go. We're going on a Treasure Hunt. A hunting we will go. (music ends.)
  • Barney: Okay, BJ. Let's go. (fades to another part of the island.)
  • BJ: Barney, look! Three little frogs! They look pretty cool!
  • Barney: There more then frogs, BJ. There speckled frogs. (music starts for "Three Little Speckled Frogs.")
  • Barney: 3 little speckled frogs, sitting on a speckled log, eating the most delicious bugs. Yum, yum! One jumped into the pool, where it was nice and cool. Then there were 2 speckled frogs. Croak, croak!
  • BJ: 2 little speckled frogs, sitting on a speckled log, eating the most delicous bugs. Yum, yum! One jumped into the pool, where it was nice and cool. Then there was 1 speckled frogs. Croak, croak!
  • Barney & BJ: 1 little speckled frog, sitting on a speckled log, eating the most delicous bugs. Yum, yum! He jumped into the pool, where it was nice and cool. Then there were no speckled frogs. (music ends)
  • Barney: That was fun.
  • BJ: Yeah, I like how the three frogs jumped into the water.
  • Barney: Would you like to build a sand castle, BJ?
  • BJ: Yeah! But we don't have shovels or pails.
  • Barney: Not to worry. (does magic and shovels and pails appear.)
  • BJ: All right. (music starts for "Castles So High.") Let's get started. (gets on his knees and starts to build a sand castle)
  • Barney: Okay. Fairy tale castles with beautiful flags, flying higher then you've ever seen. Just imagine all of the things you can see. Maybe even a king or a queen.
  • Barney & BJ: Castles so high, up to the sky. I know that I would love to go there. Castles so high, up to the sky. Woudn't you love to go too?
  • BJ: Magical and musical things, big surprises and so much more. We can ride a horse, having fun of course, an adventure like never before.
  • Barney & BJ: Castles so high, up to the sky. I know that I would love to go there. Castles so high, up to the sky. Wouldn't you love to go too?
  • Barney: Wouldn't you love to go too? (music ends)
  • BJ: I'm finished!
  • Barney: Good job, BJ. Let's keep looking for the treasure. (a BIG wind blows.)
  • BJ: Wow, it's windy. (wind blows off BJ's hat.) AAAAAAUUUUGGH! Oh no! My hat! (him and Barney run after the hat.) Oh no.
  • Barney: Don't worry, BJ. Maybe we'll find your hat on the way. (fades to a boat dock.) BJ, why don't we do a little fishing?
  • BJ: Yeah! But we don't have fishing poles.
  • Barney: (brings his hands up with two fishing poles.) Is this what you need?
  • BJ: Yeah! (music starts for "The Fishing Song.")
  • Barney: Then here we go. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Once I caught a fish alive. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Then I let him go again.
  • BJ: Why did you let him go?
  • Barney: Because he bite my finger, so.
  • BJ: Which finger did he bite?
  • Barney: This little finger on the right.
  • BJ: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Once I caught a fish alive. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Then I let him go again.
  • Barney: Why did you let him go?
  • BJ: Because he bite my finger, so.
  • Barney: Which finger did he bite?
  • BJ: This little finger on the right. (music ends.)
  • Barney: That was some nice fishing, BJ.
  • BJ: Thanks. (sees Barney's giant fish.) Woah! Can we go swimming?
  • Barney: Sure, but we should go some where else. (fades to the beach area.) Here we are.
  • BJ: All right. (him and Barney jump in the water, and cuts to both of them under water. And music starts for "Swimming, Swimming.")
  • Barney: Swimming, swimming, under the deep blue sea. The water's clear, and warm and still and there's so much to see.
  • Barney & BJ: Swimming, swimming, under the deep blue sea. The water's clear, and warm and still and there's so much to see. Swimming, swimming, under the deep blue sea. The water's clear and warm and still and there's so much to see. (music ends.)
  • BJ: This must be what it's like to live under water.
  • Barney: (music starts for "If I Lived Under the Sea.") Your right.
  • Barney & BJ: If I lived under the sea, sea, sea, I think it would be neat as it could be, be, be. I could visit all the fish, anytime I wish, if I lived under the sea.
  • BJ: I could ride on the tail of a great big whale.
  • Barney & BJ: Wow, that would be great!
  • Barney: I could count all the legs of an octopus.
  • BJ: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
  • Barney & BJ: If I lived under the sea, sea, sea, I think it would be neat as it could be, be, be. I could visit all the fish, anytime I wish, if I lived under the sea.
  • Barney: It would be so new to watch a tuna, talking with an itty bitty snail.
  • BJ: Or to see a big fin on the back of the fish, who carries his very own sail.
  • Barney & BJ: If I lived under the sea, sea, sea. I think it would be neat as it could be, be, be. I could visit all the fish, anytime I wish, if I lived under the sea.
  • BJ: I could visit all the fish, anytime I wish.
  • Barney & BJ: If I lived under the sea. (music ends, and fades to another side of the beach.)
  • Barney: Here we are. I think we're close to the treasure. (sees treasure chest.) There it is.
  • BJ: All right, let's see what's inside. (him and Barney open the chest.)
  • Barney: It's the rocks for you and Baby Bop.
  • BJ: And my hat!
  • Barney: And a rainbow!
  • BJ: What do you think the rainbow's for?
  • Barney: Maybe there's a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow.
  • BJ: Yeah. Let's go. (Barney & BJ walk left, and then fades back to the school. And music starts for "It's Good To Be Home.")
  • Barney: The magical things, the sights that we've seen, the adventures so far away.
  • BJ: But it's good to be home with the friends that I know it's the place that I want to stay.
  • Barney & BJ: It's good to be home. I'm never alone. When I've got my own good friends beside me. Whenever you're here to hug and be near, you are so special to me. It's good to be home. I'm never alone. When I've got my own good friends beside me. Whenever you're here to hug and be near, you are so special to me.
  • Barney: You are so special to me. (music ends)
  • BJ: Well there wasn't a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but it is good to be home.
  • Barney: You're right, BJ. (music starts for "I Love You.") Home is the place to be: with the people you love. I love you, you love me. We're a happy family. With a great big hug, and a kiss from me to you. Won't you say you love me too?
  • Barney & BJ: I love you, you love me. We're best friends like friends should be. With a great big hug, and a kiss from me to you. Won't you say you love me too?
  • BJ: Thanks for taking me to "Magical Island," Barney.
  • Barney: Your welcome. And don't forget your rocks for you and Baby Bop.
  • BJ: I won't. (picks up rocks.) Bye, Barney.
  • Barney: (waves) Bye. (BJ disappears) (to viewer(s)) Did you know my favorite rhyme from this book? (turns to first page.) Magical Islands are filled with magic, each of them has one, so we go to one of them. Can you say it with me? Magical Islands are filled with magic, each of them has one, so we go to one of them. Good. I hope you like that rhyme, so I want you to be wise. And remember I love you. (waves) Bye. (fades to the end credits)
