  • James: Oh, botheration!
  • Diesel: We're stuck!
  • Narrator: And they were. James' driver and fireman, Diesel's driver, the stationmaster and the foreman tried to fix James' regulator and Diesel's airtake but it was no good.

  • Narrator: Duck's driver uncoupled James and Diesel's train.
  • Duck: I'll help you.
  • Narrator: James and Diesel seethed with fury as Duck pushed them to a siding. He buffered up to James and Diesel's frieght train. And he took it to the docks. Duck sped up the line. Until he made it to the docks just in time. Thomas, Edward and Henry were there. So was Oliver.
  • Duck: (catching his breath) I've did it! (he smiles to no one in particular)
  • Narrator: Duck rolled beside James and Diesel, who still said nothing. James and Diesel seethed with anger. Sir Topham Hatt was pleased with Duck.

  • Duck: (exhausted) Oh, thank you, sir!
  • Narrator: Sir Topham Hatt turned crossly to James and Diesel. He was not happy any more
  • Sir Topham Hatt: (to James and Diesel) James and Diesel, you have said mean things to Duck for the last month. As punishment, you will do shunting in the yards, for the next two months!
  • James and Diesel: Two months?! You can't be serious!
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Yes, I am serious, this is what you get for being mean to a Great Western steam engine! Duck has proved himself to be a really useful engine, and you know it!
  • James and Diesel: But, sir! We're sorry!!
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I'm tired of you to say sorry!!! You're too late!!!!!!!!!
  • Narrator: James and Diesel were very ashamed. Duck enjoyed his week off.
  • Duck: I love my week off.
  • Narrator: As for James and Diesel, whenever they saw Duck, they would have learned not to be so mean. But I think they learned their lesson, don't you?

  • Caillou makes a cameo, but he wasn't introduced until "Caillou The Brat".
