From Scratchpad

Jump to: navigation, search

This is a summary of episodes from the second series of the UK version of the game show Deal or No Deal.

Records for Series 1a, Series 1b, Series 2b, Series 3a and the current series are also available.

This covers episodes from August to October 25 2006, eleven episodes were missed out due to the host, Noel Edmonds, briefly falling ill. Recording on Series 2b began on October 26.

The highlighted amount shows the amount actually won by the contestant, either by dealing, or by continuing to the end and opening their box or a swapped box (swaps shown in orange). Offers shown after the deal was made are "hypothetical" offers if they had played on.

[edit] Footnotes

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 This game has been repeated in the classic series
  2. This is the fourth highest offer in active play, behind £125,000, £120,000, and £101,000. It also makes Lance the seventh-highest winner so far, behind £250,000 (Laura), £120,000 (Jennifer), £110,000 (Bunney), £107,031 (Claudine), £101,000 (Graeme) and £100,000 (Gaz).
  3. This is the lowest peak offer in a game where the contestant went on to win a penny.
  4. Sharron became the 8th member (and the 2nd female member) of the 1p club. In the space of 12 shows (although there was a 5 week break between the 8th and 9th of these shows) 4 people have left with a penny, meaning one third of a group of 12 left with 1p.
  5. Before this offer was made, Ottis had knocked out the entire Power Five in 5 consecutive boxes (the last two boxes in Round 1 and all three boxes in Round 2). This is the first time that the Power Five has been removed its entirety in 5 consecutive boxes.
  6. When Michaela revealed her box to contain the £250,000 to complete the game, this was the fourth show in a row that she had the £250,000. The odds of this happening to any one particular player is 234,255 to 1.
  7. Bill became known as 'Cocky' Bill after calling the banker cocky for making a joke offer of £2 to fellow contestant Sandra.
  8. Joseph previously left the game in June. His last show was in the afternoon of June 16 (the first show of the day) before he was taken ill with bronchopneumonia.
  9. This was the 250th show. As it was the 250th show, the Banker phoned at the beginning to tell the contestants that if Nev takes out the 1p out on the first round, then each contestant would get £250, however, Nev did not find the 1p and they therefore did not get it.
  10. Nev's original box, #15, contained only £20,000, but he would have swapped for box #5 which contained £250,000.
  11. This is the first game to have a 5-figure offer at every stage.
  12. Before Noel finished asking the question, The Banker increased the offer from £42,000 to £48,000. In the next offer, he changed the offers again.
  13. Original contestant Ashley, who is a police officer, was called to a court case prior to the game being filmed and so was replaced by Harry. Noel confirmed he would be returning.
  14. Michaela had said that fellow contestant Sarah-Jane was a porn-star. This made the banker say that Michaela had a one-track mind, and hence offered £6,969.
  15. This is currently the highest second offer ever, after Matt took out a record 8 blues in a row.
  16. Ashley returned to the show after his court case ended. He was placed back in his original position, moving Harry.
  17. Ashley said his police number was 6,379. That is why every offer up to the fifth had 6379 on the end.
  18. The banker had fallen out with Steve so the offer was displayed as £6,000 + the book 'How to make friends and influence people'.
  19. The offer was originally £15,000, but when Steve commented on the offer and referred to it as "obvious", The Banker called to reduce the offer.
  20. The Banker offered Sarah-Jane a set of steak knives along with her offer as a late wedding present.
  21. As of October 8 the Deal or No Deal weekend show was moved from Saturday to Sunday, though the shows were originally to be aired on Saturday.
  22. The last unopened box, for which the contestant swapped her box, was the box worth £100,000. This is the largest loss when a box has been swapped.
  23. The banker told Lisa that if she did an elaborate dance to the show's theme tune, he would give high and very generous offers. After speaking to the banker, Lisa agreed to dance, and did a very enthusiastic dance around the studio.
