Narrator: "On a clear day when the sky is blue and there is just enough breeze to blow the clouds away, you can stand on a big hill above the valley and watch Soarin and Dr. Hooves far below, busily at work on Soarin's route near the sea. The two ponies are very proud of their gleaming colors. Dr. Hooves often talks about the time that Hondo Flanks saved him from death."
Dr. Hooves: "If it wasn't for his help,"
Narrator: "Dr. Hooves would say."
Dr. Hooves: "I might have been caught when I ran away from the scrapyard, and I would never come to live here in Hoity Toity's town."
Narrator: "The other animals all wanted to know about Dr. Hooves' adventures."
Filthy Rich: "Amazing!"
Narrator: "Remarked Filthy Rich."
Cranky Doodle Donkey: "Dr. Hooves..."
Narrator: "Said Cranky."
Cranky Doodle Donkey: "has resource."
Big Macintosh: "And sagacity."
Narrator: "Put in Big Macintosh."
Pipsqueak: "What does that mean?"
Narrator: "Whispered Pipsqueak."
Spike: "I think,"
Narrator: "Replied Spike."
Spike: "It's about being clever and wise."
Big Macintosh: "He is..."
Narrator: "Finished Big Mac."
Big Macintosh: "An example to us all."
Narrator: "I'm sorry to say that Dr. Hooves became very puffed up in his head."
Dr. Hooves: "Filthy Rich says I'm amazing. He's right."
Narrator: "He said as he swooshed along the path.
One day, Hoity Toity came to see him."
Hoity Toity: "You are doing well. Now, you must learn how to look after changelings."
Narrator: "Every wise animal knows that you cannot trust changelings. The other animals warned Dr. Hooves, but he took no notice."
Dr. Hooves: "You think I can't manage!"
Narrator: "He said huffley."
Dr. Hooves: "Big Mac knows better. He says I'm sagacious."
Soarin: "You maybe good gracious or whatever you call it, but changelings can be troublesome and..."
Night Light: "Say no more Soarin."
Narrator: "Said Night Light."
Night Light: "It's a pity. But the wee pony will just have to learn it for himself."
Narrator: "Dr. Hooves pulled some loaded changelings into a siding and pushed the empties to the chute.
Then he came back to take the loaded changelings away. But they were comfortable and didn't want to move."
Changelings: "What right is he to poke his head in here?
We want Soarin!
Or Night Light!
Or Hondo Flanks!"
Dr. Hooves: "Look sharp!"
Narrator: "Huffed Dr. Hooves."
Changelings: "That's not the way to speak."
Narrator: "Hissed the changelings."
Changelings: "We'll get even."
Narrator: "Dr. Hooves heard nothing. The changelings moved smoothly at first, then suddenly, Dr. Hooves felt them push forward.
His driver applied the brakes, but they were useless against the surging changelings."
Changelings: "On! On! On!"
Narrator: "Yelled the changelings. Dr. Hooves forged hard. But still they forced him on and on.
At last, the changelings grew tired."
Dr. Hooves: "I'm winning."
Narrator: "Gasped Dr. Hooves. But it was too late.
Dr. Hooves lay bruised and benuised, bunkered down in the turntable well. Soarin survaved the damaged."
Soarin: "Hello, Dr. Hooves. Are you being a good gracious pony? Beg pardon, we really don't like this sort of surprise. Night Light and Hondo Flanks will miss their turntable until it's mended."
Narrator: "That evening, Dr. Hooves was hauled gently to safety."
Dr. Hooves: "I'm sorry, sir."
Narrator: "He said to Hoity Toity."
Dr. Hooves: "I should've listen to Soarin's advice. I don't feel good gracious or whatever it is. I just feel silly."
Hoity Toity: "Well Dr. Hooves,"
Narrator: "Replied Hoity Toity."
Hoity Toity: "Now you know the damage changelings can do."
Dr. Hooves: "Yes I do, sir. I look like a load of scrap iron."
Hoity Toity: "Oh, I don't think so."
Narrator: "Laughed Hoity Toity."
Hoity Toity: "But you do need to go to the Hospital to be healed."
Narrator: "The other animals now felt sorry for Dr. Hooves."
Soarin: "The route won't be the same without you."
Narrator: "Whistled Soarin."
Soarin: "Come back soon."
Narrator: "A few days later, Dr. Hooves did come back. His coat gleamed brighter than ever. He was a wiser pony too, and never made a mistake about changelings again."
