Fawful made his first appearance in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga as a henchman of the evil witch Cackletta, who terrorized the BeanBean Kingdom together. Fawful assisted his mistress many times throughout the game with his undying loyalty to her. At the end of the game, Fawful was defeated by both Mario and Luigi, as well as getting kicked out of Bowser's Castle by Prince Peasley.
However, it is unknown how Fawful survived the fall, as he was able to return in the next game, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. However, Fawful is now reduced to being the owner of a bean shop this time around, and had sworn revenge against the Mario Bros. Fawful can trade the player some rare badges in exchange for some beans.
Fawful returned once again in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story as the game's main antagonist. Fawful tricked Bowser into inhaling Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and some of the castle's staff to take over both parties' castles. He was assisted by his brawn named "Midbus", who acted as a foil to Bowser early on in the game. However, Fawful eventually aspired to absorb the power of the Dark Star to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom altogether. At the end of the game, both Mario and Luigi, as well as Bowser and some of his minions, were all able to defeat Fawful, Midbus, and the Dark Star by working together without Bowser even knowing that Mario and Luigi helped him out for most of the game.
Fawful has received really positive reception and critical acclaim from both fans and critics for his hilarious use of broken English in the first three games.
He is highly remembered for his hilarious and entertaining dialogue such as "I have fury!" and "the mustard of your doom!".
