Parent Gaming uses a simple school-like A-E grading system to rate quality and content for each game. These scores are shown in an info box on the right side of the page in bold red so that users can quickly get an idea of what a game is like. Below is an overview on how games are scored.

Quality

Grades how good a game actually is based on the presentation and fun factor. Games are graded based on how good they are today and not how good they were when they were first released. Scores are based on the quality of other games in the same genre. The grades are very general so reading the details in the article will help give you a clearer picture of the quality of a game.

Everything in the game looks and plays perfectly. Anything wrong with the game is minor and does not bring down the quality of the game.

B

• Good to Great Presentation
• Good to Great Game Play

The game looks and plays great. While not perfect the game is a lot of fun. Some small details keep the game from getting a higher score.

C

• Average to Good Presentation
• Average to Good Game Play
• Usually Fun to Play

The game is average. The quality of the game is good and there is fun to be had. Nothing is wrong with the game but at the same time nothing makes the game stand out.

D

• Poor to Average Presentation

The game is below average. There may be some fun parts to the game but they are bogged down by bad presentation and game play.

Grades on how family friendly a game is. The grades are a basic measure of the content parents may find questionable. Parent Gaming uses the grade scale instead of an age scale because it's the parent's decision as to what is appropriate for their child.
