Citizens of the World is an as-yet unproduced concept for an American “spy-fi” and political thriller television series created by Marian Mijinyawa. It presents an atypical setting for the science fiction narrative, being set in a slightly dystopic, quasi futuristic 22nd Century America.
The series explores the predicament of two people who, by a fluke, get involved with the operations of a covert black ops organization who are after a flash drive carrying an algorithm that one of them possesses. The series gradually branches off into three specific interchanging arcs involving a mysterious Central Intelligence Agency conspiracy, a private contracting company called NORAD and an algorithm codenamed Pillbox. Stand-alone episodes contained within each season explore the back stories of the main and recurring characters, without usually venturing far from the rolling story.
