Hoity Toity (Narrating): "Ponyville was in the grips of winter. It had come early than expected, and with it, came the fog. None of us liked fog. But in those days, it was worst. Animals had no radio and no radar. Long periods of fog had a way of come jeering up with old stories of superstitions and animals of the town.

I remember Big Macintosh returned quite late. He'd been working all day with Mr. Cake, who had been telling him old stories of strange things that happened when fog was around.

As he passed down dark buildings, they seem to take on ghostly shapes. They groaned and creaked as if they were alive. As Big Mac came close to an old house, he heard a whisper which grew louder."

Big Macintosh: "Hello? Hello? Who's out there?

I must got out here fast while I've got no fog.

Ah, ponies. Thanks goodness, but...

Who's that? Who's out here this time of night? I don't hear footsteps.

They're the ghost fleet that Mr. Cake talked about! Ghosts! No! Oh!"

Hoity Toity (Narrating): "It was too much for Big Mac. For getting safety, he charged into the fog, and made his way through the dark shapes of more animals and creatures, trying to make sure, the ghost ponies weren't following him.

He was soon back at the library."

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "Slow down! You know better than to travel in fog of that great of naughts."

Braeburn: "You're right? You look as if you've seen a ghost."

Big Macintosh: "I, uh, well, I saw something, I, uh... No, I can't tell you, you'll only, laugh."

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "What? Oh, look, come on, we're worried a bit serious."

Big Macintosh: "Well, I have seen ghosts."

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "What? You've seen what?"

Big Macintosh: "Ghosts! You know Mr. Cake's story about those ponies that died in the great storm of 1912?"

Soarin: "And they'll come back to get you!"

Spike: "Oh, Big Mac, you're not taking Mr. Cake's story for real, are you?"

Big Macintosh: "Aye, well, I'm not going out there again till' the fog lifts."

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "Ha! Well, I'd never thought I'd hear that from a big horse."

Pipsqueak: "Well, he, he could have seen something, there could be ghosts, you never know."

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "Oh, don't be ridiculous, really."

Hoity Toity (Narrating): "Early the next day, the Ponyville Fleet all had their orders. As they moved out, they were giving Big Macintosh a hard time about his ghost."

Big Macintosh: "Knew I shouldn't have told them about it."

Braeburn: "Don't mind them. The fog plays funny tricks on us. Nothing really to worry about. As long as mind what you're doing, keep your wits about you. But, uh... ghosts, Big Mac." (Chuckles)

Big Macintosh: "Maybe I was seeing things. I had a lot on my mind at the time."

Hoity Toity (Narrating): "That evening, Soarin was making his way back to Ponyville. Some changelings were following, using him as a guide through the fog."

Changelings: "Hey, Soarin, you sure you know your way?"

Soarin: "Course' I do. Do you trust me or don't you? A bit of fog's nothing to worry about. I've got a natural sense of direction. If we were running into anything, I'd know... Good, where'd that come from? Phew. That was lucky. Better head out a bit."

Hoity Totiy (Narrating): "Soarin swerved violently, just in time to miss the mud bank. But the changelings were not so lucky."

Changelings: (Screaming) "Oh, Soarin!"

Soarin: "Quiet! When you can't see... What the?" (Sees what looks like ghosts) "What? Who the? I don't believe it! Yes, I do!" (Panting) "It's, it's what Big Mac saw! The Ghost Fleet! It's the Ghost Fleet!" (Backs up and runs away)

Hoity Toity (Narrating): "Steve Magnet, the old sea serpent, had failed all day to get a cheap tow into Ponyville, so he decided to try and sneak in for free, with the help of the fog.

Discord: "Hello, hello."

Steve Magnet: "Oh..."

Discord: "Ha ha! You never learn, do you, Steve? Eh? Ha ha! Oh, crime doesn't pay, you know?"

Steve Magnet: "Oh, what you talk about?"

Discord: "Slipping into Ponyville on your own without a tow? Well, I hope you run aground, I'll be there, you'll be my salvage!"

Steve Magnet: "Hey, I no salvage! Okay, 50, most I give you for a tow."

Discord: "Hey? Get lost, not for 500! You'll be worth more dead!"

Steve Magnet: "Well, I did ask about a tow and I did not get a tow, so..."

Discord: "That Steve. I'll get him one day... Anyway, heh, with luck, there should be a few distress calls today, eh? Heh. Suckers always pay at least double to get them out of trouble.

Aha. This looks like money. Ahoy! You need a tow into Ponyville? Eh? Eh? Ahoy? You there ahead of me? I'm hailing you! Give you a fair price, get you into town sa... safe?" (Sees what look like ghosts) "There's no sound. What's going on? It can't be! No! It's the ghosts! It's Big Mac's ghost fleet! Oh, no! They're coming to get me! Oh! I'll leave you alone, lads, don't touch me!"

Steve Magnet: "It's very foggy. Boy, if I see nobody, nobody can see me. Hmmm. So I get into Ponyville free. It's good. Eh, you watch where you're going. Why they don't answer? It's funny." (Sees what looks like ghosts) "Aye Carumba! It's ghosts! Oh, don't take me! I got a tow already, it's on it's way, please don't take me!"

Hoity Toity (Narrating): "The ghost ponies slid silently into the fog. Discord was so shaken, he sailed round in a circle and met Steve again."

(Discord bumps into Steve Magnet)

Discord: "Oh, uh, uh, oh, ah, oh, it's you. Uh, heh, not gotten far, have you?"

Steve Magnet: "Amigo, give me a tow, I pay what you want, any price you say."

Discord: "Uh, no, Steve, my old friend, uh, I'll tow you in for free, I need some company getting back to Ponyville. Heh heh."

Hoity Toity (Narrating): "Braeburn returned from taking two ponies out to Applosa. Tired and still somewhere out of town, he decided to take a short cut through where old animals were kept.

The fog gave everything a creepy look. Being out so long in thick fog was playing tricks on him."

Braeburn: "What's happening? Oh!"

Mr. Cake: "Braeburn!"

Braeburn: "Who's that? Mr. Cake's ghost? Can't be. Oh, this fog. What's that? Sounds like an animal. A pony working in this stuff?

Oh, it's Mr. Cake."

Mr. Cake: "Oy! You stupid pony! You walked right between us. You scared the daylights out of us altogether."

Braeburn: "Thought I was a ghost pony, did you?"

Mr. Cake: "Don't joke about those things!"

Braeburn: "Not seeing things, are you? You're beginning to believe those tales you tell."

Mr. Cake: "You take care, Braeburn."

Braeburn: "Cheerio!

Whoa! Now I'm seeing things. It's the ghost ponies! Right before my eyes! Oh, I hope they don't see me!"

Hoity Toity (Narrating): "Cranky Doodle Donkey had been out all day too."

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "That's funny! I can't recognize a thing. Not even hear a fog horn. That's can't be right. I'll try once more."

(Blows horn)

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "No one's replying. When I get back, I'm certainly going to complain to Lucky Clover. If I ever get there."

(Thomas whistles)

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "Ahh! No!

Oh, the rail bridge. Silly me.

I never thought I'd get as jumpy as the others. But I am. Oh dear, where am I? If I stare between these buildings, I should be near the town.

Oh! The ghost fleet! It's true!

They haven't seen me. Oh, good. Ahh! Dear, oh dear, oh dear!

Oh, no. I'm sorry. That's enough of me. I'm not moving from here till daylight. It's far too dangerous out there. I'll stay here for the night. They won't see me. Miles from home."

Hoity Toity (Narrating): "Spike and Pipsqueak were taking food out to Rarity."

Pipsqueak: "Oh. How are we going to find her in this?"

Spike: "Braeburn told me to wiggle to keep the breeze on the same cheek all the time. That way we'd be in the currents and head in the right direction. She can't be too far away by now."

Pipsqueak: "Hey, what's that? It sounds like ice breaking. It can't be, can it? Oh, I don't like this, Spike. What's happening?"

Spike: "Well, how should I know? It's weird!

Pipsqueak: "Oh, jeepers creepers! Oh! Are they numbered? It is. They've come to get us!

Oh! Look at the ground! It's... it's... What is it, Spike? What do we do?"

Spike: "How do I know? Oh, look at that!"

Pipsqueak: "Oh! It's a galleon, isn't it?"

Spike and Pipsqueak: "Oh!"

Spike: "Ahhh! Ahhh!"

Pipsqueak: "Oh, that face! Like a Neptune! I think."

Spike: "We're seeing things. We must be."

Hoity Toity (Narrating): "An early sun had burnt off the fog, but Cranky was still asleep where he tied up."

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "No! Go away, ghosts! Oh, please don't hurt me. Please! Please! What? Featherweight!"

Featherweight: "What are you doing here, Cranky? What's this about ghosts?"

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "Did I say ghosts? Must have been dreaming. I lost my place in the fog, and stayed here for the night."

Featherweight: "Here? That is funny."

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "What's so funny?"

Featherweight: "You're only five hundred yards from the library. It's there. Look."

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "Listen, everybody! I've seen ghosts for myself!"

Braeburn: "We've all seen them. Spike and Pipsqueak have seen the galleon too."

Cranky Doodle Donkey: "But, these were ghosts! I assure you, really. Silent! Phantoms of the town!"

Spike: "So you admit ghosts at this now, Cranky?"

Shining Armor: "Ghosts? What's that about, my dears?"

Big Macintosh: "Ghostly white ponies!"

Spike: "Yeah! White ponies, and a galleon!"

Pipsqueak: "And that Neptune something!"

Soarin: "I saw them too!"

Shining Armor: "You're all going crazy. Seeing things that aren't there. Haha."

Pipsqueak: "I'm not sure. I don't know what I saw now."

Shining Armor: "Well, I'll tell you. They're the white ponies. Down here from the Crystal Empire on the trail of some frozen land. These ponies walk very quietly listening to cracking ice. There was a wooden galleon frozen in the ground that must have melted in our warmer land. That's why you saw the old vassal bobbed up to the land. I doubt you saw Neptune, Pipsqueak. He's for fairy tales. You let the fog get to you, my dears." (Chuckles)

Spike: "Shining Armor, behind you!"

Shining Armor: "That's your ghostly galleon."

Hoity Toity (Narrating): "They watched with embarrassment, as Flim and Flam took away the rotten galleon.

Later on, Ponyville animals found they could laugh about it. But they never forgot the fog that nearly sent them crazy."
