Blind Date
From Scratchpad
Blind Date is an improv game played by the Ship of Fools at Improv Shows and my members of Purdue Improv Club at weekly meetings.

[edit] Origins
(Circumstances of Game's creation)
[edit] Setup
Based on the concept of a real life Blind Date, with the exception that the unknown identity is one's own.
[edit] Necessary Equipment
At most, performers need two chairs and a table.
[edit] Performers
Three performers participate in this game. Two are on the blind date, whilst the third is the waiter.
[edit] Leaving the Room
Each performer leaves the room one at a time while their identities are assigned to them.
[edit] Audience Suggestions
The audience decides the identity of each of the performers on the date, and the location at which the waiter works and the date is occurring.
[edit] Rules
None of the performers are to know anything of their identities, nor are the identities to be related.
[edit] Traditions
Since the last person to enter is usually a dater, an excuse is formed for why he/she is late. The waiter frequently has homosexual/metrosexual overtones.
[edit] The Experts
Expert waiters are those who flavor their characters heavily. Among others, Andrew "Peace" Blatt and Jeff "Spanke" Spanke show prestige in this position. Blind daters must be able to derive their wit and hints in conversation and their orders. This, combined with characterization and the ability to guess make John "Cowboy" Clawson and Steven "Angel Hair" Saltsman notable.
