Narrator: "It was almost summer in Ponyville. All the animals were very busy. They were looking forward to the start of the holiday season.
One morning, Hoity Toity came to the library."
Hoity Toity: "It's time to get the seaside station ready for the summer visitors. Spike, you ought to pick up the deck chairs and windbreaks and take them to the beach."
Spike: "Yes, sir!"
Narrator: "Tooted Spike. And he hurried off happily."
Discord: "You're looking very cheerful, Spike."
Narrator: "Oiled Discord. Spike told Discord all about his exciting job."
Discord: "Haven't you heard about the Curse of the Cliffs?"
Narrator: "Oiled Discord."
Narrator: "Tooted Spike nervously. Discord snorted."
Discord: "Whenever the first animal of the holiday season goes around the headland. A terrible fog comes down over the cliffs."
Narrator: "Spike didn't like the sound of that at all."
Discord: "The animal loses its way, and nobody knows where it goes."
Narrator: "Discord chugged away, leaving Spike unhappy indeed. He wished that he didn't have to go to the beach after all.
Spike dread his feet slowly along the path. He was very worried.
Finally, Spike reached the supply shed. Workers had loaded his wagons with windbreaks and deck chairs. Spike puffed slowly on his way. He was thinking about the curse of the cliffs.
Suddenly, he saw Owlowiscious the Owl. Owlowiscious had bad news."
Owlowiscious: "Thick fog rolling in on the headland!"
Narrator: "Owlowiscious shouted."
Owlowiscious: "Puff carefully, Spike!"
Narrator: "And Owlowiscious whirred away over the treetops. Spike was very scared now."
Spike: "What if what Discord said about the curse of the cliffs is true?"
Narrator: "Tooted Thomas."
Spike: "I could get lost in the fog and never be seen again."
Narrator: "Spike puffed fearfully towards the cliffs.
Spike was approaching the tunnel when he saw Snails. Snails looked unhappy."
Spike: "What's the matter?"
Narrator: "Asked Spike kindly."
Snails: "I was enjoying myself until I met Discord."
Narrator: "Said Snails unhappily."
Snails: "He told me a monster lives in the tunnel. Now I'm too scared to go through."
Spike: "I'm sure Discord can't be right about the monster."
Narrator: "Spike said."
Spike: "Why don't I go in to the tunnel first? Then you can follow me."
Narrator: "Spike puffed slowly into the tunnel. He heard a strange noise."
Spike: "Must be brave, must be brave."
Narrator: "He told himself. Spike was determined not to show Snails he was frightened. He screwed up his courage and puffed slowly on. Then the noise grew louder and louder. Suddenly, Spike saw two eyes peering on him. Now he knew that Discord was right."
Spike: "Bust my scales!"
Narrator: "Wheeshed Spike."
Spike: "There is a monster."
Narrator: "Spike wanted to go back, but he couldn't. He had to help Snails."
Spike: "Must be brave, must be brave."
Narrator: "He chuffed. Spike had to go forward. But as the smoke started to clear, Spike saw that the eyes weren't eyes at all. They were lights. And the thud-thud-thud wasn't a noise made by a monster. It came from the machine beside the path. It was a generator to power the lights. Then Spike saw picks and shovels. He realized that workmen must be working there."
Spike: "Discord was wrong. There's no monster in the tunnel after all."
Narrator: "Soon Spike came across the workers making tea. Spike whistled the workmen happily. Snails was also very relieved."
Snails: "You're a very brave dragon."
Narrator: "Said Snails."
Snails: "Now I can finish my job."
Narrator: "And he puffed away. Spike was happy to help Snails. Then he remembered that he still had to get to the beach. And he remembered Discord's warning about the curse of the cliffs.
Spike felt very nervous as he puffed towards the headline. So nervous that he stopped."
Spike: "I can't go any further."
Narrator: "Spike said. He began to reverse away from the cliffs. Then, he had an idea."
Spike: "If Discord was wrong about the monster in the tunnel, maybe he'll be wrong about the curse of the cliffs."
Narrator: "He puffed. He started to go forward again."
Spike: "I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid."
Narrator: "He chuffed as he walked carefully towards the mist. Suddenly, the mist rolled away, and the sun came out. Spike saw that the cliffs were beautiful."
Spike: "Discord just wanted to frighten me."
Narrator: "Spike whistled.
Soon, the seaside station was up ahead. At last, Spike reached the station on the other side of the headland. Spike knew that soon the beach would be filled with happy vacations."
Spike: "I should not have believed what Discord said about the curse of the cliffs."
Narrator: "Wheeshed Spike. In future, Spike decided he would believe in himself.
