The works prepared below use the New Times 9pt font, set in columns, and have very small margins so that they can be photocopied without wasting vast amounts of paper. They have been designed to be printed on both sides of an A4 sheet, having a larger margin on the inside than on the outside of the leaf.

I intend to publish here stylesheets and templates for OpenOffice so that others can easily produce their own compressed typographical books in PDF. Also I will try and write and publish here a howto manual with tips and tricks section dealing with converting a variety of text sources into clean documents. Later, depending on the release of Rebol 3, I hope to be able to supply some software that will speed things along.

Ideally, my long term plan is to create the software to create XML structured literature, and stylesheets that allow a variety of PDF formats to be produced as well as text "cleaned-up" for use in Voice Synthesis. I have found the combined use of printed text with variable speed Voice Synthesis software to be highly successful in significantly increasing the reading speeds of High School students to >400 words per minute, that is up to educated adult reading speeds, with commensurate increases in comprehension. A later addition will have information on how to set up such a software environment.

I will also publish soon information of where to find public domain literature on the net, how to purchase ebooks and how to crack the text to enable these to be likewise formatted. Copyrighted works can be used by teachers for the purpose of study under common law in Australia. However, this wiki is nonrestrictive, and publishing such works here where any member of public may obtain a copy is a breach of Copyright and will be deleted.--GregS 14:12, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
