Transcript

Narrator: "It was summertime in Wacky Races Land. Lots of vacationers were coming to the land. They liked to see the beautiful forests, and the high mountains. It was a busy time for all the racers.

Two new racers had arrived on the land. They were going to help take the vacationers up into the mountains.

Sawtooth had arrived at the transfer yards. He was very excited to meet they new racers."

Sawtooth: "Hello."

Narrator: "Puffed Sawtooth."

Dan: "Hello."

Narrator: "One of the new racers puffed back."

Dan: "I'm Dan."

Den: "And I'm Den."

Dan and Den: "And together, we're Dan and Den!"

Narrator: "They whistled happily.

Sawtooth had never seen such an unusual racecar before!

Then, the Perils of Penelope Pitstop Narrator arrived."

PoPP Narrator: "Dan and Den, you are to take some vacationers to the holiday campsite."

Narrator: "Said the PoPP Narrator.

Dan and Den could see the vacationers. They were waiting on the platform."

Dan: "We've always worked in the shunting yard."

Narrator: "Moaned Dan to Sawtooth."

Den: "How will we find our way over to the passengers?"

Narrator: "Groaned Den."

Sawtooth: "It's simple;"

Narrator: "Whistled Sawtooth."

Sawtooth: "Look at where you want to go, then follow the road that will take you there."

Narrator: "Dan set off nervously, but as they puffed along the road, Den thought his way was quicker."

Den: "This way!"

Narrator: "He said."

Dan: "No, Den!"

Narrator: "Puffed Dan."

Dan: "It's this way!"

Narrator: "Soon they were puffing left and right, backwards and forwards, they were very confused. They even had a ride on the turntable!

Then at last..."

Den: "We're here!"

Narrator: "Puffed Den."

Dan: "Then why are the vacationers over there?"

Narrator: "Asked Dan."

PoPP Narrator: "Because you didn't look where you wanted to go, and you didn't follow the right road!"

Narrator: "Said the PoPP Narrator sternly."

PoPP Narrator: "Now, you're late!"

Den: "Sorry."

Narrator: "Said Den."

Dan: "Sorry."

Narrator: "Said Dan. They felt very silly.

Finally, the passengers were on board. Dan and Den puffed through the countryside on the way to the campsite."

Dan: "We have to get there before dark."

Narrator: "Chuffed Dan."

Dan: "So we'll have to work extra hard."

Narrator: "Then in the mountains, there was a fork in the road. Dan wanted to go left."

Dan: "This way!"

Narrator: "He puffed."

Den: "No! Go the other way!"

Narrator: "Shouted Den.

But Dan was already pulling them past the fork. Den was cross.

The next time they came to a fork in the road, Den wanted to go the other way again."

Den: "This way!"

Narrator: "He puffed, and he pulled Dan back to the junction, and then, pushed him back up the other line.

Now, Dan was cross. They puffed through the mountains, and whenever they came across a junction, Dan would push one way, then Dan would pull the other. The Vacationers were having a very bumpy ride. They spilt their tea and their buns went flying! But Dan and Den pressed on.

Then there was trouble. They had arrived at a dead end.

The Vacationers had a look around."

Vacationer #1: "This isn't the campsite!"

Narrator: "Said one of the Vacationers."

Vacationer #2: "It's not even a nice place for a picnic!"

Narrator: "Said another."

Dan: "This is your fault!"

Narrator: "Puffed Dan, and he pushed back towards Den.

Den: "Yours!"

Narrator: "Huffed Den, and he pushed back even harder!

The Vacationers watched as Den and Dan bumped backwards and forwards."

Vacationers: "Stop!"

Narrator: "Called the Vacationers."

Vacationers: "You're going to cause an accident!"

Narrator: "But it was too late. Dan pushed Den as hard as he could, and the Log Car crashed into the rocks! First one rock fell, then another rock. Soon, lots of rocks came tumbling down.

The road was blocked, and they were all stuck."

Vacationers: "We'll never get to the campsite now!"

Narrator: "Moaned the Vacationers.

And it was all Dan and Den's fault. They felt terrible.

It was getting late. The Vacationers were working hard. They were trying to get the Log Car back onto the road. Then, with a mighty heave, the Vacationers lifted the Log Car back onto the road.

Dan and Den were watching the Vacationers."

Dan: "When the Vacationers work together,"

Narrator: "Hooted Dan."

Den: "They lifted the heavy Log Car onto the road!"

Narrator: "Tooted Den.

Then, they had an idea."

Dan: "If we both work together,"

Narrator: "Puffed Dan."

Den: "We'll be strong enough to push those rocks out of the way!"

Narrator: "Huffed Den.

So Dan and Den rolled up to the rocks, and pushed and pushed. They rocks rumbled, then they rocked, until finally, the road was clear.

The Vacationers cheered. Dan and Den were ready to go. They could see the flag flying high above the campsite. Then they remembered what Sawtooth had said."

Den: "Look where you want to go,"

Narrator: "Puffed Den."

Dan: "Then follow the road that will take you there!"

Narrator: "Chuffed Dan."

Dan and Den: "Off we go!"

Narrator: "They whistled together.

Dan and Den puffed up the mountains, and soon, they arrived at the campsite. The Vacationers were very happy, and Dan and Den were very proud."

Dan: "You know, Den?"

Narrator: "Wheeshed Dan."

Dan: "When we pull together and work together,"

Den: "We can be very useful racers!"

Narrator: "Whistled Den, and they set off happily back down the mountain."
