This is taken from A Chipmunk Christmas. So, grab some popcorn, sit by a roaring fire, and discover what Larry (Alvin), Pa Grape (Simon), and Mr. Lunt (Theodore) have to say about their latest release.

  • Alvin: Before we sat down to write this show, we just finished Larry-Boy's second episode, LarryBoy and the Rumor Weed. We had nothing to do after this, until someone decided to do a show about a cowboy, and a space ranger. We were trying to make them do Jonah, already. I wanted a role of Jonah, right out of Rumor Weed, but we were not ready, so we had to wait another year.
  • Theodore: You look good in red, Alvin.
  • Simon: You look good in green, Theodore.
  • Alvin: And you look good in blue, Simon.
  • Theodore: That's incredible. We're the "Chipmunks!"
  • Simon: We just got the idea of the next show from a open sourced writer when we were pitching show ideas. We liked it, but someone else suggested we should do something influential.
  • Theodore: And thus, came something special.
  • Alvin: We did something, that we have never done before or since. And that was, an Alvin - that's me - and the Chipmunks parody episode. The three of us starred as young celebrities, until the moment I put on that ridiculous elf costume, complete with creepy elf ears.
  • Simon: Kinda like the creepy masks with the chubby faces on them, from Terry Gilliam's "Brazil".
  • Theodore: That's true, my good friend. We made it take place in Christmas 2003.
  • Alvin: We also made this a little bit disco-themed. My disco days are still flooding in.
  • Simon: Can you imagine this whole episode with still the same everything, but set in the 1970s? Despite the three of us playing the chipmunks, our friends had a worse nightmare.
  • Theodore: Yeah. I remember, when we started shooting in Fresno, California, I stopped at a 7-Eleven and got a Double Gulp.
  • Alvin: During the mall scenes, when The Green Onions, The Scallions, The Peach, Mr. Nezzer, Scooter, Jimmy and Jerry Gourd, the French Peas, Laura, Frankencelery, Goliath, and Madame Blueberry went home for the weekend, Bob stayed behind for his role as Philip Fleagle, the manager of "The Spring Valley Mall".
  • Alvin: We were doing this from a story's point of view, with many locations, so that they could really concentrate on those.
  • Theodore: For this, what we wanted to do was capture the look and feel of some of the musicals that were done in the 40s and 50s. You know, the technicolor musicals were hybrid. And the artists pulled it into a miniature looking technicolor set for the characters to act on, and I think it's beautiful, they did a good job.
  • Alvin: Another thing was: when I put on the elf costume, before my scenes as an elf, I went into the green room and sung an acapella of "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music.
  • Simon: (facepalms) Oh great. There may have been some tributes to John Travolta in this, as well as several music companies.
  • Alvin: This is like being inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
  • Simon: The day, a kid pulls me out of a six-piece chicken nuggets meal and finds a stray french fry in one of the lens on my glasses, will be my best day ever.
  • Theodore: Think so?
  • Alvin: Sure beats defeating Rumor Weeds, and Fibs.
  • Simon: Oh. I wonder how Archibald feels about this.
  • Theodore: I'm curious to see what Junior and Laura, and the French Peas have to say about this.
