VDSL Solutions
Very high-speed digital subscriber line (VDSL) solutions enable asymmetric and symmetric transmission at aggregated downstream and upstream speeds in excess of 100 Mbps. Conexant's VDSL chip sets offer high-speed, long reach, low system-cost solutions for multi-tenant and multi-dwelling unit (MxU), optical networking unit (ONU), digital loop carrier (DLC) and CO deployments.
Conexant's VDSL chipsets also support customer premise equipment applications, further leveraging the company's expertise in DSL, wireless local area networking (WLAN) and a wide array of products for the digital home.
The Xenon system solution can also be used in conjunction with Conexant’s Accelity VDSL/VDSL2 chipset to provide fiber-to-the-neighborhood (FTTN), enabling the cost-effective delivery of triple-play voice, video and data services. Xenon is the first in a family of planned devices for PON networks, and is currently being deployed by service providers worldwide.
An optimized version for multiple dwelling unit (MDU) applications provides 25 percent greater throughput, and seamlessly interfaces to Conexant’s Accelity VDSL/VDSL2 chipset. ......In addition, Xenon includes support for quality of service (QoS), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and IP video multicasting in triple-play applications.

[edit] Aktino
http://www.aktino.com/ thernet-Over-Copper Products 4/29/2009
Beginning May 2009 Aktino's family of Ethernet-Over-Copper (EoCu) products will double the downstream rate/reach of its current products. Aktino EoCu will deliver up to 100 Mbps on just 5 copper pairs (80 Mbps on 4 copper pairs). Aktino's current AK5xx EoCu products are field upgradeable for higher bandwidth via a simple, software upgrade.
Aktino's asymmetric 100 Mbps also applies to business Ethernet services. MSOs are promising asymmetric rates of 60Mbps and higher as they roll-out DOCSIS 3.0.
Aktino accomplished performance improvement by expanding the operating frequency spectrum from ADSL2's 1.1Mhz maximum to ADSL2+'s 2.2Mhz maximum and by taking full advantage of its patented MIMO-on-DMT technology in both downstream and upstream directions.
Aktino EoCu products deliver symmetric or asymmetric bandwidth at reaches up to 18Kft over 4, 8, or 16 copper pairs. Users can set an Aktino system for asymmetric and vary the degree of asymmetry to match their particular application through simple field settings.
