Barney Goes To School is the eleventh video in the Barney & the Backyard Gang video, originally released on August 15, 1990.


Join Barney as he enjoys a typical day at school with the Backyard Gang. And joining them in finger-painting, pretend, and learning such center activities as ABC's and 123's (not to mention scampering after a mischievous hamster named "Zippity"), he discovers why the kids love going to school each weekday - learning is so much fun!

  • Barney has his Late 1989-1990 voice and costume..
  • Barney would've came to life, like he does in the 1990 intro.
  • "I Love You" would've sung inside the classroom, with Barney singing the first verse by himself, and then The Backyard Gang join him on the second verse.
  • Season 1's I Love You has the same vocals from "Barney in Concert", except Barney's vocals are mixed with his Late 1989-1990 voice.
  • The Barney doll would've winked at the end.
  • The songs "You're A Grand Old Flag" and "If All The Raindrops" would not be shortened.
