Down In The Dumps is the thirteenth episode of the first season of WarioWare. It aired on Kids' WB on December 3, 2005 and on Cartoon Network on March 19, 2008.

Plot

  • This Dexter's Laboratory themed episode focuses on 9-Volt and Penny Crygor. One day, as 9-Volt is writing a note to his pen pal, Penny plays with her beloved Teddy bear named Mr. Fizzle. However, 9-Volt's invention goes awry as Penny's teddy bear goes flying right into the garbage truck. Devastated, she breaks into tears and 9-Volt is to blame. Meanwhile, Dribble and Spitz hear that Penny has lost her teddy bear and they don their detective outfits to go on a search. Luckily, they find Mr. Fizzle in the dumpster, courtesy of Rob The Garbageman (voiced by Jeff Bennett). After that, 9-Volt tells his mom and Penny's family that he has saved the day and Mitzi and Dr. Crygor, including 18-Volt, agree.

  • (The episode opens with the English version of Drifting Away)

  • (The episode then finds 9-Volt writing a note to his pen pal)
  • 9-Volt: Dear pen pal. It's been a pleasure to know that i'm gonna be a cool genius. I'll be waiting for you in my house for dinner. Sincerely, 9-Volt.
  • (Penny walks up to him, holding a stuffed teddy bear)
  • Penny: Hey, 9-Volt. Look what i got from the carnival.
  • 9-Volt: Back right off, Penny. I've just wrote a note from...
  • (He doesn't notice Penny's teddy bear)
  • 9-Volt: Gah! Stay away.
  • Penny: I love teddy bears and everyone knows about a good old song.
  • (She starts to sing Me and My Teddy before 9-Volt could reply)
  • Penny: Me and my best teddy bear Sitting in my favorite chair, We are going out to play Just like every day. I got lots of friends out there And they're lots of fun, But they're not my teddy bear He's my favorite one. Me and my teddy, gettin' all ready Gettin' all ready to play. Me and my teddy, gettin' all ready Gettin' all ready to play. You know, I've got a lot of friends that I play with. You know, I've got a lot of friends who are fun. But then they can't do anything like my teddy, 'Cause my teddy, he is the one. Me and my teddy, gettin' all ready Gettin' all ready for bed.   • (Me and My Teddy ends)
  • Penny: I love you, sweet little teddy.
  • 9-Volt: I'd better get a plan.
  • (9-Volt shows Penny the Rocket Coaster machine)
  • Penny: What!? You're gonna do that to me?
  • 9-Volt: (placing Mr. Fizzle to the seat) Just watch.
  • (He presses a huge button and Mr. Fizzle is launched into the sky, but the rocket detaches)
  • (Mr. Fizzle is sent plummeting down into a nearby garbage truck)
  • Penny: Mr. Fizzle no!
  • (Mr. Fizzle is gone and Penny is left in a state of shock)
  • Penny: Mr. Fizzle?
  • (She shudders violently and screams loudly and falls to the ground in tears)
  • 9-Volt: I'm sorry, Penny. My bad.
  • Penny: (through her tears) You coward! You dumped my teddy bear into a garbage because of you!
  • (9-Volt gasps)
  • Penny: I won't allow it!
  • (She runs back to her house and races upstairs to her room while crying and locks herself inside)
  • Penny: And i will never be able to see Mr. Fizzle again!
  • (She jumps to her bed and throws a huge tantrum)
  • 9-Volt: Too bad.
  • (He walks out of town in disgrace)
  • (Meanwhile, Dribble and Spitz are singing Village People's YMCA)
  • Dribble and Spitz: Young man, there's no need to feel down. I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground. I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town There's no need to be unhappy. Young man, there's a place you can go. I said, young man, when you're short on your dough. You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find Many ways to have a good time. It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A. It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A. They have everything for you men to enjoy, You can hang out with all the boys ... It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.   • Dribble: That was fun.
  • Spitz: So what's next.
  • (9-Volt enters the scene)
  • 9-Volt: Dribble, Spitz, horrible news. Mr. Fizzle is in the dumpster and Penny's heartbroken.
  • Dribble and Spitz: What!?
  • 9-Volt: Mitzi's going to be mad if she finds out about Penny's teddy bear.
  • Dribble: Whoa, whoa, whoa. If she's not an answer to you, then who framed her?
  • Spitz: We'll just be detectives.
  • 9-Volt: Great idea.
  • (Soon)
  • Dribble: We'll solve this case fair and square.
  • Spitz: Join us.
  • 9-Volt: Okay.
  • (Meanwhile, Penny is in her room, sad and heartbroken)
  • Penny: Mr. Fizzle, where are you?
  • Mitzi: Penny, come on now, open the door this very moment.
  • Penny: Okay, mom.
  • (Penny opens the door and sees Mitzi)
  • Mitzi: I was so worried about you, dear.
  • Penny: I want my teddy bear back, it's all 9-Volt's fault.
  • Mitzi: No it wasn't, young lady. He's out with Dribble and Spitz to find him.
  • Penny: (whines ruthlessly and bursts into tears and clutches onto her mother)
  • Mitzi: That's right, take it easy. Your teddy bear is going to be back soon.
  • Penny: (in tears) But why do they have to steal Mr. Fizzle. It's just not fair!
  • (Back with 9-Volt, Dribble and Spitz, they find themselves at the dumpster)
  • 9-Volt: Whoa, this place looks deserted.
  • Dribble: Not for long, we've got to look for Mr. Fizzle.
  • Spitz: There he is.
  • (Mr. Fizzle is found in the nearest part of the dumpster)
  • 9-Volt: Now, we'll just have to get him back to Penny before she cries again.
  • (Back at home)
  • Penny: (still in tears) I want Mr. Fizzle back!
  • Mitzi: Now, don't start crying, young lady. I'm worried about that.
  • (9-Volt, Dribble and Spitz return)
  • 9-Volt: We found Mr. Fizzle fair and square.
  • Penny: (stops crying and looks at a very dirty Mr. Fizzle) Do you have a dirty teddy bear?
  • 9-Volt: Uh yes.
  • Penny: Then i was so worried about him.
  • (She picks up Mr. Fizzle and hugs him tightly)
  • Penny: I'll never make you lost again.
  • 9-Volt: Thanks for helping me.
  • Dribble and Spitz: No problem.
  • (That evening)
  • Dr. Crygor: So, Penny, have you been worried about your teddy bear?
  • Penny: Oh yes.
  • Arnold: Then i would be glad to help.
  • (In 9-Volt's room)
  • 9-Volt: Dear diary, i'm glad Penny has got her teddy bear back, it's been many times since i helped Dribble and Spitz and thanks to me, everything's back to normal. Sincerely, 9-Volt.
  • (He closes the diary as the episode concludes)
  • (The end credits then show Wario charging in an Omi style)
  • (While they roll, the English dubbed version of Four Seasons plays)
  • Chorus: Took a walk and passed your house late last night All the shades were pulled and drawn way down tight From within, the dim light cast two silhouettes on the shade Oh what a lovely couple they made Put his arms around your waist, held you tight Kisses I could almost taste in the night Wondered why I'm not the guy whose silhouette's on the shade I couldn't hide the tears in my eyes.
