Ash Gets Bumped

  • George Carlin: Every afternoon, Ash Ketchum strolls along his route with Suzy and Pietra. First they pass the water mill. Next, they come to a big farm. Then, they can see a bridge with a village nestled either side of it. This is a special place. Whenever children hear Ash coming along, they stand on the bridge, waving until he is out of sight. One day, Ash was running late. He had stopped at a red light before the bridge to talk to some new children. Alex O'Connell was waiting, too.
  • Alex: Hurry up, Ash.
  • George Carlin: Called Alex when the signal dropped.
  • Alex: If you're late, Steven might get a new character to replace you.
  • Ash: He would never do that!
  • George Carlin: Thought Ash, but he was worried. Next day, Ash hurried along the line. Just ahead was the goods yard. There, on the platform, was an inspector waving a red flag. Next, Ash saw some children. They were waving, too.
  • Ash: Something must be wrong.
  • George Carlin: Thought Ash.
  • Ash: This station is for goods, not passengers.
  • Children: Help, Ash, help! We're glad to see you.
  • George Carlin: Called the children.
  • Children: Please, will you take us home?
  • George Carlin: The stationmaster explained to Ash's driver that the school bus had broken down, and all the parents would be worried if the children were late. Ash waited as the children walked down from the bridge. Then he took the children to the next station, where Sonic was waiting to take them home. When Ash finished his journey, he was very late. He was worried that Steven might be cross with him.
  • Alex: I warned Ash.
  • George Carlin: Puffed Alex to Raimundo.
  • Alex: He's been late one time too many. He'll be in trouble now.
  • George Carlin: But next morning, when Ash pick up his passengers, Steven was nowhere to be seen.
  • (Ash looks around and finds nothing)
  • Ash: Thank goodness.
  • George Carlin: Sighed Ash. Ash knows every part of his line. Just ahead was a stretch where the hot sun had bent the rails on the track.
  • Driver: Careful, Ash!
  • George Carlin: Called his driver. But it was too late.
  • (Ash falls off the rails)
  • Driver: That's done it!
  • George Carlin: Said his driver.
  • Driver: We shan't get any further today!
  • Ash: But what about my passengers?
  • George Carlin: Asked Ash.
  • Driver: Don't worry, they'll be looked after.
  • George Carlin: Replied his driver. While workmen repaired the line, Ash had to shunt Beedrill in the yard. Sonic came to see him.
  • Sonic: I understand you need my help again.
  • Ash: Yes, Sonic.
  • George Carlin: Replied Ash sadly.
  • Ash: I can't run without my rails.
  • George Carlin: Sonic set off to collect Ash's passengers.
  • Passengers: Hello, Sonic.
  • George Carlin: They said.
  • Passengers: We're glad you're here.
  • George Carlin: Sonic drove along the road that runs by the railway. He stopped at each station along the line. Sometimes he stopped between stations to let people off closer to their homes. Ash felt miserable.
  • Ash: I've lost my passengers to Sonic. They'll like him better than me.
  • George Carlin: Steven arrived.
  • Steven: Your branch line is repaired. I'm going to change your timetable so that you and Sonic can work together more.
  • George Carlin: When Ash reached the station, there, to his relief, were all his passengers.
  • Passengers: Sonic is a good hedgehog, but we missed our train rides with you.
  • George Carlin: They said. Later, Ash spoke to Sonic.
  • Ash: Thank you for looking after my passengers.
  • Sonic: That's all right, Ash. I like to make new friends, but I'm glad to share them with you.
  • Ash: You're a good friend, indeed.
  • George Carlin: Replied Ash.
  • Ash: And always will be.

A New Friend For Ash

  • George Carlin: Heathcliff the Cat enjoyed living in the vicarage orchard. Kevin came to see him everyday, but sometimes, Heathcliff didn't have enough work to do.
  • Heathcliff: I do like to keep busy all the time.
  • George Carlin: He sighed one day.
  • Heathcliff: And I do like company. Especially, children's company.
  • Kevin: Cheer up.
  • George Carlin: Smiled Kevin.
  • Kevin: Steven has worked for you at his new harbor. I'm to take you to meet Ash today.
  • Heathcliff: Oh.
  • George Carlin: Exclaimed Heathcliff happily.
  • Heathcliff: The harbor, the seaside, children. That would be lovely.
  • George Carlin: Ash was on his way to the harbour with a trainload of metal pilings. They were needed to make the harbour wharf firm and safe.
  • Kevin: Hello, Ash.
  • George Carlin: Said Kevin.
  • Kevin: This is Heathcliff a friend of mine. He's a cat.
  • George Carlin: Ash eyed the newcomer doubtfully.
  • Ash: A what?
  • Heathcliff: A cat.
  • George Carlin: Explained Heathcliff.
  • Heathcliff: I run on roads instead of rails. Can you take me to the harbour, please? Steven has a job for me.
  • Ash: Yes, of course.
  • George Carlin: Replied Ash. But he was still puzzled. Workmen coupled Heathcliff's car to Ash's train and soon they were ready to start their journey.
  • Heathcliff: I'm glad Steven needs me.
  • George Carlin: Called Heathcliff.
  • Heathcliff: I don't have enough to do sometime you know. Although I can work anywhere. In orchards, on farms, in scrapyards even at harbours.
  • Ash: But you don't run on rails.
  • George Carlin: Puffed Ash.
  • Heathcliff: I'm a cat. I don't need rails to be useful.
  • George Carlin: Replied Heathcliff.
  • Heathcliff: You wait and see.
  • George Carlin: When they reached the harbour, they found everything in confusion. Beedrill had been derailed, blocking the line and stone slabs lay everywhere.
  • Driver: We must get this pilings past.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash's Driver.
  • Driver: They are escential. Heathcliff, we need you to drag them round this mess.
  • Heathcliff: Just the sort of job I like.
  • George Carlin: Replied Heathcliff.
  • Heathcliff: Now you'll see, Ash. I'll soon show you what bunnies can do.
  • George Carlin: Heathcliff was as good as his work. He dragged the pilings clear with chains and towed them into position.
  • Heathcliff: Who needs rails?
  • George Carlin: He muttered cheerfully to himself. Later, Ash brought Suzy and Pietra to visit him. Ash was most impressed.
  • Ash: Now I understand how useful a traction engine can be.
  • George Carlin: The coaches were full of children. Heathcliff gave them rides to all the harbour. He liked this best of all.
  • Suzy: He's very kind.
  • George Carlin: Said Suzy.
  • Pietra: He reminds me of Ash.
  • George Carlin: Added Pietra. Everyone was sorry when it was time for Heathcliff to go. Ash pulled him to the junction. A small tear came into Heathcliff's eye. Ash pretended not to see. He whistled gaily to make Heathcliff happy.
  • Ash: I'll come and see you if I can.
  • George Carlin: He promised.
  • Ash: Jon Arbuckle will look after you and there's plenty of work for you now at the orchard. But we may meet you again at the harbour someday.
  • Heathcliff: That would be wonderful.
  • George Carlin: Said Heathcliff. That evening, Heathcliff stood remembering his new friend Ash, the harbour, and most of all, the children. Then he went happily to sleep in the shed at the bottom of the orchard.

Ash, Alex and The Gyarados

  • George Carlin: Ash and Alex are good friends, but sometimes, Alex teases Ash about being frightened and he doesn't like that at all. One evening, he was dozing happily, but Alex wanted to talk.
  • Alex: Wake up, Ash. Are you dreaming about the time you thought I was a ghost?
  • Ash: Certainly not. Anyway, I was only pretending to be scared. I knew it was your really.
  • George Carlin: Alex went on teasing him.
  • Alex: I hope the guard leaves the light on for you tonight.
  • Ash: Why?
  • George Carlin: Asked Ash.
  • Ash: I quite like the dark.
  • Alex: Oh really?
  • George Carlin: Explained Alex.
  • Alex: I am surprised. I'd always thought you were afraid of the dark. I wonder why?
  • George Carlin: Ash decided to say nothing and went to sleep instead. Next day, Steven came to see him.
  • Steven: I would like you to go to the harbour tonight. You have to collect something rather unusual.
  • Ash: What sort of something?
  • George Carlin: Asked Ash.
  • Steven: Wait and see.
  • George Carlin: Replied Steven. Meanwhile, Alex was moving some Beedrill into a siding. Shaggy arrived with his goods train. The signalman changed the switches and Alex waited on the siding until Shaggy had steamed by. Then, there was trouble.
  • The Signalman: The switches are jammed.
  • George Carlin: Called the signalman.
  • The Signalman: I can't switch them back for Alex. The workmen will have to mend them in the morning. It's too late now.
  • Driver: Hmmm.
  • George Carlin: Said Alex's Driver.
  • Driver: I'm sorry, Alex. But you will have to stay here tonight.
  • Alex: Where are you going?
  • George Carlin: Asked Alex.
  • Fireman: Home for tea.
  • George Carlin: Replied the fireman. Alex was speechless. He watched as the other characters went home to the shed. Night-time came and Alex began to feel very lonely.
  • Alex: Oh dear.
  • George Carlin: He murmured.
  • Alex: It's very dark.
  • (A screeching noise can be heard)
  • Alex: Oh! Oh! What's that?!
  • George Carlin: It was only an owl, but Alex didn't realize this.
  • Alex: Oh, I wish Ash was here too.
  • George Carlin: He sighed. Ash was waiting for his mysterious load at the harbour. Suddenly, there is was.
  • (The Gyarados appears)
  • Ash: Cinders and Ashes!
  • George Carlin: Cried Ash.
  • Ash: It's a Gyarados!
  • Driver: Don't worry.
  • George Carlin: Laughed his driver.
  • Driver: This Gyarados is made of paper. It's for the carnival tomorrow.
  • George Carlin: Workmen lifted the dragon onto Ash's load loader and put lights all around it for protection. Then, Ash set off into the misty night. Alex was asleep on his siding and had no idea that Ash was approaching him.
  • (Ash and the Gyarados approach Alex and scare him)
  • George Carlin: Alex woke up with a start.
  • Alex: Help!
  • George Carlin: Cried Alex.
  • Alex: I'm not going to open my eyes until my driver comes.
  • George Carlin: Next morning the switches were mended and Alex puffed back to the junction. Terry was just about to leave with the express.
  • Alex: You'll never guess what I saw last night.
  • George Carlin: Terry was in no mood for puzzles.
  • Terry: I'm a busy character. I don't have time for your games.
  • Alex: I've seen a huge Gyarados. It was covered in lights.
  • George Carlin: Terry snorted.
  • Terry: You've been in the sun too long. Your dome has cracked.
  • George Carlin: When the other characters heard the news, they laughed too.
  • Raimundo: Look out, Alex!
  • George Carlin: Chuckled Alex.
  • Alex: Or the Gyarados may gobble you up!
  • Alex: No one believes me.
  • George Carlin: Huffed Alex.
  • Alex: Maybe I did imagine the Gyarados after all.
  • George Carlin: But Alex soon found out that he hadn't.
  • Alex: Help! Save me!
  • George Carlin: Cried Alex.
  • Ash: It's alright.
  • George Carlin: Whistled Ash. And he explained about the carnival.
  • Ash: By the way, how was your night out?
  • George Carlin: Alex decided to tell Ash the truth.
  • Ash: Well, Alex.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: Maybe we do get scared sometimes, but if we're not afraid to tell each other, then that means we're quite brave too.

Ash Saves The Day

  • George Carlin: Every day, Steven came to the Cartoon University to catch his son.
  • Steven: Hello.
  • George Carlin: He always said to Ash.
  • Steven. Don't let the silly Beedrill tease you. Remember, you have an important job as a special helper in the train yard.
  • George Carlin: There were lots of Beedrill and Ash worked very hard pushing and pulling them into place. There was also a small coach and two strange things his driver called cranes.
  • Ash's Driver: That's the breakdown train.
  • George Carlin: He told Ash.
  • Ash's Driver: The cranes are for lifting heavy things like engines and coaches and Beedrill.
  • George Carlin: One day, Ash was in the yard. Suddenly he heard an character whistling.
  • Raimundo: Help! Help!
  • George Carlin: A freight train came rushing through much too fast. The character was Raimundo and he was frightened. His brake blocks were on fire.
  • Raimundo: They're pushing me, they're pushing me.
  • George Carlin: He panted.
  • Beedrill: On! On!
  • George Carlin: Laughed the Beedrill. Still whistling...
  • Raimundo: Help! Help!
  • George Carlin: Poor Raimundo disappeared.
  • Ash: I like to teach those Beedrill a lesson.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash Ketchum.
  • (We hear an alarm ringing)
  • George Carlin: Soon came the alarm.
  • Signalman: Raimundo is off the line. The breakdown train quickly.
  • George Carlin: Ash was coupled on and off they went. Ash worked his hardest.
  • Ash: Hurry, hurry, hurry!
  • George Carlin: He puffed. He wasn't predenting to be like Terry. He really meant it.
  • Ash: Bother those Beedrill and their tricks. I hope poor Raimundo isn't hurt.
  • George Carlin: Raimundo's driver and fireman were feeling him all over to see if he was hurt.
  • (Cows mooing)
  • Driver and Fireman: Never mind, Raimundo.
  • George Carlin: They said.
  • Driver and Fireman: It was those silly Beedrill and your old wooden brakes that caused the accident.
  • George Carlin: Ash pushed the breakdown train alongside. Then he pulled away the unhurt Beedrill.
  • Beedrill: Oh, dear. Oh, dear.
  • George Carlin: They groaned.
  • Ash: Serves you right, serves you right.
  • George Carlin: Puffed Ash. He was hard at work puffing backwards and forwards all afternoon.
  • Ash: This'll teach you a lesson, this'll teach you a lesson.
  • George Carlin: He told the Beedrill. And they answered...
  • Beedrill: Yes it will, yes it will.
  • George Carlin: They left the broken Beedrill. Then with two cranes they put Raimundo back on the rails.
  • (The cranes lift Raimundo away from the field. A surprised Ash watches as Raimundo is put back to the rails)
  • George Carlin: He tried to move, but he couldn't so Ash helped him back to the shed. Steven was waiting anxiously for them.
  • Steven: Well, Ash.
  • George Carlin: He said.
  • Steven: I heard all about it and I'm very pleased with you. You're a really useful trainer. Raimundo shall have some proper brakes and a new coat of paint and you shall have a branch line all to yourself.
  • Ash: Oh thank you, sir.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash. Now Ash is as happy as can be. He has a branch line and two coaches called Suzy and Pietra. He puffs proudly backwards and forwards with them all day. He is never lonely. Kevin and Shaggy stop quite often and tell him the news. Terry is always in a hurry but never forgets to say...
  • Terry: Boop Boop.
  • George Carlin: And Ash always whistles...
  • Ash: Peep Peep.
  • George Carlin: In return.

Trouble For Ash

  • George Carlin: Ash Ketchum wouldn't stop being a nuisance. Night after night, he kept the other characters awake.
  • Ash: I'm tired of pushing coaches. I wanna see the world.
  • George Carlin: The other characters didn't take much notice, for Ash was a little character with a long tongue. But one night, Kevin came to the shed. He was a kind little character and felt sorry for Ash.
  • Kevin: I've got some Beedrill to take home tomorrow. If you take them instead of me, I'll push coaches in the yard.
  • Ash: Thank you.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: That would be nice.
  • George Carlin: Next morning, Kevin and Ash asked their drivers, and when they said "yes", Ash ran off happily to find Beedrill. Now the Beedrill were silly and noisy. They talked a lot and don't attend to what they are doing. And I'm sorry to say they play tricks on a character who is not used to them. Kevin knew all about the Beedrill. He warned Ash to be careful but Ash was too excited to listen. The shunter fastened the coupling and when the signal dropped, Ash was ready. The conductor blew his whistle.
  • Ash: Peep Peep.
  • George Carlin: Answered Ash and started off. But the Beedrill weren't ready.
  • Beedrill: Oh! Oh!
  • George Carlin: They screamed.
  • Beedrill: Wait, Ash, wait!
  • George Carlin: But Ash wouldn't wait.
  • Ash: Come on come on.
  • George Carlin: He puffed.
  • Beedrill: All right, don't fuss! All right, don't fuss!
  • George Carlin: Grumbled the Beedrill. Ash began going faster and faster.
  • Ash: Wheesh!
  • George Carlin: He whistled, as he rush through Shaggy's tunnel.
  • Ash: Hurry, hurry.
  • George Carlin: Called Ash. He was feeling very proud of himself. But the Beedrill grew crosser and crosser. At last Ash slowed down as he came to Terry's Hill.
  • Ash's Driver: Steady, now, steady.
  • George Carlin: Warned the driver, as he reach the top. He began to put on the brakes.
  • Ash: We're stopping, we're stopping!
  • George Carlin: Called Ash.
  • Beedrill: No, no, no!
  • George Carlin: Answered the Beedrill bumping them to each other.
  • Beedrill: Go on! Go on!
  • George Carlin: Before the driver could stop them they had pushed Ash down the hill and were rattling and laughing behind them. Poor Ash tried hard to stop them from making him go too fast.
  • Ash: Stop pushing, stop pushing!
  • George Carlin: He hissed. But the Beedrill took no notice.
  • Beedrill: Go on! Go on!
  • George Carlin: They giggled in their silly way.
  • Ash: There's the station! Oh dear, what shall I do?
  • George Carlin: Cried Ash. They rattled straight through and swerved into the goods yard. Ash shut his eyes.
  • Ash: I must stop!
  • George Carlin: When he opened his eyes, he saw he had stopped just in front of the buffers. There watching him was...Steven.
  • Steven: What are you doing here, Ash?
  • George Carlin: He asked.
  • Ash: I brought Kevin's Beedrill.
  • George Carlin: Ash answered.
  • Steven: Why did you come so fast?
  • Ash: I didn't mean to. I was pushed.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Steven: You've got a lot to learn about Beedrill, Ash. After pushing them about here for a few weeks you'll know almost as much about them as Kevin. Then you'll be a Really Useful Trainer.

Ash and Yoshi

  • George Carlin: Ash Ketchum was feeling very happy. His blue coat shone in the sun, he was right on time, and all around his branch line the countryside seems prettier than ever before.
  • Ash: Peep peep! Good morning, Alex.
  • George Carlin: He whistled.
  • Ash: My branch is the pride of the line. Wouldn't you agree?
  • Alex: Uh, yes, Ash, of course, but, uh...
  • Ash: But what, Alex? Out with it.
  • Alex: Well there is another character with the famous branch line too.
  • Ash: Who? Where?
  • Alex: His name's Yoshi. He's far away, but Steven says he may visit us.
  • Ash: When?
  • Alex: Oh, someday.
  • George Carlin: And Alex hurried away. Meanwhile Yoshi puffed steadily along his line. It isn't very long, and that made him feel a little sad. Later he saw Casey, the little diesel had saved Yoshi from scrap.
  • Yoshi: Everyone's been so kind, but my railway was so sure, that I do miss a good long run.
  • Casey: I think you should tell driver too.
  • George Carlin: Replied Casey.
  • Casey: I'm sure he'll understand.
  • George Carlin: Yoshi soon discovered that indeed he did.
  • Driver: You know, Yoshi, I feel just the same way.
  • George Carlin: That evening, he had exciting news.
  • Driver: Guess what, Yoshi? Steven has invited to the other characters on his own railway. Manager agreed. It'll be really long run to get there.
  • Yoshi: Oh, thank you!
  • George Carlin: Sighed Yoshi. They set off next morning. But now, all the other engines were talking about Yoshi.
  • Alex: He runs a famous branch line. Did you know that?
  • George Carlin: Said Alex. Ash was feeling a little jealous.
  • Ash: Huh! It may be famous but my branch is the first on the line. Everyone knows that too.
  • George Carlin: And he huffed away to fetch his coaches.
  • Alex: Look!
  • George Carlin: Squeaked Alex.
  • Alex: Why have they all come? There's no train yet.
  • George Carlin: But Alex was wrong. The signal dropped, and from far away a character's whistle.
  • Drix: Here he comes!
  • George Carlin: Yelled Drix. Yoshi puffed proudly through the junction.
  • Kevin: I hope you'll meet Ash too.
  • George Carlin: Said Kevin.
  • Kevin: You both have branch lines to be proud of.
  • George Carlin: Then Yoshi set off to help Virgil shunt coaches in the yards, and they worked happily together all afternoon. At last, Ash arrived.
  • Ash: Sorry, can't talk. It's time for my last branch line train. Mustn't be late.
  • George Carlin: He was hardly out of sight when the engines heard shouting at the station. Moments later came the alarm.
  • Man: Stop all train!
  • George Carlin: The signalman answered the telephone.
  • Signalman: A special, is it? I see.
  • George Carlin: Ash was impatient.
  • Ash: Why are we waiting? My passengers have been delayed.
  • Driver: Sorry, Ash.
  • George Carlin: Said his driver.
  • Driver: We're been shunted to allow another train to pass.
  • George Carlin: Soon they heard an unfamiliar puffing sound. There was Yoshi with his headlamp swang and whistle blowing. He gathered speed and disappeared.
  • Ash: Well bust my boiler!
  • George Carlin: Said Ash Ketchum. Next morning, he was still fuming.
  • Ash: Shunted! And on my own branch too! It's a disgrace!
  • Yoshi: I'm sorry.
  • George Carlin: Said Yoshi.
  • Yoshi: I was a special.
  • Ash: Why?
  • Yoshi: An important passenger arrived just as you left. He ordered a special train and Virgil let me take it. We had a splendid run, but uh...
  • Ash: But...
  • George Carlin: Finished Ash.
  • Ash: It can make a character nervous not to know the line.
  • Yoshi: Excatly.
  • George Carlin: Said Yoshi.
  • Yoshi: You're such an expert.
  • George Carlin: Ash felt much better. He couldn't be cross anymore and began telling Yoshi all about his branch line.

A Big Day For Ash

  • George Carlin: Ash Ketchum was grumbling to the other characters.
  • Ash: I spent my time pulling coaches about ready for you to take out on journeys.
  • George Carlin: The other characters laughed.
  • Ash: Why can't I pull passenger trains too?
  • Terry: You're too impatient.
  • George Carlin: They said.
  • Terry: You'd be sure to leave something behind.
  • Ash: Rubbish!
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: I'll show you.
  • George Carlin: One night, he and Shaggy were alone. Shaggy was ill. The men worked hard, but he didn't get better. He felt just as bad next morning. Shaggy usually pull the first train and Ash had to get his coaches ready.
  • Ash: If Shaggy is ill.
  • George Carlin: He thought.
  • Ash: Perhaps I shall pull his train.
  • George Carlin: Ash ran off to find the coaches.
  • Ash: Come along, come along.
  • Ringo Starr: He fussed.
  • Coaches: There's plenty of time, there's plenty of time!
  • George Carlin: They grumbled. Ash took them to the platform and wanted to run round at once. But his driver wouldn't let him.
  • Driver: Don't be impatient, Ash.
  • George Carlin: Ash waited and waited. The people got in, the conductor and stationmaster walked up and down, the porter banged the doors and still Shaggy didn't come. Ash got more and more excited. Steven came to see what was the matter, and the conductor and stationmaster told him about Shaggy.
  • Steven: Find another character.
  • George Carlin: He ordered.
  • Both: There's only Ash.
  • George Carlin: They said.
  • Steven: You'll have to do it then, Ash. Be quick now.
  • George Carlin: So Ash ran round to the front and back down on the coaches ready to start.
  • Driver: Let's not be impatient.
  • Ringo Starr: Said his driver.
  • Driver: We'll wait till everything was ready.
  • George Carlin: But Ash was too excited to listen. What happened then, no one knows. Perhaps they forgot to couple Ash to the train, or perhaps the Driver pulled the leather by mistake. Anyhow, Ash started without his coaches. As the pass the signal tower, men waved and shouted, but he didn't stop.
  • Ash: They're waving because I'm such a splendid character.
  • George Carlin: He thought importantly.
  • Ash: Shaggy says it's hard to pull trains, but I think it's easy. Hurry, hurry, hurry!
  • George Carlin: He puffed, pretending to be like Terry.
  • Ash: People had never seen me pulling a train before. It's nice of them to wave.
  • George Carlin: And he whistled.
  • Ash: Peep peep! Thank you.
  • George Carlin: Then he came to a signal at danger.
  • Ash: Bother!
  • George Carlin: He thought.
  • Ash: I must stop, and I was going so nicely too. What a nuisance signals are.
  • George Carlin: He blew an angry "Peep peep!" on his whistle. The signalman ran up.
  • Signalman: Hello, Ash.
  • George Carlin: He said.
  • Signalman: What are you doing here?
  • Ash: I'm pulling the train.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: Can't you see?
  • Signalman: Where are your coaches then?
  • George Carlin: Ash looked back.
  • Ash: Why bless me.
  • George Carlin: He said.
  • Ash: If we hadn't leave them behind.
  • Signalman: Yes.
  • George Carlin: Said the signalman.
  • Signalman: You better go quickly and fetch them.
  • George Carlin: Poor Ash was so sad he nearly cried.
  • Driver: Cheer up.
  • George Carlin: Said his driver.
  • Driver: Let's go back quickly and try again.
  • George Carlin: At the station, all the passengers were talking at once. They were telling Steven what a bad railway it was. But when Ash came back, they saw how sad he was and couldn't be cross. He was coupled to the train, and this time he really pulled it. Afterwards, the other characters laughed at Ash and said...
  • Shaggy: Look! There's Ash, who wanted to pull the train, but forgot about the coaches.
  • George Carlin: But Ash had already learned, not to make the same mistake again.

Ash Meets The Queen

  • George Carlin: Terry McGinnis and Ash Ketchum walked hand to hand back home. It had been a busy day. First Ash had teased Terry about the time that the big character had slid into a ditch. Then Ash fell down a mine and Terry came to his rescue.
  • Terry: Remember, Ash.
  • George Carlin: Called Terry grandly.
  • Terry: United we stand, together we fall. You helped me and I'll helped you.
  • Ash: I'll remember.
  • George Carlin: Replied Ash.
  • Ash: But I hope Steven forgives us soon.
  • George Carlin: Suddenly, they notice something. As the two characters whistled in their sheds, everywhere they look, they saw paint pots and painters.
  • Ash: Bust my buffers!
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: What's happening?
  • Alex: Shh!
  • George Carlin: Whispered Alex.
  • Alex: Steven's going to tell us now.
  • Steven: Ladies and gentlemen and characters, I am honored to form you that her majesty the Queen herself was coming here to visit us. Now, on with the preperations.
  • George Carlin: The characters wondered who would pull the Royal Train.
  • Kevin: I'm too old to pull important trains.
  • George Carlin: Said Kevin.
  • Terry: I'm in disgrace.
  • George Carlin: Sighed Terry.
  • Raimundo: He'll choose me, of course.
  • George Carlin: Boasted Raimundo.
  • Shaggy: You?!
  • George Carlin: Snorted Shaggy.
  • Shaggy: You can't climb hills! He'll ask me to pull the train, and I'll have a new coat of paint.
  • George Carlin: Then the rain came. Shaggy's driver and fireman covered out their cab to keep dry. A painter was on a lantern above the line. Shaggy's smoke blew high into the air. The painter couldn't see. Both he and the paint pot fell all over Shaggy. Poor Shaggy!
  • Painter: Well, you're not a pretty picture.
  • George Carlin: Sneered the painter. Steven spoke next.
  • Steven: You look like an iced-cake, Shaggy. That won't do for the Royal Train. I must make other arrangements.
  • George Carlin: Terry and Ash were waiting for him.
  • Terry and Ash: Please, Sir.
  • Steven: One at a time.
  • George Carlin: Replied Steven.
  • Steven: Yes, Terry?
  • Terry: May Ash have his Branch Line again?
  • Steven: Hmm... I think you are both sorry and deserve a treat. Kevin will go and front to clear the line, Ash will look after the coaches and Terry will pull the train.
  • George Carlin: The great day came. All the characters work hard bringing people to the town. Ash sorted out their coaches in the yard. Kevin steamed in.
  • Kevin: Peep! The Queen is here!
  • George Carlin: Then Terry whistled as he approached the station. Everyone knew that sound. The queen's train glided into the station. Terry was spotless and his brass shown brightly. Steven stood to attention.
  • Steven: Welcome, ma'am.
  • George Carlin: The queen thanked him for a splendid run and ask to see all the characters.
  • Jackie and Alex: Peep peep!
  • George Carlin: Whistled Jackie and Alex.
  • Shaggy and Raimundo: Shh!
  • George Carlin: Hissed Shaggy and Raimundo. But Jackie and Alex didn't care.
  • Alex: Three cheers for the queen! Peep peep!
  • George Carlin: Whistled the characters. When it was time to leave, the queen spoke specialy to Ash who fetch her coaches, then to Kevin, and finally to Terry who took her away. No characters ever felt prouder than those of Steven's Railway.
