Exploits
From Scratchpad
As any program, the Baldur's Gate games have some bugs and some can be exploited to your benefit. Note that this page is meant for exploits that cannot be reproduced by CLUAConsole. You can get lots of money by pick pocketing and selling and you can get more experience by clicking quickly on someone who just gave you experience for a quest, but you can do those things with CLUAConsole too.

[edit] Dual-Classing
When you abort Dual-Classing a Thief, all the her traps will be available to her again.
[edit] Melf's Minute Meteors
If you have a weapon in your off hand then cast Melf's Minute Meteors, you will attack with both from the range of the Meteors (which is very long).
[edit] Familiars
The two Familiars that can Pick Pockets, the Ferret and the Cat, can be used as a Bag of Holding. Simply let the Familiar pick the pocket of a character who's items you want to store and they will be transfered to it. Just like a Bag of Holding, the weight is reduced to 0 so it won't slow the Familiar down. By asking the Familiar to give you everything she's pickpocketed you get your items back.
[edit] Firecam Full-Plate Armor
A Monk and possibly some other characters with attributes at least as high as listed below can wear Keldorn's Firecam Full-Plate Armor. Note that these refer to your modified attributes so you could use the Ring of Human Influence to get 18 Charisma and another item to boost your Strength. Potions work too.
- 15 Strength
- 17 Constitution
- 12 Intelligence
- 18 Charisma
This is the only armour Monks can wear.
[edit] Potion of Genius & Potion of Mind Focusing
An arcane caster (Mage, Sorceror or Bard) can learn more spells than his Intelligence normally allows by drinking a potion that boosts his Intelligence, either a Potion of Genius (+4 Intelligence) or a Potion of Mind Focusing (+3 Intelligence). These spells will remain after the effect of the potion wears out.
[edit] Valygar's Corthala Family Armour
Some characters with attributes that are at least as high as those listed below and the ability to normally wear leather armour can wear Valygar's Corthala Family Armor while it should be restricted to him alone. His armour does not prevent wizards from casting spells. As with Keldorn's armour, any items (including potions) that boost your attributes will count towards this requirement. If you use a potion, make sure you have some way to boost the attribute in case the armour gets removed (if the NPC gets killed, for instance).
- 6 Strength
- 18 Dexterity
- 11 Wisdom
It might only work for Dual-Classed Fighter/Mages and Fighter/Clerics. Multi-Classed Elves and Half-Elves cannot wear it.
