The Gorlans are a diminutive race of furry creatures native to the planet Gault, they resemble teddy bears. They have large, bright eyes, small black noses, and hands which possess two fingers and an opposable thumb. Although they have no true technology, they have developed a highly developed civilization based on various mechanical devices built from tree limbs, bones, and animal hides. They live in the huge trees of Gault, but have farms and fields on the ground. They are friendly by nature, and have cunning minds capable of solving puzzles. They worship a religion based on the legends of spirits living in the moon's giant trees.
