Part 1[]

  • (We see Kuzco and the others watch Dorian handing Krystal the bouquet of flowers)
  • Dorian: For you.
  • Krystal: (sniffing them) Ah, thanks.
  • Kuzco: Nice Cody and Karin outfits.
  • Dorian: We're leaving on a date.
  • Krystal: Good luck.
  • Malina: We will.
  • Nancy: Hmph!
  • Shinji: Something wrong?
  • Nancy: I'm in a rivalry with Keith!
  • Rita: She's Krystal's younger brother.
  • Nancy: That boy will be in trouble!
  • Amara: We're warning you.
  • Nancy: Grr!
  • (The Conductors appear)
  • Mr. Conductor 2: Whoa, Nancy.
  • Kronk: She's in a bad temper.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Thomas had a deal with lateness.
  • Samantha: Thomas?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: I can tell.
  • (Mr. Conductor 1 blows his whistle and Better Late Than Never starts)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: The engines were finding life difficult. Workmen were mending the viaduct on the main line. The arches needed strenghtany. Sir Topham Hatt did not want to close the railway while the work was done and so repairs took a long time. The engines have to take great care when crossing the viaduct and the delay often made them late on their journey to the junction where they knew Thomas would be ready to collect his passengers. Thomas grew crosser and crosser.
  • Thomas: Time's time.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He grumbled.
  • Thomas: Why should I keep my passengers waiting while Henry and James dawdle about all day on viaducts?
  • Henry: Don't blame me.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Snorted Henry.
  • Henry: If we hurried to cross the viaduct, it might collapsed, and then you have no passengers at all. What would you do then?
  • Thomas: Run my train on time for one thing.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Retorted Thomas. He hurried away before Henry could answer. Bertie was impatient too. He was time to arrived just after Thomas. His passengers found that, instead of going stright from the bus till their train, they were kept waiting till Thomas arrived. Soon Bertie grew cross with Thomas.
  • Bertie: Late again!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He remarked as Thomas panted wearly in.
  • Bertie: We may be friends, but I thought you could go fast, Thomas. It's time we had another race. I reckon I can beat you now.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Thomas let off steam loudly.
  • Thomas: Rubbish!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He hissed fiercly.
  • Thomas: It's those main line engines. They differ about on the viaduct, and they blamed Sir Topham Hatt's workmen. It's just an excuse for laziness if you ask me.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: One day, James was later than ever at the junction.
  • James: I'm sorry, Thomas.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He puffed.
  • James: I was held up at the station, and the viaduct made it worse.
  • Thomas: It's lucky for you I'm a guaratee connection.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Grumbled Thomas. Before James could answer, he puffed importantly away.
  • Thomas: Come along, come along!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He panted to the coaches. Annie and Clarabel did their best but Thomas still found that he couldn't save much time. Suddenly, Thomas saw Bertie ahead. His radiator was steaming.
  • Thomas: What's the matter?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Asked Thomas.
  • Thomas: You should be at the station by now. You're late.
  • Bertie: I feel dreadful.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Moaned Bertie.
  • Bertie: All upset inside and driver says he can't make me better. Thank goodness you're late too. Can you take my passengers please? They'll never get home overwise.
  • Thomas: Of course.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Agreed Thomas. He now felt sorry for Bertie, and promised to get help at the next station. Thomas set off again already he felt much more cheerful and Bertie's passengers, travelling in Annie and Clarabel all reached home safely. When Bertie was better he came to thank Thomas.
  • Bertie: I'm sorry I teased you about being late.
  • Thomas: That's all right.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Replied Thomas.
  • Thomas: I'm glad I can help. There are times when being late isn't such a bad thing after all.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: With the last cheerful greeting, the two friends went back to work.
  • (Bertie's horn honks)
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • (Better Late Than Never ends)
  • Samantha: Thomas did know lateness.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Of course.
  • (The Conductors disappear)
  • Nancy: (starts crying like a siren)
  • Kuzco: Nancy!
  • Volt: What!?
  • Bakura: She's crying!
  • (End of Part 1)

Part 2[]

  • (We see Dorian asking Krystal to dance at the Street Fighter date)
  • Dorian: (kissing Krystal's hand) You're pretty. Shall we dance?
  • Krystal: Certainly.
  • (Dorian and Krystal start dancing)
  • (We see Kuzco and the others with a crying Nancy)
  • Kuzco: Don't start crying.
  • Nancy: (teary eyed) No, you're all cowards!
  • Rita: Cowards!?
  • Nancy: (whimpers and starts crying like a siren)
  • Renee: Ow! My ears!
  • Kronk: Make it stop!
  • Amara: Enough already!
  • Nancy: (crying loudly) I hate it!
  • Woodruff: (holding Nancy) There, there.
  • (The Conductors reappear)
  • Mr. Conductor 2: Poor Nancy.
  • Malina: Keith will laugh at her.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Duck wanted to be in sea.
  • Woodruff: That might cheer Nancy up.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: I can tell.
  • (Mr. Conductor 1 blows his whistle and All At Sea starts)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Percy and Duck like working at the harbour by the sea. On a clear summer's night, there's no better place to be. The big ships bring passengers. Cargo ships carry machinery and other things. Duck and Percy puffed backwards and forwards with the crates of cargo as they are loaded and unloaded by the keyside. One morning, Duck and Percy noticed that the horizon was packed with sails flapping against the blue sky.
  • Duck: I wish i could sail to faraway lands.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Sighed Duck.
  • Percy: Engines can't go sailing.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Snorted Percy.
  • Percy: Because engines can't float.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Duck still had his dreams. Suddenly, they were rudely interrupted.
  • Harold: Wakey, wakey.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Hovered Harold.
  • Duck: I'm looking at the boats.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Replied Duck.
  • Harold: That's the regatta. Lots of boats, lots of races. Great fun. I hover around in case i'm needed.
  • Duck: Do you go to the horizon?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Asked Duck.
  • Harold: Yes and beyond.
  • Percy: I didn't know there was a beyond.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Whispered Percy.
  • Duck: Do you go to other places at sea?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Continued Duck.
  • Harold: Certainly. I can land on ships you know. Anywhere, anytime. Goodbye.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Duck sighed. He went on talking about the regatta all day. Percy lost patience.
  • Percy: Well, Duck, I rather had my wheels on solid ground. Our rails can take us to all the places we can ever wish to see.
  • (We hear a siren wailing)
  • Duck's Driver: That's an emergency.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Called Duck's driver.
  • Duck's Driver: I'll check with the harbourmaster.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He returned with bad news.
  • Duck's Driver: A man taking part in the regatta had hurt his hand. We're to take him to the hospital at the next station. Harold's bringing him now. Come on.
  • Harold: Good to see you again, Duck.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Whirred Harold as he landed carefully on the platform. The man was gently helped to safety.
  • Harold: My job is to stay at sea in case of other emergencies. Otherwise i will take this gentleman to hospital myself. Must fly. Goodbye.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Duck set off on his journey. Soon he was steaming well and his wheels were thundering along the track. When they reached the station, the man thanked everyone and Bertie got ready to take him to the hospital.
  • Bertie: You look splendid flying along the line, Duck.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Bloat Bertie.
  • Bertie: No wonder they called you great western.
  • Duck: Thank you, Bertie. Percy's right.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He thought to himself.
  • Duck: Engines are happiest when their wheels are firmly on the rails.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: That night, Percy and Duck stayed a little longer at the key. The air was warm and the sea calmed.
  • Duck: There's a shooting star.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said Duck.
  • Percy: Don't be daft.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Laughed Percy.
  • Percy: It's Harold. Look, he's hovering overhead.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Something fluttered down towards Duck. His driver caught it.
  • Duck's Driver: It's a flag from the regatta. Harold's giving it to you as a present, Duck.
  • Duck: That was kind of Harold.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Whispered Duck.
  • Duck: He may have whirly arms instead of wheels. But he seems to understand just what an engine needs.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Duck still wonders about the lands beyond the horizon. But i think he knows that, sometimes, the best travels are those we can only dream about. Don't you?
  • (All At Sea ends)
  • Woodruff: Duck did get on the sea.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Yes he is.
  • (The Conductors disappear)
  • Nancy: (snoring)
  • Kuzco: At last, Nancy is sleeping.
  • Forrester: Let's all sleep together.
  • Shinji: What a great idea.
  • (End of Part 2)

Part 3[]

  • (We see Dorian and Krystal still dancing to music at the Street Fighter date)
  • Dorian: (twirling Krystal) Round and round.
  • Krystal: You're making me giddy.
  • (Dorian and Krystal continue dancing)
  • (We see Kuzco and the others napping while The Conductors reappear)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Both Nancy and Keith are born on October 1, 2005.
  • Mr. Conductor 2: Of course.
  • (The Conductors shake hands as the episode ends)
  • (End of Part 3)
