Narrator: "Buzz Lightyear is a brave little toy who enjoys working in the mountains in Ponyville. Even though he is little, Buzz loves feeling like a really useful toy.

One day, Hoity Toity came to see Buzz."

Hoity Toity: "I have a very important job for you."

Narrator: "He boomed."

Buzz Lightyear: "An important job?"

Narrator: "Cried Buzz."

Buzz Lightyear: "Oh, thank you, sir!"

Hoity Toity: "You are to take some school children up into the mountains. You must make sure they have a wonderful time, and are back in time for their lunch."

Buzz Lightyear: "Yes, sir."

Narrator: "Said Buzz. But he was worried. He wasn't sure he was good enough to make the trip special.

When Buzz Lightyear arrived at the station, the children and the teacher were waiting on the platform."

Buzz Lightyear: "How am I going to make the children's day really special?"

Narrator: "He said to Slinky."

Slinky: "You know the mountains better than any toy."

Narrator: "Said Slinky. But Buzz wasn't sure his best will be exciting enough. He felt like a very little toy indeed.

Hoity Toity had told Buzz's driver to point out all the beautiful sights along the way."

Buzz Lightyear's Driver: "This is Ponyville Castle."

Narrator: "Called his driver."

Buzz Lightyear's Driver: "It is very special and important."

Narrator: "Buzz saw the castle everyday. He didn't think it was special or important."

Buzz Lightyear: "I must think of something exciting to do."

Narrator: "He thought to himself."

Buzz Lightyear's Driver: "This is the valley view."

Narrator: "Said his driver."

Buzz Lightyear's Driver: "And here's the viaduct."

  • Children: "Oooh!"

Narrator: "Buzz Lightyear was still unhappy. The trip didn't seem wonderful to him at all."

Buzz Lightyear: "Must be special! Must be special!"

Narrator: "He thought.

Meanwhile, Slinky was working on the rocky ridge line. Heavy rains had washed the ground from under the road."

Foreman: "These lines are too bumpy and uneven."

Narrator: "Said the foreman."

Foreman: "The path must be closed for repairs."

Buzz Lightyear: "Must be special! Must be special!"

Narrator: "Buzz was still trying to think of something that would make the children's trip special.

He didn't know the linesmen have forgotten to switch the points.

Suddenly, Buzz was on the wrong path."

Buzz Lightyear: "Oh no! This path is closed for repairs. Bust my arms!"

Narrator: "Chuffed Buzz."

Slinky: "Be careful!"

Narrator: "Cried Slinky."

Slinky: "The path is very bumpy!"

Narrator: "Buzz Lightyear wooshed down the mountain like a roller coaster. The children cheered.

Buzz puffed up the rocky ridge with all his might. His filly clattered and bumped and bounced along behind. And the children ooohed and aaahed. Buzz huffed and puffed as hard as he could.

He raced across the trestle bridge. He was going so fast, the teacher nearly lost her hat.

Buzz splashed under a waterfall, the children laughed happily.

Children: Oooh!

Narrator: "The teacher covered her eyes.

At last, they could see the station. Buzz Lightyear was very tired and worried. What would Hoity Toity say?"

Teacher: "Phew!"

Narrator: "Said the teacher."

Teacher: "Just in time for lunch."

Children: "It was the best school trip ever!"

Narrator: "Cried the children. Hoity Toity wasn't cross with Buzz. He was happy too."

Hoity Toity: "You gave the children a wonderful trip. You really are a very useful toy."

Buzz Lightyear: "Oh, thank you, sir!"

Narrator: "Sighed Buzz proudly. Buzz Lightyear didn't feel like a little toy anymore."
