Narrator: "It was a special holiday on Acme Acres. Little Beeper was working harder than ever before.
All the animals were busy, too.
Furrball was waiting for his next journey. Near him stood an overweight scientist, but he didn't look friendly like Little Beeper. The scientist growled as he gazed at the happy passengers."
Dr. Robotnik: "Stupid nonsense."
Narrator: "He grumbled."
Dr. Robotnik: "I wouldn't have brought them if I'd known. I'd have had a breakdown or something."
Furrball: "I'm glad you didn't."
Narrator: "Smiled Furrball."
Furrball: "You'd have spoiled their fun."
Dr. Robotnik: "Bah. Enjoyment is all you animals live for. One day, Acme Acres will be ripped up!"
Narrator: "Furrball felt shocked at such an idea."
Furrball: "We have a friend called Little Beeper, and he's a roadrunner, but he likes Acme Acres. Sometimes he teases us about it, but he'd never want to see it ripped up."
Dr. Robotnik: "Heh."
Narrator: "Growled the scientist."
Dr. Robotnik: "I know Little Beeper. He's too small in size to be of any use."
Narrator: "Furrball took no notice."
Furrball: "That man is silly."
Narrator: "He thought, as he steamed away.
At the junction, Furrball told Gogo all about him."
Gogo: "I call him Dr. Robotnik!"
Narrator: "Chuckled Gogo, and then he puffed happily away.
But that afternoon, when the two toons met again, Gogo was no longer laughing."
Gogo: "Robotnik's friend has come."
Narrator: "He said."
Gogo: "He's rude, too! He's taking Robotnik's passengers home, and leaving Robotnik free to steal ours."
Furrball: "But he can't!"
Narrator: "Objected Furrball."
Gogo: "Robotnik says he can get them to Acme Looniversity before us."
Narrator: "Replied Furrball."
Furrball: "It's much farther by road."
Narrator: "Continued Gogo."
Gogo: "But Robotnik says he knows a shortcut!"
Narrator: "That evening, the toons were preparing for the homeward rush."
Furrball: "Where are the passengers?"
Narrator: "They wondered."
Narrator: "Shrilled Gogo."
Gogo: "Look at Robotnik! He's a mean, 700-pound deciever!"
Narrator: "Robotnik was wearing a large sign, saying, 'Acme Acres Doctor'."
Dr. Robotnik: "Yeah, boo, snubs!"
Narrator: "He jeered, as he roared away."
Furrball: "Come on,"
Narrator: "Puffed Furrball to his swans,"
Furrball: "Let's see what he's up to!"
Narrator: "Furrball wanted to get back at Robotnik, but he wasn't sure how.
Then, in the distance, Furrball's animator saw a red flag. That meant 'Danger'.
The line here crosses a narrow road, and there was Robotnik, wedged firmly under the bridge."
Furrball: "So this was his shortcut."
Narrator: "Chuckled Furrball."
Passengers: "He tricked us!"
Narrator: "Shouted Robotnik's passengers."
Passengers: "He said he was an Acme Acres Doctor, but he wouldn't accept our return tickets! He wanted us to think Acme Acres was no good!"
Narrator: "Furrball's animator examined the bridge."
Furrball's Animator: "It's risky, but we must help the passengers."
Furrball: "Passengers are urgent."
Narrator: "Agreed Furrball. Furrball slowly and carefully set off across the bridge. Robotnik wailed as he felt the bridge quiver."
Dr. Robotnik: "Oh, oh! Stop!"
Narrator: "He shouted."
Dr. Robotnik: "It might fall on me!"
Furrball: "That would serve you right for telling lies."
Narrator: "Said Furrball, but the bridge didn't collapse.
Furrball made good time, and all the passengers caught their rides.
The bridge is now mended, but not unfortunately, Robotnik and his ways. He never learned sense. He's a henhouse now, and his lies can do no harm. The hens never listen to them, anyway."
