  • Narrator: Wallace is a hard-working Great Western engine. He was the same shape as Culdee the Mountain Engine, except he was bigger than him, and was painted Great Western green. One day, a storm had damaged the trees. Wallace was sent to clear the mess, so he would be careful, and not get into an accident, but, suddenly, he did. He slide on the oily rails and hit a old van. Wallace just stood hissing and weeshing, as steam went glushing from his pipes. Then, he tried to reverse, but he couldn't. His brakes were jammed. They had to wait until the engineers came and fixed the problem. The next morning, Wallace was at Tidmouth Sheds, when James puffed by and whistled rudely at him. Wallace tried to whistle, but it only made a squeaky noise.
  • Wallace; Oh no! My whistle's broken!
  • Narrator: He sighed. He was told that he had to shunt frieght cars, until the fitters had time to repair his whistle. But more trouble came. As he tried to pull, his coupling broke.
  • Wallace: What else that can go wrong?!
  • Narrator: He groaned. He soon found out... when one of his connecting rods broke. He couldn't move. Wallace told Sir Topham Hatt about his problems. So Sir Topham Hatt decided to send another engine to take him to the repair yard. James over heard and puffed beside Wallace.
  • James: Hahahaha. Your words "GWR" stand for "Going Wrong Regulary".
  • Narrator: He teased.
  • James: If you ask me, Wallace should go to the scrapyard. He's worn out.
  • Narrator: Duck had heard everything wrong, while he was shunting frieght cars. He rolled beside him.
  • Duck: Ignore him!
  • Narrator: He said.
  • Duck: He's jealous about your letters "GWR" and thinks he's better than you! And what do they stand for?!
  • Wallace: Great Western Railway.
  • Narrator: Huffed Walace.
  • Wallace: That's where I came from.
  • James: Oh, I thought they stand for "Going Wrong Regulary".
  • Narrator: James teased.
  • Wallace: It's not funny!
  • Narrator: Snapped Wallace. Duck took Wallace to the works to be mended. And soon, Wallace was good as new, and did his work with no trouble. Later, James had problems too. He was making rude remakes about frieght cars.
  • James: You are weak and slow! You should be scrapped too!
  • Narrator: He grumbled. But the frieght cars played their tricks.
  • Frieght Cars: Hold back, hold back, hold back! You can pull, but we wouldn't go!
  • James: Quiet!
  • Narrator: Yelled James, as he pulled his train hard at last. He was pulling it along the line, still grumbling. Then, there was trouble. There was a terrible noise.
  • (Bang! Clang!)
  • James: AAAARGGGH!
  • Narrator: Screamed James. One of his front wheels had broken clean off, as he grounded to a halt.
  • James: Oh, botheration! I'm stuck!
  • Narrator: Groaned James, and he was. His driver inspected the problem.
  • James' Driver: One of your front wheels broke clean.
  • Narrator: James seethed with fury. Soon, Wallace took James to the Docks. Soon, they arrived.
  • Thomas: Look, Wallace, you're doing so well right now!
  • Wallace: Thanks, and my bad luck is gone!
  • Narrator: Everyone cheered. Later, after James was repaired, Sir Topham Hatt was pleased with Wallace and praised him for rescuing James. Then, he turned crossly to James.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I'm really dissapointed in you, James!
  • Narrator: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You teased Wallace about his letters: "GWR".
  • James: Sorry, sir.
  • Narrator: James said sadly.
  • James: But I thought they stand for "Going Wrong Regulary".
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Nevertheless, I told him they stand for "Great Western Railway", James!
  • Narrator: Said Sir Topham Hatt, and he left. James went back to Tidmouth Sheds.
