NESTED STRUCTURE 2

LESSON 2.3

TITLE: Potential Treatments

INTRODUCTION:

Students will be presented with an assignment of gathering information over the next three nested structure (3, 4 & 5) to come up with the characteristics that would comprise a successful treatment for cancer. They will evaluate their treatment as well as the other treatments according to established criteria for good treatments and fill in the chart to be handed in. The goal of the students is to revisit what they learned about treatments and cures.

OBJECTIVES:

• Students will develop skills for conducting web-based research. • Students will develop group-work skills as they attempt to create a successful treatment with little to no side effects. • Students will learn what the criteria scientists use to determine the success of a treatment.
