[edit] ABALTAT
Abaltat Muse is the world's first video-driven soundtrack composer. It can be purchased as a download from the Abaltat Web site.
Representing a fundamental departure from traditional post-production tools, Abaltat Muse is the first post-production software to exploit artificial intelligence by measuring different selected elements in a moving picture and composing music to them.
Abaltat Muse is designed specifically for video editors. It uses a combination of picture windows, timelines, and keyframes to compose music, requiring a video editor's skills to create music, not a musician's. Abaltat Muse actually writes the music to the picture, attune to having a band in the user's computer dedicated to the editing process. Abaltat Muse composes the music and plays out using a MIDI sampler and virtual instruments. Consequently there are no limits on the audio quality of the outputs that can be in AIFF or WAV formats, or even as a MIDI file, should the editor require a musician to do more work on his or her composition.
Abaltat Band is a suite of "bands" that works as a plug-in with the Abaltat Muse application. Users can download the application from Abaltat's Web site.
Users can choose the composition style from one of several genres that each include selected virtual instruments. The genres vary from rhythm and blues to "Atmospheric." Albatat Band's compositions are based on musical arrangements and are not preprogrammed. Users can radically modify the compositions on the timeline as changes in scales, instruments, and mixes are all controlled by keyframes.
Abaltat Band is designed as a 21st century musical instrument with video editing workflow parameters that can sound like a band, a string quartet, or an electronic composer, and in which every case, does what it is told by the editor. The application carries no prior royalties on the music it creates.
Abaltat Beat is designed to solve one of the creative problems of music and picture — it allows the editor to cut pictures first and then find a best-fit beats-per-minute (BPM) by analyzing the Edit Decision List (EDL). Abaltat Beat suggests a series of possible fits by a comparative analysis of beats-per-minute and the edited rate of the picture.
This BPM can be played back in sync with the picture using a series of drum patterns included in Abaltat Beat. The time signature of the drum patterns can be adjusted, for example from 3/4 to 4/4, allowing for a complete recalculation of the drum track, (i.e., how a waltz would fit the cut rather than an R&B track).
Abaltat Beat can export a midi file so that the project can be easily sent on to a musician for further composition work. It can also be sent as a QuickTime file with the audio in sync to the picture. Since the time is expressed in BPM, it is also possible to search music libraries using the BPM.
All BPM selections work seamlessly with the soon-to-be released Abaltat Muse. [1]
