[edit] LINK RESEARCH
NAB 2007 Entry - NAB Booth C2907
Wireless camera system manufacturer Link Research will show camera control for Sony and Thomson/ Grass Valley cameras at NAB, along with a high powered transmitter for use in cars, trucks and helicopters.
Camera control is a key feature for operating wireless cameras alongside cabled cameras. Link’s systems, with their almost imperceptible delay of 40 ms, are often chosen for such multi-camera situations, and camera control gives Link’s wireless camera systems yet another capability of the cabled cameras.
Link Research is known for its award-winning LinkXP range of low-delay wireless cameras which includes LinkHD, a wireless camera system for High Definition broadcast. During 2006, LinkHD was regularly used at top US events including Superbowl, Monday Night Football and the Ryder Cup. Now, there are LinkHD systems at most of America’s best-loved sports events, with typically 6-8 systems at the PGA Golf Tournament and the NASCAR races.
With Link’s new Sony or Thomson /Grass Valley camera control, camera controls such as Iris and colour balance can be controlled from the manufacturer’s control panel, even over fibre networks covering long distances. The cameraman still has the essential settings at his fingertips.
Cameras supported are: Thomson /Grass Valley LDK-6000 using Grass Valley OCP400 and all Sony cameras using the system 700 protocol.
Also new at NAB this year is Link’s High Power TX system, a complete, portable high power COFDM system in a flight case. Suitable for SD or HD, this works directly from automobiles, trucks and helicopters.
Link will also show its fibre optic extender system which allows Link downconverters to be located remotely, connected by fibre optic cable. This will be working at the booth.
