  • George Carlin: WALL-E works in the yard at the big house. He loves playing jokes, but they could get him into trouble. One morning, he was very cheeky indeed.
  • WALL-E: Hurry up Sir Ector! The load's ready.
  • George Carlin: Sir Ector thought he was late.
  • WALL-E: Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
  • George Carlin: Laughed WALL-E. And showed him some dirty monkeys. Sir Ector thought how to get back at WALL-E for teasing him. Next, it was Donald's turn.
  • WALL-E: Stay in the house today, Donald. Mickey Mouse will come and see you.
  • Donald Duck: Ah!
  • George Carlin: Thought Donald.
  • Donald Duck: Mickey Mouse knows I'm a fine duck. He wants me to take a special load.
  • George Carlin: Donald's animator could not make him move. The other disney characters grumbled dreadfully. They had to do Donald's work as well as their own. At last, Jiminy Cricket arrived.
  • Jiminy Cricket: Show a leg, Donald. You can't stay here all day.
  • Donald Duck: Mickey Mouse told me to stay here. He sent a message this morning.
  • Jiminy Cricket: He did not! How could he? He's away for a week.
  • Donald Duck: Oh!
  • George Carlin: Said Donald.
  • Donald Duck: Oh! Where's WALL-E?
  • George Carlin: WALL-E had wisely disappeared. When Mickey Mouse came back, he was cross with Donald and WALL-E for causing so much trouble. But the next day, WALL-E was still being cheeky.
  • WALL-E: I say you characters. I'm to take some monkeys to Pongo's house. Mickey Mouse chose me especially. He must know I'm a really useful robot.
  • Donald Duck: More likely he wants you out of the way.
  • George Carlin: Grunted Donald. Sir Ector look across to Donald. They were going to play a trick on WALL-E.
  • Sir Ector: Donald and I were just speaking about signals at the junction. We can't be too careful about signals. But then I needn't say that to a really useful robot like you, WALL-E.
  • George Carlin: WALL-E felt flattered.
  • Donald Duck: We had spoken of backing signals.
  • George Carlin: Put in Donald.
  • Donald Duck: They need extra special care, you know. Would you like me to explain?
  • WALL-E: No thank you Donald.
  • George Carlin: Said WALL-E.
  • WALL-E: I know all about signals.
  • George Carlin: But WALL-E was a little worried.
  • WALL-E: I wonder what backing signals are.
  • George Carlin: He thought.
  • WALL-E: Never mind. I'll manage.
  • George Carlin: He was cross with his monkeys, but then felt better. He came to a signal.
  • WALL-E: Bother! It's a danger.
  • George Carlin: The signal moved to show road clear. It's arm moved up instead of down. WALL-E had never that sort of signal before.
  • WALL-E: Down means go and up means stop, so upper still must mean go back. I know! It's one of those backing signals.
  • WALL-E's Animator: Come on WALL-E.
  • George Carlin: Said his animator.
  • WALL-E's Animator: Off we go. Stop! You're going the wrong way.
  • WALL-E: But it's a backing signal.
  • George Carlin: WALL-E protested and told him about Sir Ector and Donald. The animator laughed and explained.
  • WALL-E: Oh dear!
  • George Carlin: Said WALL-E.
  • WALL-E: Let's start quickly before they see us.
  • George Carlin: He was too late. Sir Ector saw everything. That night the big disney characters talked about signals. They thought the subject was funny. WALL-E thought they were being very silly.
