As communication technology evolves and converges, human beings are transformed as well. Behavior, attitudes, and ideas interact with with these technologies and impact how, when, and why people communicate. Ethical, moral, and legal issues arise. Government and commerce adapt. Art and literature encompass. Individuals and communites adopt. As communication techologies have become ubiquitous across the globe, various social classes and cultures have embraced or resisted the effects in their own ways. The specific communication technologies are constantly undergoing change. For example, cellular phones, once bulky and price prohibitive, have become comparatively small and inexpensive while adding features such as video, e-mail, and music. Though interesting itself, an examination of the communication age is not primarily focused on communication technology. A study of the communication age treats the particular technology as incidental to the changes occuring to and issues arising among human beings as a result of those communication technologies; interpersonally, socially, politically, economically, and culturally. --Dr. Amy 20:26, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
