A video series on YouTube that is a jab at the media's pseudo-education, like creativity. The video is from a company named This Is It. The series lasted 6 episodes.

Premise[]

For each episode, the main characters Yellow Guy, Red Guy, and Green Guy, are lectured by singing sentient objects about various concepts, such as creativity, time, and technology. However, things go wrong around the final act, and some teachers turn out to be flat-out malevolent and manipulative.

Characters[]

  • Yellow Guy: The youngest of the main characters. He represents a child that is given bad advice by the media.
  • Red Guy: The second oldest of the main characters. He gradually represents the concept of growing up by moving on to the real world.
  • Green Guy: The eldest of the main characters. He gets killed off and eaten alive in the 5th episode.
  • Roy: The Yellow Guy's father. He was eventually revealed to be the man responsible for everything that happens in the series, cementing him as the series' main antagonist.

Teachers[]

For each episode, there is always a teacher who talks about education towards Yellow Guy, Red Guy, and Green Guy. However, they tend to have more sinister goals in mind, and are often hypocritical, representing the contradicting information that the media and society often give out. Each teacher serves as the main antagonist for each respective episode they star in.

  • Notepad: The first teacher, who obviously resembles a notepad. She talks about the concept of creativity, encouraging the three main characters to be creative. Her methods of teaching causes the main cast to go insane near the end of the episode.
  • Tony the Talking Clock: The second teacher. He is a sentient clock who talks about the importance of time. His subject matter is often considered by many to be one of the darkest subjects out of the whole series, due to one of his last lines stating that eventually, everyone runs out of time.
  • Shrignold the Butterfly: The third teacher. He is a talking butterfly who sings about the concept of love. However, he uses it as a façade to trick others into joining his cult, who worships a deity named King Malcolm.
  • Colin the Computer: The fourth teacher. He is a talking computer who has a tendency to bring up irrelevant topics every time one tries to ask an important question. He symbolizes internet addiction.
  • The Healthy Band: The fifth teacher, which comes in a group. The main leaders are a male talking steak and a female talking food can. They condemn Green Guy's choice of food as greedy, despite encouraging certain kind of food that are just as unhealthy. Unlike previous teachers, they do in fact, kill off one of the main characters at the end of the episode.
  • The Lamp: The sixth and final teacher. He is a talking lamp who tries to get Yellow Guy to learn about having a dream before he goes to sleep. Yellow Guy refuses to listen, after learning the true motives of all of the previous teachers he has encountered. The Lamp, like every previous teacher (barring Notepad), is an illusion created by Roy's machine to torment his son.

Reception[]

The series is received positively by many for tackling children's education by incorporating some dark elements into each episode.

A lot of people interpret the series as a jab at the hypocrisy and toxicity of the media, when taking into account the contradictive information each teacher tends to give out to all of the main characters.
