[edit] Defect Database Website
17inch “Bridget Riley” Powerbooks
by David Hudd - from 10 Dec 06
David's exemplary database website has been collecting and substantiating defect claims for months, and surely forms the most incontrovertible evidence that the great majority of the defective PowerBooks were manufactured in the W8 factory based in Shanghai around Mar-Apr 05, model: M9689 PowerBook G4 1.67GHz. If you haven't yet done so, registering your defective computer's details and photo there is the first of three actions recommended for every owner: see ACTION - For All.

Most likely the second ealiest initiative, thanks to one of our German comrades and the good people at AppleDefects.
Between them, the two AppleDefects resources contain links to at least eight threads at the official Apple Discussions forums, dating from before Apple administrators began their reign of censorship and censuring to suppress public discussions of our defect in Nov 06; four have so far been removed and the other four show “Replies are not allowed [...] This question is not answered.”
