[edit] Community Impacts, Enhancements and Connections
This is a proposed fourth category.
1. Standards for impacts on the local community environmental and/or economic.
2. Guidelines for enhancing a community when starting a business, for example, housing developments including green spaces, paths and schools.
3. Guidelines for connecting with a community and building relationships that benefit the business and the community.
4. The book "A Pattern Language" by Alexander, Ishikawa and Silverstein not only discusses the ways in which architecture impacts people, but
also shows how buildings and communities work together. Several of the chapters are directly relevant to this subject,
such as chapter 152, "the Half Private office", but the discussions about the connections and relationships between buildings and community
can also in many cases be useful in understanding positive connections between businesses and communities.
