Brief History[]

The Republic has been the long-standing galactic government for thousands of years, faithfully maintaining a democratic presence in most areas of the galaxy. Until recently, it was uncontested. Though there were neutral worlds, there was no true threat capable of toppling the massive Republic, slow moving though it could be at times, due simply to its size and technology, if nothing else.

However, in more recent times, things have taken a change for the worse on part of the Republic. Though it is still the dominate force in the galaxy and by far the largest, it no longer holds the same edge it did before. Years of war after war after war have slowly begun chipping away at the massive giant, revealing cracks and creating more. First came the Great Hyperspace War of old, and then a period of relative peace. However, this was later shattered yet again with the rise of more Sith Lords, spawned from the now fallen Old Empire, such as Exar Kun and Revan. The Republic weathered these new threats, and its military grew stronger in its experience, but still more came. After Revan and later Malak, fell, the Republic thought itself safe. However, two wars followed, namely those against a newly arisen Sith Empire and the forces of Darth Shadow and afterwards a strange race from the Unknown Regions called the Sarissi, that strained the Republic heavily. Now, in yet another moment of apparent peace, tensions boil as the Republic sits in a position of weakness it has not felt for millennia with its forces low and its economy lower. Indeed, parts within the Republic even seem to be turning against themselves…

Brief History[]

In the aftermath of the Sith War, the Sith Empire withdrew deep into its holdings and rebuilt its pool of soldiers, ships, and trained force adepts. But in the Mandalorian Wars, the Sith struck too soon, and were eventually smashed by the Republic fleets led by Revan. Revan became the Dark Lord of the Sith and disbanded the Council of Lords, having only his apprentice Malak near him in terms of absolute control. Only those Lords smart enough to hide their true loyalties or those who blindly followed whoever was in charge escaped the purges of Revan, and later Malak when his coup dethroned the Dark Lord.

After the fall of the Star Forge and Malak’s death, the highest surviving Sith, only a few being holdovers from the pre-Revan Empire, came together in a new Council of Lords to nominate a leader. That leader was the Trandoshan, Lord Thaxilius. For several months, the Sith Empire continued in its war with the Republic, though the intensity was not as great. Whatever hopes the Sith Empire had at regrouping were nearly crushed when the Sith Lord Darth Shadow staged his own attempt at gaining power, murdering Lord Thaxilius on Thule and assembling a large fleet over Ziost. In the end, it took a combined effort by both the Sith and the Republic to topple Shadow’s forces for what seemed for good. In that aftermath, both sides reluctantly agreed on peace. Lord Vilan then elected Dark Lord in the Second Council of Lords held.

About four years have passed since that time. The Sith have regained much strength in that time with new recruitment measures and new shipbuilding projects. Though actual war hostilities between the Sith and Republic have ceased, there are still minor forays with intelligence agents between borders and skirmishes between Sith and Anti-Sith groups such as the Legion and the Jedi Order, leading to an uneasy peace at best.

Despite this, the Sith have also changed greatly, and some say, even grown weaker. The massive expansion the Sith Empire underwent during the pre-Shadow War times left a massive Empire far larger than what was ever under original Sith control. With these new territories came new problems, and after the Sith War left the Sith navy decimated, there were simply not enough forces to keep the entire Empire under control. With rebellions and problems abound, the Sith were forced to split the Empire apart into smaller, more or less self-governing sectors under the rule of individual Lords to keep the Empire from collapsing. With these new leaders able to more greatly focus on their respective areas, and responsible for their own fleets and forces, the Empire was able to stay together, but was left more fractured than before.

Additionally, a splinter faction known as the Kazuraad has recently emerged. A faction that seems to be dedicated to the memory of the deceased Darth Shadow as well as his beliefs and goals, they are now openly contesting the Sith for domination of the Empire. This brewing civil conflict is a precarious time for the Sith, and changes and discoveries are sweeping through it’s lands.

Brief History[]

The Jedi Legion is, quite simply, those Jedi who went with Revan to the Mandalorian Wars. Fully half of the total of Jedi went at one time or another, and many of the best and brightest were lost in that terrible struggle. In the aftermath of Revan's betrayal, the Legion comprised of those who resisted the call of the Dark Side and now fought the Sith under Revan. The Legion suffered heavily as Revan wanted them dead more than even the Council Jedi, fearing their lack of qualms that made Jedi predicable.

The Legion could be said to be a means of protest against the Jedi Council, taking their orders directly from the Republic high command. Thus, the Legion is a force of troops that are devoted to war in a way no Jedi is. Their ruthless, sometimes cruel tactics are a surprise to those who mistake them for normal Jedi. Feared and avoided by even the common soldiers, the Legion is a tight knit group, and this comes from the Colonel himself. Now, the Legion numbers just one hundred and ten members, but they are one for one, the best soldiers in the galaxy. The Legion was traditionally divided into three companies, now reduced to one small unit by casualties. The Legion carries lightsabres, a blaster pistol, and whatever personal weapons their members wish.

Brief History[]

The Grey Order was formed by former Jedi Knight Arik Ungasa following a falling out with the leadership of the Jedi Order. Following a self-imposed ten year exploration of the nature of the Force Arik had returned to find the Jedi Order to be far different to anything that he remembered. It had become to his eyes old and stagnate and its views of the Force were unable to be reconciled with his own. His then apprentice Armoad in tow he set out across the galaxy to find individuals of a like mind. Stumbling across the Ethereals led by Narwan, Arik offered to them the chance to join forces with the Jedi which they grudgingly accepted. Over time the Grey Order has come together as a unit and has established itself as one of the more elite fighting forces in the galaxy. Unfortunately it is still relatively young having been in existence for no more than a few months. In that time they have broken up several pirate and slaver groups, fought alongside the Republic in defeating a Sith incursion, were heavily involved in the assassination of a Sith Lord.

  9. N/A
  10. Grey Order
  11. Illegian Order Chapters

Brief History[]

The Illegian Order is a several hundred year old religious group that started on the planet Coruscant. The group centers on the idea that there is an all-powerful entity which they refer to as Illegius which wishes to see the people of the galaxy live well and the evils purged from it. They also believe that Illegius grants special powers to mortals to aid them in this task. This "special power" is more commonly known as "the Force." Since its founding, the Illegian Order has spread to a large number of worlds within the Republic and is perhaps the largest religious group, excluding the Jedi and Sith Orders. Most of the Illegian Order provides standard temple services and aid to those in need or deals with the running of the Order. A special group, known as "Exorcists" exist also, however, as a sort of Inquisition-style group meant to work against the groups the Order sees as evils.

The Order sees any group that glorifies or exists solely for the purpose of war or battle to be evil and disruptive to that which Illegius wishes, and thus attempts to thwart these groups with its Exorcist wing. The Order is centered in Coruscant under the direction of the High Priest of Illegius, as well as his two underlings, Overpriest Xalier (leader of the Priest wing) and High Exorcist Dalagor (leader of the Exorcist wing).

  • Grey Order

Neutral:

Brief History[]

The Bladeborn were formed during the reign of Tulak Hord, an ancient Sith Lord renowned for his fighting ability. Their founder was a Sith swordsmaster known as Darth Argusa, and he led them through their first years, laying down the basic principles of what would become the secret techniques of sword fighting that would make the Bladeborn separate and distinct from the other Sith splinter sects.

Thousands of years passed, and the Bladeborn rose and fell like any other faction. Each Leader left his mark on the organization, until in time it became entirely unique. This position would be formalized under the reign of Darth Karmine, a Dark Lord who found swords to be antiquated and useless. The Bladeborn Leader disagreed, naturally, and the disagreement became violent. It culminated in the Leader declaring his men outcast, and literally overnight he lifted all Bladeborn men and property and relocated to Stenness. Karmine, oddly enough, did not pursue them, such was his disdain of the sword.

Two hundred years following this event, a new Leader rose to power within the Bladeborn. Nikolai Brewster, replacing Jaralan Hargraves, looked at the current state of galactic affairs, and decided it would be prudent to realign his men with the Sith Empire after all these years. He went and spoke with the Dark Lord Thaxilius, reaching an agreement both beings liked. A year or so later, when the Empire was split up and divided, he was made a Sector Lord and given control of the Melenam Sector. Naturally, Nikolai used his new influence to expand the Bladeborn to their current state, and there they stand.

[From Bladeborn, Wookiepedia, the Star Wars Wiki]

The Bladeborn was the name of an offshoot organization from the Sith, dedicated to sword mastery. Members were ranked by how many lightsaber-wielding opponents they had defeated in battle. A Bladeborn who had defeated ten such opponents was called a 'masterblade', and rewarded with a special cortosis-laced Sith Tremor Sword.

  • The Galactic Republic
  • Czerka Corporation

Brief History[]

No one knows the history of the Kazuraad really, save for the highest personnel entrusted to that information. The name Kazuraad is an archaic Sith word that means "shadow", and that plus the various dogmatic stances or decrees of Kazuraadi indicate that the group is a resistance force dedicated to the ideals and memory of the now-deceased Darth Shadow. Nothing is known of their mysterious leader, save that his title has been mentioned a few times on occasion. For the lieutenants/hierarchs, more is known of them as three of the four were former Sith themselves, with Geoki instead being a major financial and strategic backer of the organization. The goals of the Kazuraad are very clear: The dissolution of the current Sith Empire and the reestablishment of a new order dedicated to the ideals of Darth Shadow. So far the conflicts between them and the Empire have been minimal and scattered, save for an initial uprising attempt on Ziost that precipitated the rebellion. But, now it seems that the Kazuraad may have more forces than previously expected, and will be a threat to the security of the Sith Empire in the coming months.

Exchange Crime Syndicate[]

Leaders:

  • The Compeer
  • Stac'gniworez

Force Affiliation:

  • Neutral

Allies:

  • The Exchange has no true allies in the traditional sense of the word, and while they have operations and operatives in all other factions, they are not strong-tied to any but themselves. The may call upon any service from any other orginization in which they have ties, but such support is only temporary and comes with a hefty fee.

Enemies:

  • The Hutts
  • Bladeborn
  • Grey Order
  • The Jedi Order
  • The Sith Empire
  • Galactic Republic
  • The Illegian Order
  • Authority in general

Neutral:

  • Genoharadan
  • Czerka Corporation
  • Bounty Hunter's Guild

Brief History[]

Established roughly thirty years prior to the Exar Kun War, the Exchange was little more then a grouping of thug-like orginizations banding together for survival against the Republic, which was then at the time hunting down and routing out the smaller criminal gangs. The small and fragile syndicate was quickly circumvented by the mysterious Compeer who assumed control, then quickly killed any who dare break the piece or speak out against it. This was the building blocks for the massive, galaxy-spanning crime syndicate that it is today. The Exchange is both feared and respected as one of the best places to achieve personal power quickly, though more often then not quite deadly. Only the best of the best survive within the Exchange.
