Healing Idols The Movie: A Thrilling Adventure♪ Protect The Stage of Dreams! is a theatrical film based on the second season of the Mumfie's Journey animated series and the Scarecrowella and the Healing Idols novels.
The Healing Idols, Scarecrowella and Hilary Moonstone, have collected all the Idolcharms and think their mission is over. They soon find out that the worlds in which their alternate forms live in, connected by a mysterious place known as the Stage of Dreams, are in danger. This is all because of the villians they have fought against in the past, who want to destroy the dreams of the people in these worlds. However, it will take more magic then they've ever needed before and the help of a magical baby to stop them.
- There are three nods to the original Mumfie series in this movie: first, Scarecrowella asks "What was that?" after seeing flashes of lightning, Scarecrow yells "Mumfie!" when he sees him for the first time, and Hilary tells the main villians "Everyone has imagination! You just have to know how to use it!" when explaining how it's bad to ruin people's dreams.
- This film introduces the Dream forms of the Healing Idols.
The film mostly recieved positive reviews, and was praised by critics. The New York Times called it "a fantastic voyage to please the senses. It currently has a 8.4 on IMDB.
The movie opened up at #1, most likely due to the Healing Idol craze that had been spawned since the second season of Mumfie's Journey. It made $57,000,000 at the box office on it's first weekend, and wound up making a total of $1,110,000,000 worldwide. The movie's success was so immense that it caused The Wacky World of Tex Avery and Muppets Most Wanted to flop. It later became the second highest-grossing animated film of all time, only beaten by Mumfie's Quest.
