  • (We open this DVD with the Season 8-10 intro. After that, the Island of Sodor opening sequence starts)
  • Michael Brandon: The Island of Sodor is surronded by beautiful blue sea. It has fields of green and sandy yellow beaches. There are rivers, streams, and lots of trees where the birds sing. There are windmills and a coal mine, and docks are visitors to the island arrived. The island also has lots and lots of railway lines. Who's that puffing down the track?
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • Michael Brandon: It's Thomas!
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • Michael Brandon: Hello, Thomas!
  • Thomas: Hello, everybody! Welcome to the Island of Sodor!
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • (Toby's bell rings)
  • (Trevor's whistle toots)
  • (Edward's whistle toots)
  • (A wheesh of steam occurs and we begin Fearless Freddie)
  • Michael Brandon: Fearless Freddie. Today, an old friend's coming back to the Narrow Gauge Railway. His name was Fearless Freddie. Everyone had heard tales of Freddie. He was fast, fun and fearless. Thomas pushed Fearless Freddie into the Transfer Yards.
  • Sir Handel: Hello, Fearless Freddie.
  • Michael Brandon: Whistled Sir Handel.
  • Sir Handel: I haven't seen you for years.
  • Freddie: Fearless Freddie is back!
  • Michael Brandon: Puffed Freddie.
  • Thomas: I didn't know you two were friends.
  • Michael Brandon: Chuffed Thomas.
  • Sir Handel: Oh yes.
  • Michael Brandon: Huffed Sir Handel.
  • Sir Handel: Freddie was the fastest engine on the hills.
  • Michael Brandon: Suddenly, Rheneas and Skarloey raced into the yards.
  • Skarloey: I'm the winner!
  • Michael Brandon: Peeped Skarloey.
  • Rheneas: No, I am!
  • Michael Brandon: Wheeshed Rheneas.
  • Freddie: Who are you?
  • Michael Brandon: Chuffed Freddie.
  • Skarloey: We're the fastest engines in the hills.
  • Freddie: I'll show you who's fastest.
  • Michael Brandon: Tooted Freddie.
  • Freddie: I'll race you down the mountain.
  • Michael Brandon: Rheneas and Skarloey like to race. They steamed off excitedly. Freddie was determined to win. Freddie huff and puff up the mountain.
  • Freddie: Flatten my funnel.
  • Michael Brandon: He wheeshed.
  • Freddie: I used to be able to chuff up here in no time.
  • Michael Brandon: Rheneas and Skarloey were waiting to start the race.
  • Freddie: If I get to the bottom without you bumping my buffers, I won.
  • Michael Brandon: Wheeshed Freddie.
  • Rheneas: All right, Fearless Freddie.
  • Michael Brandon: Tooted Rheneas.
  • Rheneas: Ready, steady...
  • Skarloey: Go!
  • Michael Brandon: Freddie race along. Rheneas and Skarloey try to catch up with him, but Freddie was racing very fast until he began to run out of puff.
  • Freddie: Oh, no. Those young engines were will bump my buffers.
  • Michael Brandon: He chuffed sadly. Suddenly, he remembered an old track.
  • Freddie: The old rocky way.
  • Michael Brandon: He wheeshed.
  • Freddie: No one will remember that one.
  • Michael Brandon: Rheneas and Skarloey didn't see Freddie go a different way.
  • Freddie: This way's much quicker.
  • Michael Brandon: Huffed Freddie.
  • Freddie: I'll be at the bottom in no time.
  • Michael Brandon: Freddie rejoined the main track. Soon, Freddie was at the bottom of the hill.
  • Freddie: I did it!
  • Michael Brandon: Huffed Freddie.
  • Freddie: Those young engines couldn't catch me.
  • Rheneas: You're so fast.
  • Michael Brandon: Wheeshed Rheneas.
  • Skarloey: Race you again.
  • Michael Brandon: Chuffed Skarloey.
  • Skarloey: Please?
  • Freddie: Of course.
  • Michael Brandon: Tooted Freddie.
  • Freddie: Fearless Freddie never says no to a race. (chuckles)
  • Michael Brandon: In no time, the little engines were ready to race again.
  • Rheneas: We'll race you down the other side in no time.
  • Michael Brandon: Puffed Rheneas.
  • Freddie: The other side of the mountain is very steep.
  • Michael Brandon: Wheeshed Freddie.
  • Skarloey: You're not scared, are you?
  • Michael Brandon: Peeped Skarloey.
  • Freddie: Of course not. I'm Fearless Freddie.
  • Michael Brandon: Chuffed Freddie.
  • Freddie: Off we go!
  • Michael Brandon: Freddie raced ahead at the other engines. Soon, he began to run out of puff again. But Freddie didn't want to lose. Then, Freddie remembered another old track.
  • Freddie: The cracky track.
  • Michael Brandon: Huffed Freddie.
  • Freddie: I know this railway like the back on my buffers.
  • Michael Brandon: And soon, he arrived at the bottom safe and sound. But Rheneas and Skarloey weren't safe and sound at all. The track was very steep. Rheneas and Skarloey were determined to puff Freddie's buffers, so they were racing very fast.
  • Skarloey: Faster!
  • Michael Brandon: Wheeshed Skarloey. Then, there was trouble. Rheneas raced right off the track.
  • Skarloey: Oh, no!
  • Michael Brandon: Cried Skarloey. Freddie was waiting at the bottom of the mountain. He was very pleased with himself. Suddenly, Skarloey raced in.
  • Skarloey: Rheneas has come off the track!
  • Michael Brandon: Skarloey cried.
  • Skarloey: And I don't know where he is. We were really tried to catch you, Fearless Freddie, but you were too fast.
  • Michael Brandon: Sir Handel arrived with the Narrow Gauge Controller. He had heard what it happened to Rheneas.
  • Freddie: It's all my fault, sir.
  • Michael Brandon: Chuffed Freddie sadly.
  • Freddie: I used old tracks.
  • Skarloey: You tricked us.
  • Michael Brandon: Tooted Skarloey.
  • Skarloey: And now Rheneas is lost and in trouble.
  • Freddie: No, he isn't.
  • Michael Brandon: Whistled Freddie loudly.
  • Freddie: I can find him. I know all the old tracks. Please sir, follow me.
  • Michael Brandon: Freddie led the rescue party along another forgotten track. The track ran down to the valley. And there was Rheneas.
  • Rheneas: I'm so happy you found me.
  • Michael Brandon: Peeped Rheneas.
  • Freddie: So am I. (chuckles)
  • Michael Brandon: Chuffed Freddie. In no time, Rheneas was back on the track. And all the engines puff back to the Transfer Yards.
  • Freddie: I'm sorry I tricked you.
  • Michael Brandon: Puffed Freddie.
  • Freddie: You're much faster engines than me.
  • Rheneas: But you know all the old tracks.
  • Michael Brandon: Peeped Rheneas.
  • Rheneas: Please tell us about them.
  • Michael Brandon: So Freddie began to tell the young engines tales from the old tracks. Everyone was happy Fearless Freddie was back.

James The Second Best

  • (We open this episode with the Season 8-10 intro.

  • Thomas: Hello, everybody! Welcome to the Island of Sodor!
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • (Toby's bell rings)
  • (Trevor's whistle toots)
  • (Edward's whistle toots)
  • (A wheesh of steam occurs and we begin James The Second Best)
  • Michael Brandon: James The Second Best. James and Edward have the same size. They both have black funnels, buffers at the front, and tenders at the back. And they are both engines on Sir Topham Hatt's Railway. One morning, Sir Topham Hatt brought a photographer to Tidmouth Sheds.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: This year, there is to be a holiday poster for the railway.
  • Michael Brandon: Sir Topham Hatt said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: And I need an engine to be on the poster.
  • Michael Brandon: All the engines were very excited. James was sure his photographer would be taken.
  • James: I will look wonderful on the poster.
  • Michael Brandon: Thought James.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: The engine on the Sodor Railway poster will be...Edward!
  • Michael Brandon: Announced Sir Topham Hatt. Edward was delighted. But James couldn't believe it. He was sure a red engine would be just the thing for the poster. The photographer try to take a picture of Edward, but James got in the way.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: James, leave the shed now.
  • Michael Brandon: Ordered Sir Topham Hatt. James puffed sadly away. Soon the posters were seen all over the island. But James still want to be the poster engine.
  • James: I wonder why Edward was chosen instead of me?
  • Michael Brandon: James puffed.
  • Henry: Because,
  • Michael Brandon: Huffed Henry.
  • Henry: Edward is always gentle with the freight cars.
  • Percy: And he doesn't mind doing the dirty jobs.
  • Michael Brandon: Puffed Percy.
  • Thomas: And he's always on time.
  • Michael Brandon: Chuffed Thomas. James was cross.
  • James: I can do all those things too.
  • Michael Brandon: Podded James.
  • James: I'll show you that I'm good enough to be on the poster.
  • Michael Brandon: And he chuffed away. The next day, Edward and Thomas were working in the yard. Edward shunted his freight cars softly and smoothly. When James arrived, he shunted his freight cars softly and smoothly too.
  • James: See? I can be gentle just like Edward.
  • Michael Brandon: Puffed James.
  • James: I am good enough to be on the poster.
  • Thomas: Edward finished a long time ago.
  • Michael Brandon: Teased Thomas.
  • Thomas: He's already delivered his coal. That's why he's the poster engine.
  • Michael Brandon: James wanted to be as good as Edward, so he raced off to collect his coal cars. James delivered dirty coal cars all afternoon. He became greasy, grimy and grubby and his bright shiny red coat was soon covered in coal dust.
  • James: See?
  • Michael Brandon: Huffed James.
  • James: I can get just as dirty as Edward. I am good enough to be on the poster.
  • Michael Brandon: But James was so dirty it took a long time to get him clean. James was soaped and scrubbed. They even brushed behind his buffers.
  • Percy: Your gentle shunting and getting dirty has made you late for your passengers.
  • Michael Brandon: Puffed Percy cheekily.
  • Percy: Edward is always on time. That's why he's the poster engine.
  • Michael Brandon: Then, James had an idea.
  • James: If I take Gordon's express line instead of the branch line,
  • Michael Brandon: He thought.
  • James: I will arrive before Edward and collect my passengers first. That will show everyone I'm good enough to be on the poster.
  • Michael Brandon: So James puffed on to Gordon's line. They he raced across the countryside. James rattled over bridges and clattered through tunnels. He really wanted to get in front of Edward. James puffed back on to Edward's line.
  • James: It worked!
  • Michael Brandon: Laughed James.
  • James: I'm first!
  • Michael Brandon: Suddenly the signal turned red. James applied his brakes and screeched to a halt, but Edward couldn't stop in time.
  • (James crashes into the poster)
  • Edward: Sorry.
  • Michael Brandon: Huffed Edward.
  • Edward: I didn't have time to stop.
  • James: Don't worry.
  • Michael Brandon: Moaned James.
  • James: It was my fault for pushing in.
  • Thomas: You're finally in the poster.
  • Michael Brandon: Chuckled Thomas.
  • Thomas: Maybe you're not good enough after all.
  • Michael Brandon: But James didn't feel very good. He felt very silly. Soon, Emily arrived with Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: James, your racing around has caused confusion and delay.
  • Michael Brandon: Sir Topham Hatt said sternly.
  • James: Yes sir, sorry sir.
  • Michael Brandon: James puffed sadly.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Edward, your cylinder has been damaged. You can't take the children to the seaside today.
  • Michael Brandon: The children at the station were very sad.
  • Children: But we wanted to ride on the poster engine.
  • Michael Brandon: The children cried. James felt worse than ever.
  • James: Please, sir.
  • Michael Brandon: James puffed.
  • James: If I was a back engine, all the children could still ride on Edward.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: What a wonderful idea.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Sir Topham Hatt. Edward and his passenger cars were very heavy. But James pushed him slowly to the seaside. His pistons pumped and his axles ached, but James pressed on. They stopped along way to pick up more children.
  • Children: It's Edward!
  • Michael Brandon: The children cheered.
  • Children: And look at James! He's pushing him! Isn't James a grand engine for being so kind?
  • Michael Brandon: James was so proud it made his boiler bubbled. He felt more useful than he had ever felt before.
  • Edward: Even thought you weren't the engine on the poster.
  • Michael Brandon: Puffed Edward.
  • Edward: You are still really useful.
  • (Another wheesh of steam occurs and we begin Engine Roll Call)

  • (Edward's whistle toots)
  • (A wheesh of steam occurs and we begin Thomas and The Lighthouse)
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas and The Lighthouse. It was the Harvest Festival celebration on the Island of Sodor. There was going to be a big fireworks party in the evening. All the engines had special jobs. And they were all very excited. Sir Topham Hatt came to Tidmouth sheds.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Thomas you must take a new lightbulb to the lighthouse.
  • Thomas: Yes, sir.
  • Michael Brandon: Tooted Thomas.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: The bulb must get to the lighthouse before dark, so that ships at sea can find their way safely home to Sodor. The lightbulb will break easily. You must go slowly and carefully.
  • Michael Brandon: Sir Topham Hatt added. So Thomas puffed quickly away to the warehouse. Thomas started to daydream about the big party. There would be clowns. The choir would be singing. And he'd see the wonderful display of fireworks. Thomas chuffed towards the warehouse. He was very excited. Thomas collected the lightbulb. Then he set off slowly and carefully, as Sir Topham Hatt had told him. Thomas slowed down at every bend...and chuffed carefully through every junction. Thomas stopped at a signal. Emily was there. She was pulling the carousel. She was very excited.
  • Emily: The fireworks are going to start when it gets dark!
  • Michael Brandon: She cried. Thomas wanted to be back in time to see the fireworks. But the lighthouse was on the far side of the island. It was a long way, and it would take a long time to get there. Then an idea flew into Thomas's funnel.
  • Thomas: I'm sure the lightbulb wouldn't break if I went just a little faster.
  • Michael Brandon: He chuffed. And so, Thomas speeded up, just a little. Thomas puffed along. He saw James at the water tower. James had wagons and wagons and wagons of fireworks.
  • James: This is going to be the biggest firework party ever.
  • Michael Brandon: James whistled happily. Now Thomas wanted to see the fireworks even more.
  • Thomas: I'm sure I can go just a little faster.
  • Michael Brandon: He chuffed. So Thomas speeded up...just a little more. Thomas chuffed faster still. The bulb started to rattle and shake on his flatbed. Every time Thomas met another engine, he became more and more excited. Henry huffed along with swings and a seesaw.
  • Henry: It's going to be a wonderful party.
  • Michael Brandon: Puffed Henry. Thomas went a little faster. Then he met Toby with the clown costumes.
  • Toby: See you at the firework party, Thomas.
  • Michael Brandon: He rang. Thomas went a little faster. He saw Percy with cars of children in fancy dress. The children were very excited.
  • Children: See ya, Thomas.
  • Michael Brandon: Cried the children. Now Thomas wanted to be back for the fireworks party more than ever. Before Thomas knew it, he was puffing very fast. Then there was trouble. Harvey was replacing some tracks. Workmen had put a barrier across the track to warn the engines, but Thomas was now going too fast to stop safely. He bashed into the barrier. And the lightbulb broke.
  • Thomas: Cinders and ashes!
  • Michael Brandon: Cried Thomas.
  • Thomas: The lighthouse will not have its light. And the ships won't be safe at sea.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas puffed quickly back to the warehouse to collect a new lightbulb. He knew now he would be too late to see the fireworks. Thomas had to stop at a signal. Edward was waiting. He was excited.
  • Thomas: I'm off to collect the Chinese dragon.
  • Michael Brandon: He tooted. But all Thomas could think about was getting the new lightbulb. With the new lightbulb safely on board, Thomas set off slowly and carefully. He knew he must deliver this bulb safely to the lighthouse. So when Toby passed with the choir practicing their songs...and when Edward passed with the Chinese dragon, Thomas didn't think about the fireworks party at all. Not once. Thomas arrived at the lighthouse just in time. The bulb was quickly unloaded.
  • Lighthouse Keeper: Thank you, Thomas
  • Michael Brandon: Said the lighthouse keeper. And Thomas puffed back to Tidmouth sheds. He knew he had missed the fireworks party completely. Then Thomas came to the top of a hill, and he saw a wonderful sight. The lighthouse beamed brightly. The ships' lights twinkled in the harbor, and the sea reflected the stars. And even though there were no rockets or Catherine wheels, Thomas thought it looked as wonderful as the fireworks.

  • (Toby's bell rings)
  • (Trevor's whistle toots)
  • (Edward's whistle toots)
  • (A wheesh of steam occurs and we begin Thomas and The Runaway Car)
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas and The Runaway Car. It was a beautiful day on the Island of Sodor. Thomas was feeling especially happy. He was on his way to Brendam Docks to collect a special special. It was the day of the Sodor show. Sir Topham Hatt's brand-new car was being unloaded. It was in Lady Hatt's favorite color-- Hat Blue. Sir Topham Hatt had chosen Thomas to take the car from the docks to the Sodor show. Thomas was so proud, he thought his boiler would burst. Rocky was slowly lowering the car onto a flatbed.
  • Thomas: All the engines wanted this job.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas puffed proudly.
  • Gordon: Sir Topham Hatt chose me to take the brand-new bandstand.
  • Michael Brandon: Huffed Gordon.
  • Gordon: And I'm ready to go. I'll be first at the Sodor show.
  • Michael Brandon: This made Thomas cross.
  • Thomas: I'll deliver Sir Topham Hatt's brand-new car to the Sodor show before you.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas whistled.
  • Gordon: Ha.
  • Michael Brandon: Snorted Gordon. And he chuffed off grandly.
  • Thomas: Hurry up, Rocky.
  • Michael Brandon: Puffed Thomas.
  • Rocky: I must be careful and you must wait.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Rocky. But Thomas didn't want to wait. At last, the car was on the flatbed.
  • Thomas: Hooray.
  • Michael Brandon: Tooted Thomas. Thomas pumped his pistons, ready to race. He didn't want for the dock man to connect the couplings. He steamed off, pushing Sir Topham Hatt's brand-new, Hat Blue car.
  • Rocky: Wait, Thomas!
  • Michael Brandon: Called Rocky.
  • Dock Men: Wait!
  • Michael Brandon: Called the dock men. But Thomas had a race to win and no time to lose.
  • Thomas: I'll show Gordon who's the fastest.
  • Michael Brandon: Tooted Thomas. The children cheered as he puffed passed.
  • Thomas: I'm on my way to the Sodor show.
  • Michael Brandon: He chuffed cheerfully. The fastest way to the Sodor show was to puff over Gordon's hill. Thomas's axles tingled, and his wheels trembled.
  • Thomas: Whee!
  • Michael Brandon: He gasped. And then...
  • Thomas: Whoa!
  • Michael Brandon: Sir Topham Hatt's brand-new, Hat Blue car slid away from Thomas and down the other side of the hill.
  • Thomas: Oh, no.
  • Michael Brandon: Cried Thomas. And he raced after the runaway car. Percy was waiting at a signal. Arthur puffed slowly into a siding. He had heavy wagons of fish.
  • Percy: Look out, Arthur!
  • Michael Brandon: Arthur's wheel spun as he raced straight into the buffers. The fish shot into the air.
  • Arthur: Oh, no!
  • Michael Brandon: Cried Arthur. Just then, Thomas chased through the junction.
  • Thomas: Sorry, Arthur.
  • Michael Brandon: He gasped.
  • Thomas: I have to keep up with the runaway car!
  • Michael Brandon: The runaway brand-new, Hat Blue car raced on. Thomas puffed harder and harder. Ahead, there were works on the track. Thick mud was everywhere. Rosie had just left the wash-down. Suddenly, she saw the runaway car racing towards her.
  • Rosie: Oh, no!
  • Michael Brandon: Cried Rosie. Rosie was covered in mud.
  • Thomas: Sorry, Rosie, can't stop.
  • Michael Brandon: Tooted Thomas, and he raced off. The brand-new Hat Blue car sped towards the junction. Gordon was waiting with the bandstand. Then there was trouble.
  • (Sir Topham Hatt's car crashes into a haystack)
  • Thomas: Oh, no.
  • Michael Brandon: Cried Thomas. Gordon was surprised.
  • Gordon: I told you I'd get to the Sodor show first.
  • Michael Brandon: And he puffed proudly away. Thomas huffed up to the haystack.
  • Thomas: Cinders and ashes.
  • Michael Brandon: He cried.
  • Thomas: I've lost the race, and now Sir Topham Hatt's brand-new car won't be at the Sodor show on time.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas felt terrible.
  • Thomas: I must go back to the docks for Rocky.
  • Michael Brandon: He puffed. Thomas pumped his pistons. Then he stopped.
  • Thomas: But I'm not strong enough to pull Rocky on my own.
  • Michael Brandon: He wheeshed. Gordon puffed proudly back down the line. He had won the race and delivered the bandstand.
  • Thomas: Gordon.
  • Michael Brandon: Whistled Thomas.
  • Thomas: I need your help.
  • Michael Brandon: Gordon could see that Thomas was very upset.
  • Thomas: Please, Gordon, would you go and collect Rocky? It needs a strong engine like you.
  • Michael Brandon: Gordon liked everyone to know he was strong. He also liked to help his friend Thomas. So, Gordon raced to the docks. Gordon collected Rocky and steamed back as fast as he could. Thomas was very happy to see Gordon chuff up with Rocky. This time Thomas waited patiently as Rocky lifted Sir Topham Hatt's car out of the haystack. Thomas wanted to thank his friend Gordon.
  • Thomas: Gordon.
  • Michael Brandon: He tooted.
  • Thomas: Would you like to deliver the car?
  • Michael Brandon: Gordon knew that delivering the brand new Hat Blue car was the most important job on the island.
  • Gordon: Thank you, Thomas.
  • Michael Brandon: He smiled to his friend. This time, there was no race. The two friends arrived together at the Sodor show. Sir Topham and Lady Hatt were very pleased to see their brand new Hat Blue car. Everyone clapped and cheered, and Thomas cheered loudest of all.

Thomas and The Stinky Cheese

  • (We open this episode with the Season 8-10 intro.
  • (A wheesh of steam occurs and we begin Thomas and The Stinky Cheese)
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas and The Stinky Cheese. The Island of Sodor is beautiful all year round. In the summer, the hedges are full of brightly-colored birds, the fields are full of animals, and the smell of wild flowers fills the air. Thomas was at the coaling plant. He was shunting freight cars with Diesel, 'Arry and Bert. Thomas didn't like working with diesel engines. And the diesel engines didn't like working with Thomas.
  • Diesel: The problem with working with steamies is that they are much too stinky.
  • 'Arry: And Thomas is the most stinky steamy ever.
  • Michael Brandon: Diesel, 'Arry and Bert laughed and laughed.
  • Thomas: It's not steamies who are stinky.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas puffed crossly.
  • Thomas: It's the diesels.
  • Michael Brandon: Just then Sir Topham Hatt arrived at the yard.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Thomas I need you to go to the dairy. There is a delivery waiting for you there.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas was happy to be away from the diesels. He was pleased to be going to the dairy.
  • Thomas: Maybe I will be taking cream to the chocolate factory.
  • Michael Brandon: He tooted. But when Thomas arrived at the dairy, his freight cars were full of stinky cheese.
  • Thomas: Yuck!
  • Michael Brandon: Huffed Thomas.
  • Thomas: That's the stinkiest cheese I have ever smelled.
  • Dairy Foreman: You must take it to the docks before the ship leaves.
  • Michael Brandon: Said the dairy foreman. Thomas buffered up. Then he puffed to the docks with the stinky cheese.
  • Thomas: Bust my buffers.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: Everyone will smell this cheese for miles.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas saw Diesel waiting at a junction.
  • Thomas: Oh, no.
  • Michael Brandon: Moaned Thomas.
  • Thomas: If Diesel smells how stinky I am, he'll tell everyone that I really am the stinkiest engine on Sodor. And I don't want everyone to think I'm stinky.
  • Michael Brandon: He puffed. Thomas backed quickly along the track.
  • Signalman: Thomas stop!
  • Michael Brandon: The signalman called.
  • Signalman: If you go that way, you'll be late.
  • Michael Brandon: But Thomas had already gone. Thomas raced through the countryside.
  • Thomas: No one will smell how stinky I am now.
  • Michael Brandon: He chuffed. But then Thomas saw 'Arry waiting in a siding.
  • Thomas: Oh, no, it's 'Arry.
  • Michael Brandon: Moaned Thomas.
  • Thomas: I can't let him smell how stinky I am.
  • Michael Brandon: So Thomas backed quickly away. And turned left at the next junction. Next, Thomas saw Bert. So this time he turned right.
  • Thomas: Wherever I go there are diesel engines.
  • Michael Brandon: Chuffed Thomas. Thomas puffed backwards and forwards across the island. He wanted to stay away from Diesel, 'Arry and Bert. But then there was trouble.
  • Thomas: Oh, no.
  • Michael Brandon: Groaned Thomas.
  • Thomas: I'm back at the dairy, right where I started.
  • Michael Brandon: Suddenly, Thomas saw 'Arry rumbling towards him. Thomas backed away as fast as he could. But he didn't see Bert pulling up behind him. Thomas bumped into Bert! And the stinky cheese shot into the air and splattered down all over Thomas Bert and 'Arry.
  • 'Arry: Now we're really stinky.
  • Michael Brandon: Moaned 'Arry.
  • Bert: The most stinky engines ever.
  • Michael Brandon: Groaned Bert. 'Arry and Bert rushed straight to the wash-down. Thomas wanted to go to the wash down, too, but Thomas's cheese was all over the track.
  • Thomas: What am I going to do?
  • Michael Brandon: He puffed sadly. Then the dairy foreman arrived.
  • Dairy Foreman: Thomas there is another cheese load ready at the dairy. But you'll have to puff quickly.
  • Michael Brandon: Said the foreman.
  • Dairy Foreman: The boat is waiting for you.
  • Michael Brandon: Soon Thomas was racing to the docks with a new delivery of cheese. Thomas could smell the stinky cheese.
  • Thomas: Phew.
  • Michael Brandon: He wheeshed. But he knew he had to carry on.
  • Thomas: Must get to the docks, must get to the docks.
  • Michael Brandon: He chuffed.
  • James: Oh, yuck, what a smelly delivery.
  • Michael Brandon: Wheeshed James as he passed. Even though his friends could smell the stinky cheese, Thomas chuffed on. When he arrived at the docks, Diesel was there being unloaded.
  • Diesel: Pee-yew. You really are the stinkiest steam engine on Sodor, Thomas.
  • Michael Brandon: He oiled.
  • Dockworkers: Thomas has brought the stinky cheese!
  • Michael Brandon: Cheered the dockworkers.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Well done, Thomas.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Sodor cheese is famous for being really stinky. And this is the most stinky Sodor cheese I have ever smelled. You are a really useful engine.
  • Thomas: Thank you, sir.
  • Michael Brandon: Puffed Thomas.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Now go to the wash-down.
  • Michael Brandon: Added Sir Topham Hatt. Just then, 'Arry and Bert arrived at the docks. They were shiny, clean and fresh from the wash-down.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Diesel, 'Arry and Bert.
  • Michael Brandon: Boomed Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Now you can shunt the stinky cheese.
  • 'Arry, Diesel and Bert: Oh, no.
  • Michael Brandon: Groaned 'Arry, Diesel and Bert.
  • Thomas: Pee-yew.
  • Michael Brandon: Puffed Thomas.
  • Thomas: What a stink!
